If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I've been on UI since November and I've noticed the payment timing is really inconsistent lately. Sometimes it's next day, sometimes it's 4-5 days. If your banking info is correct and you don't have any alerts or messages about issues with your claim, it's probably just in the processing queue. Also, remember that even though it shows as 'paid' on 1/27, that was a Friday, so the bank processing likely didn't start until Monday (1/30). Then add 1-3 business days for ACH processing. I'd expect it to arrive by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

You're right about the weekend timing. I just got nervous since my previous payments were always super quick. It's helpful to hear that others are experiencing varying timeframes too. I'll try to be patient!

UPDATE: The money finally hit my account this morning! So it took exactly 5 business days from when the status changed to 'paid'. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance. For anyone else experiencing this - it seems like ESD payments are definitely taking longer than they used to.

ESD is the WORST with these timing issues!!! My claim ended last year and they DENIED my final week even though I filed it properly! It took THREE APPEALS and 2 months to finally get my money. Their system is completely broken and inconsistent. Don't count on that money until it's actually in your account.

While some claimants do experience complications, what you're describing is not the standard experience. There was likely a specific eligibility issue with your final week that triggered the denial - perhaps related to job search requirements or availability for work. The timing itself (filing for the week ending on the benefit year end date) is generally not problematic.

They claimed I didn't do enough job searches that week even though I DID and uploaded everything! Their system just randomly flags people I swear. But OK whatever believe what you want...

hey did ur payment come thru yet?? curious what happened

Yes! Great news - the payment just hit my account this morning! Same amount as usual. So for anyone with the same question in the future, YES, ESD does pay for the final week even when it ends on the exact same day as your benefit year expiration. Thanks everyone for your help!

Just to add some clarity here - VA benefits and workers comp are reported differently on your taxes too. VA disability is usually tax-free while workers comp can affect your unemployment calculation. Thats why ESD asks about them seperately and why its important to answer accurately on which benefits your getting.

0 coins

That's a great point about the tax differences. This is also why ESD's systems treat these benefits differently when calculating your weekly benefit amount. VA disability generally doesn't reduce unemployment benefits, while workers comp often does.

Update: I was able to get through to ESD this morning! The agent told me that VA benefits are definitely NOT considered workers compensation, and she helped me correct my weekly claim. She said this is actually a pretty common mistake, especially for veterans who are filing unemployment for the first time. My payment should process normally now with the correction. Thanks everyone for your help and advice!

Great news! Glad you got it sorted out quickly. For future reference, always answer 'no' to that workers comp question unless you're specifically receiving L&I payments for a workplace injury.

I HATE how they do this to people!!!! 10 WEEKS is CRIMINAL when rent is due NOW. The whole system is designed to wear us down so we give up. I had a determination that took 2 months and it was just because my former employer contested it with totally FALSE information. Even after I was approved, they held my payments for "verification" for another 3 weeks!!!! Don't get your hopes up with these people. They're totally incompetent and don't care if we end up homeless while they take their sweet time.

0 coins

Ugh that sounds awful! Did you eventually get all your back payments? I'm owed over $5,200 at this point if I get approved.

I can clarify a few things about what you're seeing in your account: 1. A determination dated today means a decision has been finalized on your claim 2. The "waiting week" status for your first week is significant - this is only established for claims that are approved (denied claims don't set up a waiting week) 3. The "processing" status on subsequent weeks suggests the system is preparing to issue payment It's very likely you've been approved based on these indicators. The determination letters typically appear in your online account within 24 hours of the decision date. ESD does indeed run most of their system updates overnight between approximately 11pm-3am. Once your claim is approved, the payment process typically takes 2-3 business days. Continue filing your weekly claims during this period.

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation! I checked this morning and my letter is there - I GOT APPROVED!!! All my weeks now show "paid" status. Words can't express my relief right now. Thank you everyone for your help and support through this nightmare!

i had the OPPOSITE problem with ESD last year lol. i WASNT in school & they somehow marked me AS attending school & disqualified me. took 6 calls & 2 months to fix. double check all your weekly claims to make sure you answered the school question correctly each week?

0 coins

I definitely double-checked my answers before submitting each week. I answered "yes" to the school question and explained that I was taking evening classes that wouldn't interfere with full-time work. Maybe that's where things went wrong? Should I have answered "no" since the classes don't affect my work availability?

0 coins

Actually, that might be part of the problem. When you answer "yes" to attending school, the system often flags your claim for review because it assumes you might not be available for work. This is why many people recommend applying for Training Benefits approval before starting classes. For now, I recommend: 1. File your appeal right away (30-day deadline!) 2. Try to reach an ESD agent (using Claimyr or persistent calling) 3. Keep filing weekly claims, but be consistent with your answers 4. Gather documentation showing your availability despite school And don't get discouraged - many people successfully overturn these kinds of disqualifications when they can prove the school schedule doesn't interfere with work availability.

0 coins

This is all excellent advice. One more thing: when you file your appeal, specifically request back payment for all those weeks you were filing. If your appeal is successful, ESD should pay you for all properly filed weeks retroactively. Just make sure you don't miss any weekly filings while waiting for the appeal decision.
