How is expedited TWC debit card delivered? FedEx or UPS? (Need it ASAP)

Super stressed about getting my unemployment benefits! I finally got approved after waiting forever, but I don't have the ReliaCard yet. I called the customer service number yesterday and requested expedited delivery, and they promised I should receive it TODAY. Has anyone done the expedited shipping for the TWC ReliaCard recently? Do they send it through UPS, FedEx, or USPS? I need to know if I should be waiting for a specific delivery truck or checking my mailbox. My rent is due in 3 days and I REALLY need this money to clear in time. Also, once I get the card, how quickly can I access the funds? Thanks for any help!

The expedited TWC ReliaCard typically comes via UPS or FedEx with tracking (they don't usually use USPS for expedited). When I got mine rushed last year, it arrived exactly when they said it would via UPS. The delivery required a signature, so make sure someone's home or you might miss it! Once you get the card, the funds are available immediately - you just need to activate it by calling the number on the sticker and setting up your PIN. You can use it right away at an ATM or for purchases once activated.

Thank you so much! I'll keep an eye out for UPS or FedEx then. Nobody mentioned anything about needing a signature though...that's making me nervous. I'm home today but I might need to run to the pharmacy later. Would hate to miss it!

Oh no, really? That's cutting it close for my rent deadline... Did yours need a signature or did they just leave it?

When I requested expedited delivery for my TWC card in January, they sent it via UPS Next Day Air. It did require a signature, contrary to what someone else mentioned. I actually missed the delivery on the first attempt and had to wait another day, which was frustrating. If you're expecting it today, I recommend tracking the package on the UPS or FedEx website using the phone number associated with your claim. The customer service rep should have provided you with tracking information - did they give you any tracking number?

They didn't give me any tracking number! Now I'm worried. I'll try calling the ReliaCard customer service again to see if they can provide tracking info. This is so stressful.

THE TWC SYSTEM IS SUCH A MESS! I waited THREE WEEKS for my card even after requesting expedited shipping! They kept saying it was sent but nothing ever arrived. Had to call FIVE TIMES before they would send a replacement! And guess what? The first one suddenly showed up the same day as the replacement. What a joke! Don't trust their timeline promises!!!

That's unusual - expedited shipping typically works as promised. Did you verify your mailing address was correct in both the TWC system and with U.S. Bank ReliaCard? Sometimes discrepancies between addresses can cause delivery issues.

YES my address was correct! The TWC system is just BROKEN like everything else about unemployment in Texas! They don't care if people can't pay their bills while waiting!

I had the same worry last month! Mine came FedEx but my neighbor got hers UPS. I think they use different services depending on your location in Texas. Either way it was super fast - requested expedite at 3pm and had it next day by noon.

That gives me some hope! I'm in the Houston area, if that makes any difference for which carrier they use.

If you need to speak directly with a TWC agent about tracking your ReliaCard, try using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation where I needed my card urgently and couldn't get clear info. Claimyr got me connected to a TWC rep in about 13 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. They can check exactly where your card is in the system and confirm shipping details. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh that shows how it works. Their website is claimyr.com - definitely saved me a lot of stress when I was in your situation.

Yes, it works. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for days to get through. Got connected in about 15 minutes. Much better than the busy signals and automatic disconnects I kept getting.

Hey just wanted to let you know that the expedited cards sometimes come in plain white envelopes that don't look official at all! My roommate almost threw mine away thinking it was junk mail! Keep an eye out for ANY mail today, even stuff that looks like spam.

Omg thank you for mentioning this! I would've never thought to look for a plain envelope. I'll check ALL my mail carefully.

One more important thing - once you get your ReliaCard, I recommend immediately setting up direct deposit to your personal bank account for future payments. You can do this through your TWC account online. That way you won't have to worry about card deliveries for future payment requests. The direct deposit typically processes within 1-2 business days after payment is approved.

That's great advice! I'll definitely set up direct deposit as soon as I get this sorted out. Seems much more reliable than waiting for cards in the mail.

UPDATE: My ReliaCard just arrived via FedEx about 20 minutes ago! No signature was required - they just left it in my mailbox. It did come in a pretty plain-looking envelope, so thanks for the warning about that. Already called and activated it. Such a relief! Thank you all for your help and advice!

Excellent! Don't forget to set up that direct deposit for future payments to avoid this stress next time.

Congrats on getting your card! That's such a relief when you're stressed about rent. For anyone else reading this thread - it seems like the delivery method (FedEx vs UPS) and signature requirements can vary by location and timing. The most important thing is to request expedited shipping ASAP if you need it quickly, and don't assume it'll always come exactly when they say. Also, definitely check ALL your mail like others mentioned - those plain envelopes can be misleading!

This is such helpful info for anyone dealing with TWC card delivery anxiety! I'm bookmarking this thread for future reference. It's interesting how the delivery methods seem so inconsistent - some people get UPS with signature required, others get FedEx left in mailbox. Seems like TWC or U.S. Bank should be more transparent about their shipping process so people know what to expect. At least we know expedited usually means next day even if the carrier varies!

Just wanted to add my experience for anyone else who might be searching this thread later - I got my expedited ReliaCard last week via UPS and it DID require a signature, but the driver waited about 30 seconds and then just left it anyway (which technically they're not supposed to do). So even if signature is "required," you might still get it if you're not home. Also, pro tip: you can create a free UPS My Choice or FedEx Delivery Manager account and sometimes see tracking info even if TWC didn't give you the number directly - just use your address and phone number to search for incoming packages. Saved me a lot of anxiety!

That's a great tip about creating the delivery manager accounts! I wish I had known about that when I was frantically waiting for mine. The tracking visibility would have saved me so much stress. It's also good to know that even with signature requirements, drivers sometimes use their discretion - though I guess that's a bit of a gamble if you really need to be sure it gets delivered. Thanks for sharing your experience!

This entire thread is so helpful! I'm in a similar situation where I'm waiting for my expedited ReliaCard and the inconsistency in delivery methods had me confused. Reading everyone's experiences, it seems like the key takeaways are: 1) It could be FedEx, UPS, or even USPS depending on your location, 2) Signature requirements vary wildly, 3) Check ALL mail including plain envelopes, and 4) Set up those delivery manager accounts to potentially track packages even without a tracking number. For future folks dealing with this stress - sounds like expedited usually does work within 1-2 days, just be prepared for any delivery scenario. Also definitely setting up direct deposit immediately after getting the card seems like the smartest move to avoid this whole ordeal again!

This is exactly the kind of comprehensive summary this thread needed! As someone new to the Texas unemployment system, I was getting overwhelmed by all the conflicting information online about ReliaCard delivery. Your breakdown makes it so much clearer - basically expect anything and be prepared for everything, haha. The direct deposit tip seems crucial too. I'm curious though - does anyone know if there are any fees associated with the ReliaCard that make direct deposit even more worthwhile? I keep hearing mixed things about ATM fees and such.
