ESD shows payment 'paid' status but money not deposited in my account after 4 days
I'm feeling really confused right now. I had 6 weeks of claims that were stuck in processing for ages, but they finally changed to 'paid' status on my ESD account last Friday (1/27). It's now Tuesday and I still don't see any deposits in my bank account. The payment details page shows my correct bank info, and these aren't the first payments I've received. My previous payments usually showed up within 1-2 business days after the status changed to 'paid.' Does anyone know how long I should expect to wait? Is there some kind of processing delay happening at ESD right now? Getting really worried since I need this money for February rent that's due in a few days.

This happened to me last month. It seems like ESD is experiencing some payment processing delays lately. For me, it took about 5 business days after the 'paid' status for the money to actually hit my account. The ESD agent I spoke with said there was a backlog in the payment system. If you don't see it by Thursday, I'd recommend trying to contact them.

•Thanks for sharing your experience. That gives me some hope! Do you think calling will help speed things up at all, or should I just wait until Thursday like you suggested?

mine took 3 days last week. bank holidays might slow it down too.

•That's a good point about bank holidays. I forgot about MLK Day being last week. Maybe that's part of the delay.

The EXACT same thing happened to me! Mine said 'paid' for over a week and nothing showed up in my account. Turns out my direct deposit info somehow got messed up in their system even though I could clearly see my correct bank account number on the payment page. Had to call ESD EIGHT TIMES before I got through and they fixed it. The rep said sometimes their system glitches and will show the correct info on the website but actually have an error in the background. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Check your payment details carefully and call them ASAP!

•Oh no, that sounds like a nightmare! I triple-checked my banking info and it's all correct on the payment details page. Did they give you any explanation for why it happened?

•Nope! Just said it was a "system issue" whatever that means. Typical ESD nonsense. I swear they make everything 10x more complicated than it needs to be.

Current ESD payment processing is taking longer than normal. While the status changes to 'paid' once approved, the actual ACH transfer to your bank can take 3-5 business days normally, and up to 7 business days during high volume periods. A few things to check: 1. Verify your payment method is set to direct deposit (not debit card) 2. Double-check that your banking information is correct 3. Look at your payment details to see if there's any listed deductions 4. Make sure you haven't reached your benefit year end date If you don't receive payment by Friday (which would be 7 business days including today), I recommend contacting ESD directly. They can verify if the payment was actually processed or if there's an issue that needs resolution.

•Thank you for such detailed information! Everything you mentioned checks out on my account - direct deposit is selected, banking info is correct, no unexpected deductions, and I'm only 3 months into my benefit year. I guess I'll wait until Friday before panicking.

•Have either of you tried using Claimyr to reach an actual person at ESD? I was in the same situation last month and it helped me get through right away instead of calling 50 times. Just went to claimyr.com and they connected me to an agent in about 30 minutes. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 - saved me hours of frustration and the agent was able to push my payment through immediately once I explained the situation.

I've been on UI since November and I've noticed the payment timing is really inconsistent lately. Sometimes it's next day, sometimes it's 4-5 days. If your banking info is correct and you don't have any alerts or messages about issues with your claim, it's probably just in the processing queue. Also, remember that even though it shows as 'paid' on 1/27, that was a Friday, so the bank processing likely didn't start until Monday (1/30). Then add 1-3 business days for ACH processing. I'd expect it to arrive by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

•You're right about the weekend timing. I just got nervous since my previous payments were always super quick. It's helpful to hear that others are experiencing varying timeframes too. I'll try to be patient!

UPDATE: The money finally hit my account this morning! So it took exactly 5 business days from when the status changed to 'paid'. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance. For anyone else experiencing this - it seems like ESD payments are definitely taking longer than they used to.
