ESD says PAID but no money in bank yet - normal waiting time?
Hi everyone, I'm kinda stressing out here. I checked my ESD account and my weekly claim from Sunday is showing as 'PAID' status, but there's still no money in my bank account yet. This is only my 3rd payment so I'm not sure if this is normal? Does it usually take an extra day for the $ to hit your account after it says PAID? I've got rent coming up and I'm cutting it close this month. Anyone know if I should expect the deposit tomorrow or should I be calling ESD about this? Thanks!!!

This is completely normal. ESD processes payments in batches, and even after it shows as 'PAID' in the system, it usually takes 1-2 business days for the money to appear in your bank account. Since you filed on Sunday and it already shows as paid, you should definitely see the deposit tomorrow (Tuesday) or Wednesday at the latest, depending on your bank's processing speed. No need to call ESD about this unless it hasn't arrived by Thursday.

•Thank you soooo much for the quick reply! That's a huge relief. I'll check again tomorrow morning then. Fingers crossed it comes through!

Yeah don't worry about it yet. Sometimes my bank shows the deposit pending a day before it actually posts. You might want to check if your bank shows any pending transactions. For me, it usually takes 24-48 hours after ESD says "paid" before the money is actually usable in my account. Direct deposit timing can also depend on which bank you use - smaller credit unions sometimes take an extra day compared to big banks.

•exactly what i was going to say! my credit union always takes a full extra day compared to when my husband gets his at chase. something about processing times.

DUDE I WAS FREAKING OUT ABOUT THE SAME THING LAST MONTH!!! The ESD website said PAID but nothing in my account for like 2 days and I was calling my bank like a crazy person. Turns out it's just how the system works. ESD marks it paid when they send it but then there's all this processing garbage that happens behind the scenes. It's stupid they don't explain this better!!!

If you're really concerned and need to talk to someone at ESD (which honestly might not be necessary in this case), I recently used a service called Claimyr that got me through to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. It helped me resolve an adjudication issue that was holding up my payments. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Their website is claimyr.com. But in your situation, I'd probably just wait until tomorrow before trying anything else.

•This seems unnecessary for what is likely just standard processing time. The ESD phone lines should be reserved for people with actual claim issues, not normal payment processing inquiries. OP should wait the standard 48 hours before considering any action.

Just checking - are you sure you have direct deposit set up correctly? When I first filed my banking info was entered wrong and my payment got delayed. You can verify your banking details in your ESD account under payment method.

•Yes, I double-checked and my banking info is correct. I've already received two payments before, they just seemed to come through faster than this one.

To provide some technical context: ESD processes claims using a batch system. The "PAID" status means your payment has been approved and queued for transfer, but there are several steps after that before the money reaches your account: 1. ESD's batch payment system processes the transfer (usually overnight) 2. The ACH network receives and routes the payment 3. Your bank receives the payment instruction 4. Your bank processes and posts the deposit This typically takes 24-48 hours after the "PAID" status appears. Banking holidays can extend this timeline. If you filed on Sunday and it shows PAID already, that's actually quite efficient processing by ESD standards. The money should appear by Wednesday at the latest under normal circumstances.

UPDATE: The money just hit my account this morning! Thanks everyone for the reassurance. It was exactly as you all said - just had to wait for the bank processing part. Glad I didn't waste time trying to call ESD about it!
