TWC office hours on Memorial Day - will payment requests process today?

Does anyone know if the TWC offices are open today (Memorial Day)? I submitted my payment request yesterday afternoon and usually see some kind of update by now, but nothing's showing up in my account. Trying to figure out if they're just closed for the holiday or if there's an issue with my claim I should worry about. Also, has anyone who submitted payment requests over the weekend received any updates today? Getting kinda anxious since rent is due soon and I'm counting on this payment.

TWC is closed today for the holiday. No processing happening till tomorrow.

Thanks for confirming! So should I expect my payment to be delayed by a day compared to normal?

The Texas Workforce Commission offices are closed today for Memorial Day, which is a federal holiday. Their customer service lines won't be operating, and payment requests won't be processed until tomorrow. This won't affect your claim status - it'll just delay processing by one business day. If you submitted your payment request on Sunday, you'll likely see it process on Tuesday, with funds arriving Wednesday or Thursday depending on your payment method (direct deposit is faster than the TWC debit card). The online system is still accessible for checking status or submitting new payment requests, but nothing will update until their systems process batches tomorrow morning.

You're partially right - some automated systems do continue running during holidays, but the full processing cycle for new payment requests requires staff oversight for certain steps. Some previously approved recurring payments might process, but new requests typically wait for the next business day. It varies based on when in the processing cycle the holiday falls.

I'm in the same boat as you!!! Filed my payment request yesterday morning and NOTHING is showing up yet. Getting so worried because my car payment is due Wednesday and I NEED this money to clear. Does anyone know if the holiday means our payments will be delayed by just one day or could it be longer???

Holidays usually just push everything back one day. At least that's what happened when I claimed over Easter weekend. Don't panic yet!

The TWC is 100% CLOSED today - just like EVERY federal holiday. And guess what? When you finally DO get someone on the phone tomorrow, they'll probably tell you some excuse about why your payment is delayed another week! The whole system is designed to make us wait as long as possible. I've been fighting with them for MONTHS about an appeal and they keep saying "it's processing" - yeah right! Good luck getting your money this week.

I understand your frustration with the TWC system, but payment processing delays due to holidays are actually pretty standardized. Payment requests submitted Sunday-Monday will typically process Tuesday, with deposits occurring 2-3 business days after processing. While appeals can definitely get caught in lengthy review processes, regular payment requests usually follow a more predictable schedule once you're approved.

Just checked my email and spam folder but nothing yet. I'm guessing it depends on exactly when you submit and where it falls in their processing cycle? Glad yours went through though!

TWC offices are officially closed today for Memorial Day. Their payment processing system usually works like this: - Payment requests undergo initial automated processing - Then require staff review for final approval - Then batch processing for fund distribution occurs Since you submitted your request on Sunday, it would normally process Monday with funds arriving Tuesday-Wednesday. With the holiday, expect everything to shift forward one day - processing on Tuesday, with funds arriving Wednesday-Thursday. If you're worried about reaching TWC for other issues, I recently used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get through to an actual TWC representative when I couldn't get past the busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh - it saved me hours of redial frustration when I needed to clear up an ID.me verification problem.

That's really helpful information, thanks! I'll keep an eye out for processing tomorrow then. And I'll check out that Claimyr thing if I need to call them - I spent 2 hours trying to get through last month and eventually gave up.

This happens every holiday. Nothing to worry about.

My brother-in-law works at TWC and said they're always closed on federal holidays but the computer systems still run some basic stuff. But anything requiring human review waits till next day.

Sure he does...and I bet he also told you that they're "working hard" to process claims. Meanwhile people are waiting WEEKS for basic updates. The whole system is broken!

i'm just wondering if we still have to do the work search requirements for this week even tho yesterday was a holiday? do we get to count one less day or still need all 3 activities?

You still need to complete all three work search activities for the week. Holidays don't reduce the required number of work search activities. TWC calculates these requirements on a weekly basis, not daily, so federal holidays don't change the total needed. Make sure you're documenting all your work search activities in case you get selected for a random work search audit!

Thanks everyone for the responses! Feeling much better knowing it's just the holiday causing the delay. I'll watch for updates tomorrow and expect the deposit a day later than usual. Really appreciate all the information!
