TWC ReliaCard missing after 5 weeks - who else waiting this long?

I filed my unemployment claim on August 25th and still haven't received my ReliaCard debit card. It's been over 5 weeks now! My payment requests show 'processed' online but I can't access any of the money. I've called TWC about 30 times but can't get through to a human. The automated system just says my payments have been issued. Has anyone else experienced such a long delay getting their card? The TWC website says it should take 7-10 business days. What should I do? I've got rent due next week and this is getting really stressful.

7 weeks?! I can't wait that long. Did you do anything to speed it up or just wait it out?

The ReliaCard is actually issued by U.S. Bank, not directly by TWC. You need to contact U.S. Bank ReliaCard customer service at 1-800-657-6343. They can tell you if your card was mailed, when it was sent, and they can expedite a replacement if needed. If your payments show as processed, the money is sitting in the account waiting for you to access it. TWC won't be able to help with the actual card delivery.

Thank you so much! I didn't realize U.S. Bank handles the cards. I'll call them right now.

This is why I HATE the ReliaCard system! They never explain this part clearly. I spent THREE WEEKS trying to get answers from TWC when I had the same problem.

I just went thru this nightmare in September!! When I finally got thru to someone at TWC, they told me my card was returned as undeliverable even though my address was correct in the system. Something about USPS not being able to deliver to my address? Make sure you check with US Bank AND make sure your mailing address is 100% correct with TWC. I had to request a new card and wait ANOTHER 2 weeks after already waiting 4 weeks.

Ugh that's so frustrating! My address is definitely correct in the system. I double-checked it when I filed my initial claim. I'll definitely call U.S. Bank though to see if there was a delivery issue.

After dealing with this exact problem for nearly 3 weeks, I finally used Claimyr to get through to a TWC agent. I was seriously about to lose my mind with all the busy signals and disconnections. The agent confirmed my card had been issued but was stuck in some processing queue at U.S. Bank. She put in an expedite request and I got my card 3 days later. Check out their video if you're still struggling: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh - you can find them at claimyr.com. Seriously worth it when you're desperate to speak to someone.

I've never heard of this service but at this point I'm willing to try anything. The constant busy signals are driving me crazy. I'll check out that video link - thanks for the suggestion!

I used them too! They got me through to TWC in like 20 minutes after I'd been trying for days. The agent told me there was a flag on my account that needed to be cleared before my card could be issued properly.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS WHOLE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE PEOPLE GIVE UP???!!!!! Like seriously, why can't they just do direct deposit from the beginning instead of forcing everyone to use these stupid cards that never arrive!!!! I had to borrow money from my parents for TWO MONTHS waiting for my card last year!!!

I didn't even know direct deposit was an option! I definitely want to set that up once I get this card situation resolved.

There's actually an issue with ReliaCards right now in Texas. A TWC agent told me they're experiencing delays due to a new security feature being added to the cards. Many people are waiting 4-6 weeks instead of the usual 7-10 days. When you call U.S. Bank, make sure to ask specifically if your card has been printed yet or if it's still pending in their system. If it's still pending, that's when you need TWC to intervene and push it through.

Thanks for this info! Just got off the phone with U.S. Bank and they said my card is 'in process' but couldn't give me an estimated delivery date. Sounds like I need to get TWC involved after all.

One more thing to try: if you're in dire need of the funds while waiting for your card, you can request an emergency payment from TWC. Call and specifically ask for a 'hardship payment' due to the delay with your ReliaCard. They won't advertise this option, but if you're facing eviction or utility disconnection, they can sometimes issue a paper check more quickly. You'll need to explain your specific hardship situation.

That's really good to know about the hardship payment. My rent is due in 5 days so this qualifies as an emergency at this point. I'll definitely mention this when I call TWC. Thank you!

my friend said if u call the reliacard people early in the morning like 7am there's no wait time. might be worth trying tomorrow

This is true! U.S. Bank's call center opens at 7am CT and if you call right when they open, you can get through in minutes instead of hours. I did this and it saved me so much frustration.

Update: I called U.S. Bank and they confirmed my card was returned as undeliverable even though my address is correct! Apparently my apartment number was missing from their system even though it shows correctly in my TWC account. I've requested a new card with the correct address and they said it should arrive within 7-10 business days. I've also submitted a request for a hardship payment through TWC since rent is due soon. Thanks everyone for your help!
