TWC ID.me verification emails not coming through - can't reset password

So frustrated with ID.me right now! I'm trying to access my TWC unemployment account but ID.me is giving me nightmares. Apparently I already have an ID.me account (which I vaguely remember creating last year), but when I try to reset the password, I NEVER receive the reset email. I've clicked 'resend email' like 20 times over the past two days, checked my spam folder, trash, everything. Nothing shows up! I called TWC and they just told me that the email I use for my unemployment account needs to match my ID.me email. I'm 100% sure I'm using the correct email address. I've tried all the troubleshooting on their FAQ page - cleared cache, cookies, tried different browsers, even tried on my phone instead of computer. Still nothing. Is ID.me having system issues right now? Has anyone else run into this recently? I need to submit my payment request by Friday and I'm seriously panicking. Any suggestions for getting past this ID.me nightmare?

I had this EXACT issue last month. The problem is that some email providers are blocking ID.me emails completely, not even sending them to spam. Gmail and Yahoo seem to work fine but if you're using Outlook or a smaller provider, that might be the issue. What worked for me was: 1. Add no-reply@id.me and support@id.me to your contacts/safe senders list 2. Try resetting password during non-peak hours (early morning worked for me) 3. If that fails, you can create a new Gmail account, then call TWC to update your email address on file, then create a new ID.me account with that Gmail Hope this helps!

Thank you! I am using Outlook actually... that must be it. I'll try adding those emails to my contacts right now. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll go the Gmail route, but ugh, so much extra work just to access my account. 😩

THIS IS BY DESIGN!! The whole ID.me system is designed to make claiming benefits harder!! I went thru this last fall and wasted 3 WEEKS trying to get it fixed. TWC keeps saying "it's not our system" and ID.me says "contact TWC" and meanwhile NO BENEFITS!! The system is LITERALLY designed to frustrate people into giving up on their benefits!!

i mean maybe but i think its just bad programming lol. my cousin works in IT and says id.me is just poorly designed. but ya it sucks

Bad programming IS THE DESIGN!! They could fix it if they wanted to but they DON'T!! Wake up people!!

Have you tried contacting ID.me directly instead of TWC? Their customer support is actually pretty responsive if you use their help form. Go to help.id.me and submit a ticket explaining you're unable to receive password reset emails for your TWC unemployment verification. Include screenshots if possible. Also, sometimes the ID.me system gets overloaded, especially at the beginning/end of the month when lots of people are trying to verify for benefits. Try very early morning (like 5am) or late evening (after 9pm) when their systems might be less busy.

I actually tried their help form yesterday but haven't heard back. Maybe I'll try again with more details and screenshots like you suggested. The timing idea is smart too - I've been trying middle of the day. I'll set an alarm for 5am tomorrow and see if that helps.

Same. And then after creating a new email, I had to wait for TWC to update it in their system which took almost a full week. The whole time I couldn't request payments. Such a headache. To the original poster: if you need to get through to TWC quickly to update your email, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me past the busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Saved me hours of redial frustration and got my email updated so I could finally verify with ID.me.

Are you 100% sure you're using the right email address for your ID.me account? I thought I was using the right one but turned out I had created my account with my old work email that I rarely check anymore. Might be worth considering if you have multiple email addresses. Also, ID.me has a recovery option using your phone number if you've previously linked one to your account. Look for the "more options" link on the login screen. Sometimes that's easier than dealing with emails.

Thanks for the suggestion. I only have the one email that I use for everything, so I'm pretty sure that's not it. But I didn't know about the phone recovery option! I'll definitely look for that "more options" link. Really appreciate the tip.

Just checking in - were you able to get this resolved? I'm curious which solution ended up working for you.

YES! Finally fixed it this morning! The early morning timing suggestion actually worked. I tried at 5:30am and the reset email came through right away. Must be less system load or something. Successfully reset my password and got into my account. Already submitted my payment request for this week. Thanks everyone for the help!

That's awesome! I'm dealing with a similar ID.me issue right now and was getting so frustrated. Definitely going to try the early morning approach - never would have thought system load could make such a difference. Really glad you got it sorted out before your deadline!
