If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't listen to these ppl saying its normal. It's NOT normal! You need to call ESD asap bc they might have sent ur backpay to the wrong account or a ReliaCard. This happened 2 my friend n she never got her money bc she waited 2 long to report it. The system is totally broken n they make these "mistakes" on purpose hoping ppl don't notice!!! The govt doesn't want to pay us what they owe!!

While it's always good to be vigilant about your benefits, this delay is actually quite common with ESD backpay processing. The system does typically process current and back payments separately. If the OP verified their payment information is correct in eServices and the payment status shows 'paid', there's a high probability the money is simply in processing. Waiting a few more business days before calling is reasonable advice.

Whatever!! My cousin waited n waited n NEVER got his money. But sure, trust the broken system if u want! 🙄

Just wanted to update you all - my backpay finally hit my account this morning! It came as one lump sum for all 4 weeks. Exactly 6 business days after showing 'paid' in the system. Such a relief! Thanks for all the reassurance that this was normal - saved me a lot of stress.

Great news! Thanks for updating the thread - it's helpful for others who might find themselves in the same situation. Glad it worked out as expected.

congrats!!! now u can catch up on bills! ESD is so frustrating but at least u got ur money finally!!!

I check eServices obsessively - multiple times a day. There are no alerts, action items, or new correspondence. The last thing in my correspondence folder is the confirmation that they received my additional documentation back in March. That's part of what's so frustrating - there's literally nothing for me to respond to or act on.

just wanna say im sorry ur going thru this. the system is totally broken. i hope u get it resolved soon. dont give up!!!

Here's the exact process you need to follow: 1. Have your employer submit the standby extension request ASAP (they can do this through their employer account) 2. Continue filing your weekly claims exactly as before, answering "yes" to the standby question 3. If your standby expires before the extension is processed, you'll temporarily need to conduct and document 3 job search activities per week 4. Once the extension is approved, you'll go back to standby status and the job search requirement will be waived again Also, make sure your employer provides an accurate return-to-work date. If that date changes again, they'll need to update ESD. The maximum standby period for construction workers is 12 weeks in a 12-month period, so plan accordingly if you think this project might face further delays.

Thank you for the detailed steps! I'll talk to my employer tomorrow. One last question - do I need to keep doing the "able and available" certification each week while on standby?

0 coins

Yes, you still need to answer the "able and available" questions each week. Even on standby, you must be physically able to work and available to return to your job if called back. The only requirement that's waived during standby is the job search activities. Make sure you answer all the weekly claim questions accurately to avoid any issues with your benefits.

Got it! Thanks for all the help everyone. I'll talk to my employer tomorrow about extending the standby and keep filing my weekly claims as usual in the meantime.

wait did u answer all the questions right on the phone? sometimes i accidentally press the wrong button and it seems like it went thru but it didnt actually file. make sure when u call that u stay on until it says "thank you your claim has been filed" or someting like that at the very end

0 coins

Yeah, I definitely got to the end where it said my claim was successfully submitted. I answered all the questions about job search activities and being able/available to work. That's why I'm confused about why it's not showing up online yet.

Just checking back - did your claim update in the system yet? It should show as filed by now if you did it yesterday morning.

Yes! It finally updated this morning. Took about 30 hours to show up in the system. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance! Next time I'll file online to avoid the stress.

THE AGENCIES ARE ALL SCAMS!!!! They take 40-60% of what clients pay for your work and then try to keep you trapped with these BS "bench pay" schemes. I went through THREE AGENCIES before finding a direct-hire position. They'll fight your unemployment claim no matter what because their business model depends on desperate contractors. The whole system is rigged against workers!!

I definitely feel frustrated about how much they take from my contract rate! Though I've heard some agencies are better than others. Did you manage to get any unemployment benefits during your transitions between agencies?

I did get benefits but ONLY after they actually terminated me for "not being a team player" (aka refusing terrible contracts). Then there was no question about eligibility. But it took 6 WEEKS of adjudication because they initially tried to claim I was fired for misconduct. Have documentation for EVERYTHING.

Based on everything shared here, it seems like your best options are: 1. After your contract ends, accept the bench pay temporarily while applying for partial unemployment benefits AND searching for jobs independently 2. Document everything - the contract end date, communications about assignments, your job search efforts 3. If you do decide to quit later, focus on the substantial pay reduction as your "good cause" reason 4. Keep the relationship professional with the agency - don't mention unemployment to them if possible This approach gives you some income while job searching and potentially preserves the relationship if you need to go back later.

Thank you for summarizing! This approach makes a lot of sense. I'll start by accepting the bench pay after my contract ends, apply for partial unemployment, and continue my job search. If things aren't working out after a month or two, I can reevaluate whether to formally quit. Really appreciate everyone's insights!
