TWC locked me out after wrong password attempts - is visiting office worth it?
So I made the stupidest mistake 3 weeks ago - tried logging into my TWC account without my glasses (I'm practically blind without them). Hit the wrong password like 5 times in a row and got completely locked out. Called the lockout assistance number they provide about 30 times now and it's ALWAYS a busy signal or just disconnects. I've submitted 3 online help tickets through the general portal and sent 2 emails to the address on their contact page. Radio silence. Absolutely nothing. My payment request is due in 2 days and I'm panicking because I can't access anything! Has anyone dealt with this password lockout nightmare? Is it actually worth driving 45 minutes to my local workforce office? Can they even reset account access issues or will they just tell me to "call the number" that nobody answers? I'm at my wit's end here!

•Wait, you can just make a new account?? Won't that mess up my existing claim? All my payment history and everything is tied to my current account.

DO NOT create a new account! That will cause major problems with your existing claim and could trigger a fraud investigation. The local office CAN help with account lockouts, but bring multiple forms of ID (driver's license, SSN card, birth certificate if possible). I'd recommend going in person since this is time-sensitive with your payment request coming up. The in-person staff have access to the admin systems that can verify your identity and reset the account.

•Thank you so much for the advice! I'll gather my documents tonight and head to the office first thing tomorrow. Really appreciate you clearing this up!

I went through EXACTLY this last year. Called that stupid lockout number 50+ times before giving up. The TWC system is DELIBERATELY designed to be impossible to reach anyone!!!! They WANT us to give up and stop claiming benefits. I drove to the office and waited 3 HOURS only to be told they "couldn't help with online account issues" and to "call the number" - THE SAME NUMBER THAT NEVER ANSWERS!!! It's all a giant scam to reduce their benefit payouts.

•I understand your frustration, but this information isn't accurate. The local Workforce Solutions offices absolutely CAN help with account lockouts - it's one of the specific services they provide. However, it depends which office you visit. The smaller satellite locations sometimes don't have full TWC system access, but the main workforce centers definitely do. If you're locked out again, ask specifically for a TWC account specialist who can verify your identity and perform the reset.

Have you tried using the account recovery option on the login page instead of calling? Sometimes that works for lockouts too, not just forgotten passwords.

•Yes, tried that multiple times. It sends a reset link to my email but when I click it and try to create a new password, it says my account is locked and I need to call that useless phone number. It's a frustrating loop!

I'm a former TWC contractor and can confirm that going to the office is your best option right now, especially with a payment request deadline coming up. Bring your ID, social security card, and if possible, a copy of your determination letter or any TWC correspondence with your claim ID number. The account lockout issue is extremely common (happens hundreds of times daily), but it requires identity verification to unlock it for security reasons. Alternatively, if you need to speak to someone at TWC directly by phone before your payment request deadline, check out Claimyr.com - they have a system that navigates the TWC phone tree and gets you in the queue for a callback from an actual agent, usually within a few hours. I've seen it work for many people who were struggling with account issues. There's a quick video demo at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh that shows how it works. Might be worth it if you can't make it to an office in time.

•That's incredibly helpful info! I never knew about the identity verification aspect. Makes sense why they're so strict about it. I'll definitely bring all those documents tomorrow. Has anyone here tried that Claimyr service before? If the office visit doesn't work out I might need a backup plan.

This whole thread is making me nervous. I just filed my claim last week and wrote down my password somewhere but now can't find it. Hope I don't end up in the same boat!

•just write it in your phone notes thats what i do for everything lol

•Please don't store your TWC password in plain text in your phone notes - that's a security risk. Consider using a password manager instead. And if you can't remember your password, use the "Forgot Password" option BEFORE you get locked out from too many attempts.

I just wanted to update everyone! I went to the TWC office this morning with all my documents as suggested. There was about an hour wait, but the staff member was able to verify my identity and unlock my account on the spot! She said they've been overwhelmed with these lockout issues since they implemented stricter security measures in January. For anyone facing the same problem - YES, definitely go to the office! Just make sure it's a main Workforce Solutions center, not a satellite location. Thanks to everyone who helped me figure this out!

•Great news! Glad you got it resolved in time for your payment request. This is why in-person visits are still so important for these systems.

•Lucky you! My local office was totally useless. Guess it really depends on which one you go to and who you talk to. The whole system is still broken!

As someone who's been through this exact situation twice, I can confirm that visiting the office is absolutely worth it! I had the same lockout issue about 6 months ago and the phone support was completely useless. Drove to my local Workforce Solutions office and they had me unlocked within 15 minutes after verifying my identity. The key is to bring your driver's license, Social Security card, and any TWC correspondence you have. Also, try to go early in the morning right when they open - the wait times are much shorter then. Don't waste any more time with that phone number, just go in person before your payment deadline!
