PA UC finally released funds to ReliaCard but card hasn't arrived after 7 days - what now?

After a nerve-wracking 16-week wait, PA unemployment finally released my benefits (thank goodness!), but they put it on a ReliaCard that I don't have yet. I called to request the card a week ago and still nothing in my mailbox. This is getting ridiculous - I've waited 4 months for this money and now I can't even access it! Has anyone else had delays getting their ReliaCard? How long should I wait before panicking? Is there a way to check the status of the card or speed up delivery? I have bills piling up that I was counting on paying with this money!

I had this exact same problem last month! I ended up calling the Money Network ReliaCard customer service directly at 888-233-5916 instead of PA UC. They confirmed my card was sent but got me a replacement with expedited shipping (came in 3 business days). Definitely worth calling them directly instead of waiting. They can tell you if it was actually mailed or if there was a problem with your address.

Thanks for the number! I'll call them right away. Did they charge you for the expedited shipping? I literally can't wait another week.

mine took 2 weeks to come and then another week to get the pin in a separate envelope. its so annoying they dont tell u this stuff upfront!!

The PIN and card should arrive together now. PA UC switched to a new system in late 2024 where both come in the same secured envelope. If you're waiting for a separate PIN envelope, you might want to call Money Network to confirm.

If you need immediate access to your funds, you can also try setting up the ReliaCard mobile app. Sometimes you can access your account digitally and set up direct deposit transfers to your bank account even before the physical card arrives. I was able to transfer my UC money to my checking account this way while waiting for my ReliaCard to come in the mail.

Wait, really? I didn't know that was possible! I'll definitely try the app. Do you need special info to set it up without having the physical card yet?

You'll need your SSN and some identity verification to set up the app without the physical card. But it doesn't always work - depends on how your account was configured. Worth trying though! Full guide here: https://www.ucard.chase.com/cardholder-agreement

After waiting 16 WEEKS just to get approved, and now this?? The PA UC system is COMPLETELY BROKEN! I had to wait almost a month for my card last year and when I called they gave me the runaround about "mail delays" and "high volume" excuses. Meanwhile they expect us to search for jobs and pay our bills with what exactly?? MONOPOLY MONEY?? It's like they deliberately make it as difficult as possible to actually get the benefits we're entitled to!

I feel your frustration! My claim took forever too, but the card actually came faster than I expected. Guess it depends on where you live maybe?

A few important things to know about ReliaCard in PA: 1. Standard delivery is 7-10 business days (so that's 2 weeks total) 2. You can request expedited shipping when you call Money Network 3. Make sure PA UC has your current mailing address 4. If you had a previous ReliaCard, they sometimes reuse the same card 5. Check if mail is being held or forwarded if you've moved recently One thing many people don't realize is that address verification is more strict for financial cards. Even a small difference between your UC address and your actual mailing address can cause delays or returned mail.

This is super helpful, thank you! I just realized my apartment number might be missing from my UC profile. I'll check on that right away.

This happened to my cousin too. He ended up having to wait almost three weeks for his card. I think they ship them from out of state or something. So annoying! Hope you get yours soon.

After struggling to get through to PA UC for weeks about my ReliaCard (constant busy signals and disconnects), I found a service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual agent in about 15 minutes. It was such a relief after wasting hours redailing! They basically hold your place in the queue and call you when they get through. Saved me so much frustration. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2

Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true after the NIGHTMARE of trying to reach someone at UC. I spent 6 HOURS last Thursday just hitting redial.

Just a heads up - when your ReliaCard does arrive, make sure you activate it immediately and set up the online account. This makes it easier to track deposits and also helps if you ever need a replacement in the future. And definitely sign up for direct deposit to your regular bank account if you can, so you don't have to wait for card transfers every time.

Good advice - I'll definitely set up direct deposit to my regular account. I don't want to deal with this card situation again!

UPDATE: I called Money Network directly using the number someone posted here. Turns out my card was sent to an old address even though I updated my address with UC! They're sending me a new one with expedited shipping that should arrive by Monday. Thanks everyone for your help!

Great news! Glad you got it sorted out. This is a really common problem - the ReliaCard system and PA UC don't always sync up their address databases properly.
