How long does the TWC ReliaCard take to arrive in the mail?

I just got approved for unemployment benefits with TWC last week (thank goodness!) and chose the debit card option instead of direct deposit. The agent mentioned something about a ReliaCard but didn't say how long it would take to arrive. My rent is due in 9 days and I'm getting nervous about timing. Has anyone received their TWC card recently? How many days did it take to show up in your mailbox? I'm in the Dallas area if that matters for mail delivery times.

Mine took exactly 7 business days to arrive last month. They told me 7-10 business days when I called to check on it. If you're worried about your rent, you might want to call TWC directly to see if they can expedite it, though I doubt they can. The ReliaCard is actually issued through US Bank, not directly from TWC.

Thanks for the info! Did you have to activate it when it arrived or was it already ready to use? I'm hoping 7 days is enough time before my rent is due.

3 WEEKS?? Oh no, that would be a disaster for me. Did your cousin call to follow up or anything?

The TWC ReliaCard typically arrives within 7-10 business days after your first payment is processed (not after approval). Important details to know: 1. You won't receive the card until after your first payment is processed 2. You need to activate it when it arrives by calling the number on the sticker 3. You can check if a payment has been issued to the card by logging into your TWC account 4. The card comes in a plain white envelope that can look like junk mail - watch your mailbox carefully! If it's been more than 10 business days since your first payment was processed, you should contact US Bank ReliaCard services at 1-800-657-6343 to check status or request a replacement.

This is super helpful, thank you! I just logged into my TWC account and it shows my first payment was processed yesterday. So I guess that means the 7-10 day countdown starts now, not from when I was approved last week. That's cutting it really close for my rent...

mine came fast but my idiot mailman put it in my neighbors box!!! check with your neighbors if it dosent show up on time. the envelope is really plain looking and doesnt say TWC anywhere on it.

If you're worried about getting your payment in time for rent, I'd recommend trying to get through to TWC directly to see if there are any other options. I was in a similar situation last year and spent days trying to get through their phone lines without success. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to connect with a TWC agent quickly. They have a service that helps you skip the phone queue. I was able to ask about my ReliaCard status and they told me exactly when it had been mailed. They even have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Once I got through to TWC, the agent told me I could also switch to direct deposit for future payments if I wanted faster access to funds, even if the first payment was already being sent to the ReliaCard.

I hadn't heard of Claimyr before but I'll check it out! I've already tried calling TWC three times this week and couldn't get through. Getting a human on the phone would definitely help me figure out exactly when to expect the card.

The whole ReliaCard system is RIDICULOUS!! My card took 12 business days to arrive while I was facing eviction. When I called TWC they just said "we can't control the mail" - VERY HELPFUL!!! 🙄 Then when it finally arrived, I had to spend 45 minutes on the phone with US Bank to activate it because their automated system didn't recognize my info. The entire system is designed to make us suffer as much as possible while waiting for OUR MONEY that WE EARNED through our unemployment insurance!!!!

Quick tip: Once you do get your ReliaCard, you can set up the US Bank ReliaCard mobile app to see when deposits hit your card. You can also transfer money from the card to your personal bank account through the app if you prefer not to use the physical card. The transfer usually takes 2-3 business days but it's free.

Great suggestion about the app! Another option is to link the ReliaCard to Venmo or Cash App once you receive it, which can sometimes be faster than bank transfers for moving money around. Just be careful about transfer limits and fees.

When I got unemployment in October last year, I was also worried about the ReliaCard timing. Mine actually arrived in exactly 5 business days which was faster than I expected. But my situation was probably different than yours since I'm in Houston not Dallas. One thing I wish I'd known sooner - you can call US Bank directly about the card status even before you receive it. Their customer service was actually way more helpful than TWC. The number should be on the TWC website where they explain the ReliaCard program. Hope this helps! Good luck with your rent situation.

Thank you! I'll try calling US Bank directly tomorrow. Hopefully being in Dallas vs Houston doesn't add too much extra mail time. I appreciate all the help from everyone here!

Just wanted to add my experience from last month - my ReliaCard took 8 business days to arrive here in Austin. I was also stressing about rent timing! A few things that helped me: - I tracked my payment status obsessively in the TWC portal and took screenshots showing when it was processed - I called my landlord ahead of time to explain the situation and they were understanding about a few days delay - I set up informed delivery with USPS so I could see when mail was coming to my address each day The card did come in a very plain white envelope that honestly looked like junk mail - I almost threw it away! Make sure to check every piece of mail carefully. Also, activation was pretty quick once I got it, maybe 10 minutes on the phone. Fingers crossed yours arrives quickly! The waiting is the worst part but it will come.

Great advice about calling your landlord ahead of time! I hadn't thought of that but it makes total sense to give them a heads up rather than waiting until the last minute. The informed delivery tip is brilliant too - I'm going to sign up for that right now so I can track when it's coming. Thanks for sharing your experience and for the encouragement!

I received my TWC ReliaCard about 6 weeks ago and it took exactly 9 business days to arrive in San Antonio. Like others mentioned, it comes in a really plain envelope that could easily be mistaken for junk mail - no TWC branding at all. Since you're cutting it close with rent, here are a few things that might help: - Once you get the card, you can use it immediately at ATMs or for purchases while the activation is processing - Many grocery stores and pharmacies will let you get cash back with a small purchase if you need actual cash quickly - If you have a good relationship with your landlord, showing them your TWC payment confirmation might buy you a few extra days The activation process was straightforward for me - just had to call the number on the card and provide some basic info. The whole call took maybe 5-10 minutes. Hope yours arrives soon! The stress of waiting is real but it will come through.

This is really helpful information, thank you! I didn't realize you could use the card right away even during activation - that's a huge relief. I'm definitely going to talk to my landlord tomorrow and show them the TWC payment confirmation like you suggested. It's good to know I'm not the only one who's been stressed about the timing. Hopefully mine arrives closer to the 6-7 day range rather than 9, but at least I have some backup plans now!

I got my ReliaCard in Fort Worth about 2 months ago and it took 6 business days, so being in the Dallas area you should have similar timing. One thing I learned that might help with your rent situation - you can actually ask your landlord if they accept online payments through their portal using a debit card. Many property management companies do this now and it processes immediately once your card is activated. Also, if you're really worried about timing, you could ask a trusted friend or family member to help bridge the gap for a few days if needed. The card WILL come, it's just a matter of whether it arrives before your rent deadline. Make sure to save the TWC customer service number in your phone: 800-939-6631. Even though it's hard to get through, they can at least confirm when your payment was sent to the card company. Good luck!

Thanks for the Fort Worth data point - that's really encouraging since we're in the same metro area! I hadn't thought about asking my landlord about online payment options, that's a great suggestion. They do have an online portal but I always just assumed it was only for checks or ACH transfers. I'll definitely call them tomorrow to see if they accept debit cards too. And you're right about having a backup plan with family/friends just in case. I'm feeling much more prepared now after reading everyone's experiences and advice. Really appreciate you sharing the TWC number too - I'll keep trying to get through to them for confirmation.

I'm going through the exact same situation right now! Just got approved for benefits 5 days ago and chose the ReliaCard option. My first payment was processed 2 days ago according to my TWC account, so I'm in that nerve-wracking waiting period too. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and terrifying at the same time - anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks is quite a range! I called US Bank ReliaCard customer service this morning using the number someone mentioned (1-800-657-6343) and they were actually pretty helpful. They confirmed that my card was mailed yesterday and gave me a tracking-ish timeline of when to expect it. Much more informative than trying to get through to TWC directly. Also signed up for USPS Informed Delivery like someone suggested - great tip! Now I can see what's coming to my mailbox each day without having to anxiously check it multiple times. Fingers crossed we both get our cards quickly! The waiting game is brutal when you have bills due.

Oh wow, we're basically on the exact same timeline! It's so reassuring to know someone else is going through this right now. Thanks for sharing the tip about calling US Bank directly - I had no idea they could give you that kind of tracking info. I'm definitely going to call them tomorrow morning. The USPS Informed Delivery signup is genius too, I just signed up and it looks like it'll save me from obsessively checking my mailbox every few hours. Hoping we both get lucky and our cards arrive on the faster end of that timeline range! Keep me posted on when yours shows up - it'll give me a good sense of what to expect since we're on such similar schedules.

I went through this exact situation about 3 months ago and totally understand the stress! My ReliaCard took 8 business days to arrive in Plano, so Dallas area timing should be similar. A few things that really helped me: - I called my apartment complex as soon as I knew the card was coming and explained the situation. They were surprisingly understanding and gave me a 5-day grace period without late fees - The card arrives in a completely unmarked white envelope that seriously looks like credit card junk mail - I almost tossed mine! - Once it arrives, you can use it immediately at any ATM even before calling to fully activate it (though you should still call to complete activation) Since your first payment was just processed yesterday, you're looking at probably getting the card sometime next week. That's cutting it close but doable. I'd definitely recommend being proactive with your landlord rather than waiting until the last minute. Most property managers have dealt with this situation before, especially over the past few years. The waiting is anxiety-inducing but the card will come! Just keep checking that mailbox carefully and don't throw away any plain white envelopes.

This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you so much for the detailed timeline and practical advice. I'm definitely going to call my landlord first thing tomorrow morning - you're absolutely right that being proactive is way better than scrambling at the last minute. The tip about the plain white envelope is so important too, I'll make sure to check every single piece of mail carefully. It's really reassuring to hear from someone in Plano since that's so close to Dallas. 8 days would put me right at my rent deadline, which is nerve-wracking but manageable if my landlord is understanding about it. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and encouragement!

I'm in a very similar situation and just wanted to share what I learned from calling TWC yesterday. The representative told me that Dallas area mail delivery for ReliaCards typically runs on the faster side - around 6-7 business days - because it's a major metro area with good mail processing. She also mentioned something really important: if you're worried about rent timing, you can request an expedited payment method change AFTER your first payment processes. They can switch you to direct deposit for future payments and sometimes issue a paper check for urgent situations, though there might be a small processing fee. Another tip - if you bank with a major bank like Chase, Wells Fargo, or Bank of America, some of their ATMs will let you deposit the ReliaCard funds directly into your account immediately once you get it, rather than waiting 2-3 days for a transfer. Definitely call your landlord ahead of time though. Most property managers are familiar with unemployment payment delays and will work with you if you're upfront about it. Good luck!

This is incredibly helpful information, thank you so much! I had no idea that TWC could potentially switch me to direct deposit after the first payment or even issue a paper check in urgent situations. That's a huge relief to know there might be backup options if the card doesn't arrive in time. The tip about major bank ATMs allowing immediate deposits is brilliant too - I bank with Chase so I'll definitely look into that once I get the card. It's also really encouraging to hear that Dallas area delivery tends to be on the faster side. I'm feeling much more optimistic about the timing now. I'm definitely calling my landlord tomorrow morning to give them a heads up and see if they can be flexible on the timing. Thanks for sharing what you learned from TWC - this kind of detailed info is exactly what I was hoping to find!

I just went through this exact same process a few weeks ago in Arlington (also DFW area) and wanted to share my timeline to hopefully ease your stress a bit! My first payment was processed on a Tuesday and the ReliaCard arrived the following Wednesday - so exactly 6 business days. A couple of things that really helped me during the waiting period: - I downloaded the US Bank ReliaCard app ahead of time so I could set it up immediately when the card arrived - I took screenshots of my TWC payment status every day to document the timeline in case I needed to show my landlord - I prepared a brief email to my property manager explaining the situation before I actually needed to send it The card really does look like junk mail - mine came in a white envelope with just a return address that said "US Bank" in small print. I almost missed it because I was expecting something more official looking! Since your payment processed yesterday and you're in Dallas, I'd guess you'll see it by early next week. That should give you just enough time before rent is due. Definitely reach out to your landlord proactively though - most are pretty understanding about unemployment payment delays these days. Keep us posted on when it arrives! Rooting for you! 🤞

This is so helpful to hear from someone in Arlington! 6 business days would be perfect timing for me. I love your suggestion about downloading the US Bank app ahead of time - I'm going to do that right now so I'm ready to go as soon as the card arrives. Taking screenshots of the payment status is really smart too, that gives me concrete proof to show my landlord if needed. It's funny how everyone keeps mentioning how the envelope looks like junk mail - I'll definitely be extra careful checking every piece of mail over the next week. Thanks for the encouragement and for sharing such a detailed timeline from the DFW area. It really helps to know what to expect! I'll definitely update everyone when mine arrives.

I'm new to this community but wanted to share my recent experience since I see you're in a similar situation! I just received my TWC ReliaCard last week here in Richardson (also Dallas area) and it took exactly 7 business days from when my first payment was processed to arrival. A few things I learned that might help: - The envelope really is super plain - it just says "US Bank" in tiny letters and looks like credit card offers - You can actually check the status by calling US Bank at 1-800-657-6343 even before you receive it - I was able to use the card at an ATM immediately after it arrived, even before completing the full phone activation Since your payment was processed yesterday, you're looking at getting it sometime next week if the timing is similar to mine. That should hopefully work out for your rent deadline! I'd definitely recommend calling your landlord to give them a heads up about the potential delay - most are pretty understanding about unemployment payment timing issues. The waiting is stressful but it will come! Keep checking that mailbox carefully and don't throw away any plain white envelopes. Good luck! 🤞

Thank you so much for sharing your Richardson experience! It's really reassuring to hear from someone so close to my area with such a clear timeline. 7 business days would put me right at my deadline, which is definitely manageable. I really appreciate the tip about being able to use the card at ATMs immediately - that could be a lifesaver if I need cash quickly. I'm definitely going to call that US Bank number tomorrow to check on the status. Your advice about calling my landlord is spot on too - I've been putting it off but I know being proactive is the right move. Thanks for the encouragement and for taking the time to share such helpful details as a newcomer to the community!

I received my TWC ReliaCard about 4 months ago in Garland (also Dallas metro) and it took 6 business days to arrive. Since your first payment processed yesterday, you should hopefully receive it by next Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. A few tips that might help with your tight timeline: - Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery immediately so you can see what mail is coming each day - Call your landlord TODAY to explain the situation - most are understanding about unemployment delays - Keep the US Bank ReliaCard number handy: 1-800-657-6343 (they can track your card status) - The envelope looks like total junk mail - just plain white with "US Bank" in tiny print If you're still cutting it close on rent day, remember that once the card arrives you can use it immediately at ATMs for cash, even during the activation process. Some landlords also accept online payments through debit cards which process instantly. The waiting is nerve-wracking but Dallas area delivery is usually pretty reliable. You've got this! Let us know when it arrives.

This is exactly the kind of detailed, local information I was hoping to find! Garland is so close to where I am, and 6 business days would be perfect timing. I just signed up for USPS Informed Delivery like you and others suggested - what a game changer that's going to be for my anxiety levels! I'm definitely calling my landlord first thing tomorrow morning. You're absolutely right that I shouldn't wait any longer to have that conversation. It's so helpful to have all these backup options like ATM access and potential online payments if I do get the card right at the deadline. Thank you for the encouragement and for sharing your experience from the Dallas metro area - it really helps to hear from someone who went through this so recently in basically the same location!

I'm currently going through the same waiting process as you! Got approved for TWC benefits two weeks ago and chose the ReliaCard option. My first payment was processed 5 days ago and I've been obsessively checking my mailbox ever since. Based on what I've learned from calling US Bank directly (highly recommend doing this!), Dallas area delivery is typically 6-8 business days from when the payment is processed, not from when you're approved. The customer service rep at 1-800-657-6343 was actually really helpful and could see exactly when my card was mailed. One thing that's helped my anxiety is setting up USPS Informed Delivery - now I can see what mail is coming each day without having to check the mailbox multiple times. Also, I proactively called my landlord to explain the situation and they were totally understanding about a few days delay. The plain white envelope thing is real - my neighbor got hers last month and said she almost threw it away because it looked exactly like a credit card offer. No TWC branding at all, just tiny "US Bank" text. Fingers crossed both our cards arrive soon! The waiting is definitely the worst part but everyone here seems to eventually get theirs. Keep us posted when yours shows up! 🤞

Hey NebulaNinja! It's so comforting to know someone else is going through this exact same waiting game right now. I really appreciate you sharing that Dallas area timeline of 6-8 business days from payment processing - that gives me a much clearer expectation than the vague "7-10 days" I kept hearing. I'm definitely going to call that US Bank number tomorrow morning for a status check. It's amazing how much more helpful they seem to be than trying to get through to TWC directly! I also just set up the USPS Informed Delivery after reading your post and several others mentioning it - what a brilliant tool for managing the anxiety of not knowing what's coming. And you're so right about being proactive with landlords - I finally called mine this afternoon and they were totally understanding about the potential delay. The relief was huge! I'll definitely keep everyone posted when my card arrives, and please do the same with yours since we're on such similar timelines. Thanks for the encouragement and solidarity! 🤞

I went through this same stressful situation about 6 months ago here in Irving (Dallas area). My ReliaCard took exactly 7 business days to arrive, which was right in the middle of the timeframe everyone quoted me. A few things that really helped me during the wait: - I called US Bank at 1-800-657-6343 on day 4 and they confirmed my card had been mailed and gave me a rough delivery estimate - The envelope is SO plain - literally just a white envelope with tiny "US Bank" text. I was expecting something official looking with TWC branding - I was able to use the card at an ATM immediately when it arrived, even before completing the phone activation process Since your payment processed yesterday, you're looking at getting it early to mid next week, which should work for your rent timeline. Definitely call your landlord proactively - I wish I had done that instead of stressing until the last minute. Most property managers have dealt with this situation before and are surprisingly understanding. Also, once you get the card, you can transfer funds to your regular bank account through the US Bank app if your landlord doesn't accept debit card payments. The transfer takes 1-2 days but it's free. The waiting is brutal but hang in there - it WILL arrive! Irving and Dallas have pretty reliable mail service so you should be on the faster end of the delivery timeline.
