TWC login keeps rejecting password after reset - temp password not working either
I'm at my wit's end trying to access my TWC unemployment account! The system forced me to reset my password yesterday, but now every time I try to log in it says "password and username do not match" even though I'm 100% sure I'm typing everything correctly. I've even requested the temporary password from TWC and tried using that instead, but still getting locked out. Has anyone else dealt with this recently? I need to submit my payment request by tomorrow and I'm freaking out that I'll miss it. Any suggestions on how to fix this login loop from hell?

•Thanks, I'll try Firefox. Did you have to wait a certain amount of time between attempts? I'm worried about getting completely locked out.

This is a common issue with the TWC system, especially after their recent website updates. Here's what you need to do: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies completely 2. Wait at least 30 minutes before trying again (the system needs time to process the reset) 3. Make sure you're using the EXACT temporary password - it's case sensitive 4. Try typing your username and password in a text editor first, then copy/paste to avoid typos 5. If you're still locked out after trying these steps, you might need to call TWC to have them manually reset your account

•Thank you for the detailed instructions! I just cleared my cache and I'll wait the 30 minutes. I didn't realize there was a processing time needed. Crossing my fingers this works.

Are you typing your SSN correctly? I always mess up and put dashes in mine and it rejects it. Also make sure caps lock isnt on for the password!

•I double-checked the SSN format - no dashes. And good point about caps lock, I'll make sure it's off! Thanks for the suggestions.

The TWC login system is GARBAGE!!!! This happens to me literally EVERY OTHER MONTH. Their tech team obviously doesn't care about fixing it. I've had to call them 3 times this year already just to reset my account. Good luck getting through on the phone though - you'll be on hold for 4+ hours if you even get through at all. This state seriously needs to invest in better unemployment systems instead of making it impossible for people to access benefits they're ENTITLED TO.

I work with TWC claims frequently, and this login issue typically happens when there's a synchronization problem between the password reset system and the main database. Follow these steps in this exact order: 1. Wait a full hour after requesting a reset (the system batch-processes these) 2. Use the temporary password with exact capitalization 3. When prompted to create a new password, do NOT use any special characters - stick to letters and numbers only 4. Avoid using any part of your previous passwords If you're still having trouble after trying those steps, there may be a security flag on your account that requires agent assistance. Unfortunately, the regular TWC phone lines are extremely busy and you might not get through in time for your payment request deadline.

•Thank you for the expert advice! I didn't know about avoiding special characters - I always use those for security. I'll try a simpler password format when I get to that step. Really hope this works because my payment request is due tomorrow.

I had this EXACT issue last week and wasted 2 days trying to fix it myself. After trying literally everything (different browsers, clearing cache, waiting overnight), I finally got through to TWC using Claimyr.com - it got me connected to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of calling for hours. The agent had to unlock my account from their end because apparently after too many failed attempts, the system puts a 24-hour security hold that only they can remove. You can see how it works in this video: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Totally worth it since I was about to miss my payment request deadline too.

•Oh wow, I've never heard of that service before. I'll check out the video. At this point I'm desperate enough to try anything. Did they fix your account right away once you got through?

•Yes! The TWC agent fixed it immediately. Turns out my account had a security flag because of too many login attempts (even though it wasn't that many). They removed the hold and had me reset the password while on the phone with them. Was able to submit my payment request right after.

maybe try calling the tele-serv number instead? sometimes you can request payment that way even if you cant get into the website. the number is 800-558-8321. just use your ssn and pin

•That's a good backup plan! I forgot about the Tele-Serv option. At least I could get my payment request in that way if I can't fix the website login. Thank you!

Just checking back - were you able to solve your login issue? If you're still having problems, make sure you're going to the correct TWC login page. They recently changed some URLs and sometimes Google search results point to outdated pages.

•Great news! I finally got in! I followed all the advice here - cleared cache, waited an hour, used a simpler password without special characters, and made sure I was on the correct login page. Took 3 attempts but it finally worked. I've already submitted my payment request, so I'm good for another two weeks. Thanks everyone for your help!

Glad you got it sorted out! For future reference, I've found that TWC's system also has issues if you're using a VPN or if your IP address changes frequently. Sometimes switching to mobile data or a different network can help if you're still getting locked out after trying all the browser fixes. Also, pro tip - screenshot your successful login page once you get in, so you know you're always going to the right URL next time!

•That's really smart advice about the VPN and IP address issues! I never would have thought of that. The screenshot tip is brilliant too - I'm definitely doing that. It's so frustrating that we have to jump through all these hoops just to access our own benefits, but at least now I have a whole toolkit of solutions for next time this inevitably happens again.

I just went through this same nightmare last week! The TWC login system is so finicky. One thing that worked for me that I don't see mentioned yet - try logging in during off-peak hours like early morning (6-8 AM) or late evening (after 9 PM). The system seems to have fewer glitches when there's less traffic. Also, if you're on a work computer or shared network, sometimes their firewall settings interfere with the TWC site. I had to use my personal phone's hotspot to finally get through. Hope this helps someone else avoid the stress!

•That's such a good point about timing! I never thought about the system being overloaded during peak hours. I was trying to log in around lunchtime when probably everyone else was too. The work network interference thing makes total sense as well - I bet a lot of people run into that issue. Thanks for sharing these tips, they could definitely save someone a lot of headache in the future!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Been locked out for 3 days and getting desperate since my payment request deadline is coming up fast. I tried most of the suggestions here but still no luck. One thing I noticed is that when I request a password reset, the email comes from a different domain than it used to - has anyone else noticed this? I'm wondering if they changed their email system and maybe that's why the temporary passwords aren't syncing properly with the login database. Going to try the Tele-Serv backup option mentioned by @Marcelle Drum while I keep troubleshooting the website login. This whole system is such a mess!

•I noticed the same thing about the email domain change! I think that might be part of the problem - it seems like they updated their email system but didn't properly sync it with the login database. When I was having issues, the temporary password in the email worked but only after waiting almost 2 hours instead of the usual 30 minutes. Definitely try the Tele-Serv option as backup - that number @Marcelle Drum shared 800-558-8321 (saved) me when I was in a similar time crunch. You just need your SSN and PIN, and it s'way more reliable than the website. Hope you get it sorted out before your deadline!

I just want to add one more potential solution that helped me when I was stuck in this same login nightmare - check if you have any browser extensions that might be interfering! I had a password manager extension that was auto-filling my old password even after I cleared my cache. I had to disable all extensions and try logging in with a completely clean browser session. Also, make sure you're not copying and pasting the temporary password with any extra spaces - I learned this the hard way after failing multiple times only to realize there was an invisible space at the end. The TWC system is incredibly sensitive to even the smallest formatting issues. Really glad to see @Jungleboo Soletrain got their issue resolved - gives me hope that this system isn't completely broken, just extremely finicky!

•Great point about browser extensions! I never would have thought of that. Password managers can definitely cause issues like that. I've also noticed that some ad blockers and privacy extensions can interfere with the TWC login process too. When I was troubleshooting my own login issues, I had to try incognito/private browsing mode to rule out extension interference. The invisible space issue is so sneaky - I bet that trips up a lot of people! It's frustrating that the system is so picky about formatting, but at least we're all building a good knowledge base here for future reference.

I've been lurking in this community for a while dealing with similar TWC issues, and this thread is pure gold! Just wanted to add that if you're still having problems after trying all these great suggestions, there's one more thing to check - make sure your browser isn't blocking third-party cookies. The TWC login system uses some kind of session tracking that requires cookies to be enabled. I spent hours troubleshooting before realizing my privacy settings were too strict. Also, if you use multiple devices (phone, tablet, computer), try logging out of ALL devices first before attempting the password reset. Sometimes the system gets confused if there are multiple active sessions. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it's really helpful to know we're not alone in this struggle with their buggy system!

•This is such valuable information! The third-party cookies issue is one I haven't seen mentioned before and it makes total sense. I bet a lot of people have strict privacy settings that would block those without realizing it's causing login problems. The multiple device session conflict is also really insightful - I usually have TWC open on both my phone and laptop, so I could definitely see how that might confuse their system. Thanks for sharing these additional troubleshooting steps! It's amazing how many different technical issues can cause the same login symptoms. This whole thread should honestly be pinned as a comprehensive TWC login troubleshooting guide!

Just wanted to share my experience from last month - I had the exact same issue and it turned out to be related to my browser's autocomplete feature. Even after clearing cache and cookies, my browser was still trying to autofill my old username format (I had been using my email instead of just my SSN). Once I manually typed everything fresh without any autofill suggestions, it worked immediately. Also, double-check that you're not accidentally hitting space bar after typing your credentials - I did that without realizing and it kept rejecting my login. The TWC system is super picky about even tiny extra characters. Really glad this thread exists because going through this alone is so stressful when you're worried about missing deadlines!

•Oh wow, the autocomplete issue is something I never considered! That's such a sneaky problem - you think you're typing everything fresh but the browser is still interfering behind the scenes. I've definitely been guilty of accidentally hitting spacebar after passwords before too. It's wild how many tiny technical details can break the TWC login system. This whole thread really should be turned into an official troubleshooting guide because between everyone's experiences we've basically covered every possible scenario. Thanks for adding another piece to the puzzle! @Oliver Fischer - did you have to change any browser settings to prevent the autocomplete from happening again, or did manual typing solve it permanently?

This thread is incredibly helpful! I'm bookmarking it for future reference. One more tip I'd add from my own experience - if you're using a public computer or library computer, make sure to log out completely and clear the browser data when you're done. I once had login issues for weeks because the library computer I used had cached some old session data that was interfering with new login attempts. Also, for anyone still struggling, I've found that the TWC mobile app sometimes works when the website doesn't - it seems to use a slightly different authentication system. Not sure why, but it's saved me a couple times when I was completely locked out of the web portal. Thanks to everyone who shared their solutions!

•This is such a comprehensive collection of solutions! The mobile app tip is brilliant - I had no idea it used different authentication. That could be a real lifesaver when the website is acting up. Your point about public computers is so important too - I bet a lot of people don't realize that cached data from previous users could interfere with their login attempts. It's crazy how many different factors can cause the same login failure symptoms. Between this thread and all the troubleshooting steps everyone has shared, we've basically created the ultimate TWC login survival guide! @Zainab Omar - have you noticed if the mobile app login issues happen less frequently than the website ones?

Wow, this thread has become the ultimate TWC login troubleshooting bible! I'm dealing with similar issues right now and just tried about 5 different suggestions from here. The combination of clearing cache + waiting the full hour + disabling browser extensions finally got me through! I think the key insight from everyone's experiences is that it's usually not just ONE thing causing the problem - it's often multiple factors working together. The TWC system seems incredibly fragile and sensitive to even minor issues. For anyone still struggling, I'd recommend working through these solutions systematically rather than trying random fixes. Also keeping notes on what worked so you don't have to rediscover the solution next time this inevitably happens again. Thanks to everyone who shared their hard-won knowledge - you've probably saved hundreds of people from missing their payment deadlines!

•Absolutely agree that this thread has become the ultimate resource! Your point about it being multiple factors working together is so true - I was making the mistake of trying one fix at a time and getting frustrated when it didn't work immediately. The systematic approach makes so much more sense. I love that you mentioned keeping notes too - I'm definitely going to start documenting what works for me so I don't have to go through this detective process again next time the system inevitably breaks. It's honestly ridiculous that we even need a troubleshooting bible just to access our own unemployment benefits, but I'm grateful this community exists to help each other navigate these technical nightmares. Thanks @Zara Rashid for the reminder to be systematic about it!
