PA UC weekly claim status says 'in progress' - when will I get paid?
Filed my first UC claim on Aug 27th and just completed my weekly certification yesterday. Now when I log in, all my eligible weeks show 'in progress' under the benefit pay date section. Pretty sure it showed something different before (maybe 'pending'?), but now they ALL say 'in progress'. Does this mean payment is finally about to go through? It's been over 2 weeks since my initial claim and I'm starting to worry about rent. Anyone know how long it typically takes to go from 'in progress' to actually getting paid? I keep checking my Money Network card balance but nothing's there yet.

In' progress is actually a good sign! It means your claim is moving through their system. My first payment came about 3 days after my status changed 'to in' progress back in April 2025. Make sure your direct deposit info is correct or that'you ve activated your Money Network card. The first payment sometimes takes longer - up to 3 weeks from initial filing - but after that, weekly claims should process faster as long as you'don t have any openissues.

•Thank you! That gives me some hope. I did activate my card last week but haven't received anything. Is there any way to check if there are open issues with my claim? I don't see anything obvious on the dashboard.

•Oh no! That's exactly what I'm afraid of. Did you ever find out why you were disqualified?

In progress definitely means they're processing your payment! But the timeframe can vary a LOT depending on whether this is your first payment or not. First payments typically take 2-3 weeks from initial application, so you're right in that window. If this is a continuing claim, it should only take 2-3 business days to change from "in progress" to paid. One thing to check - go to "View Payments" in your dashboard and see if there's any payment issue listed. Sometimes there are verification requirements that don't show up clearly in the main view. Also, if it stays "in progress" for more than 5 business days, it might indicate there's an issue they're reviewing. In that case, you'll need to contact them.

•I checked View Payments and it doesn't show anything - just blank rows with dates. I guess I'll give it until next week before panicking. Is there a good way to contact them if I need to? Every time I call I just get busy signals.

When mine said in progress it was actually getting processed and I got my money 2 days later. But my neighbor had to wait like 10 days once because they had to verify her identity or something. Do you have the Money Network card or direct deposit? Sometimes the card takes longer to update even after they send the money.

•I have the Money Network card. I guess I'll just keep checking it every day. So stressful not knowing when money will come through!

In" progress is'UC s way of saying your payment is being processed but'hasn t been released yet.'Here s what to expect: 1. First-time claims: Initial payments typically take 2-3 weeks from application date, sometimes longer if there are identity verification requirements 2. Regular weekly claims: Usually 2-4 business days from when you file your weekly certification 3. Status progression: The normal flow is Pending → In Progress → Paid Since you filed on August 27th and'it s now "showing in" progress for all weeks, that suggests'they ve completed their initial review and are preparing payment. This is a good sign! However, if you'don t see payment within 5 business days, there could be an unannounced issue. If it'doesn t change "to" paid by next week,'you ll need to contact them directly. The phone lines are notoriously busy, especially Monday mornings and Fridayafternoons.

•Thank you for breaking it down so clearly! I think my anxiety is getting to me because I'm down to my last few dollars. 5 business days seems reasonable to wait before taking further action.

If you need to reach someone at PA UC and are tired of getting busy signals, try Claimyr.com - it helped me get through when I was in a similar situation with an "in progress" claim that wasn't moving. They connected me to a live agent in about 20 minutes after I had been trying for days on my own. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. It was definitely worth it to finally get answers about my claim status.

•I'll keep this in mind if I don't see movement by next week. Getting pretty desperate at this point.

Any updates? Did your payment status change from "in progress" yet?

•Yes!! The money actually showed up on my card this morning! No notification or anything - the status still says "in progress" online but the funds are there. So relieved!

FOR EVERYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM: "In progress" actually means DIFFERENT THINGS depending on if it's your FIRST claim or not!!! I spent 2 hours with an agent on the phone yesterday and they told me: - For FIRST TIME claims: "in progress" means they're still reviewing your claim and could take 2-4 WEEKS (not days!!) - For CONTINUING claims: "in progress" means payment is being processed and should take 2-3 DAYS UC really needs to make this clearer!!! I was waiting and panicking for nothing.

•That's such helpful information! I wish they would explain these statuses better on their website. Would have saved me a lot of anxiety.

Glad to hear your payment came through! For future reference, here's a tip: the UC payment processing runs in batches at specific times, so status updates and payments follow this schedule: - Weekly certifications filed on Sunday-Monday: typically process by Wednesday-Thursday - Certifications filed Tuesday-Wednesday: typically process by Friday-Saturday - Certifications filed Thursday-Saturday: typically process by Monday-Tuesday And there's always a delay between when UC releases the payment and when it shows up on your Money Network card or bank account (usually 1-2 business days). That's why your online status might still say "in progress" even after the money has been sent.

•This schedule is super helpful! I'll definitely file my weekly certifications early Sunday mornings from now on to get in the first batch.

Just wanted to share my recent experience since I see you got your payment! I had the same "in progress" status for about 6 days and was getting really worried. Called using that Claimyr service someone mentioned and finally got through to an agent who explained that first-time claims often get stuck in a secondary review process even after showing "in progress." Turns out they needed to verify my previous employer information, but there was no notification about it anywhere on the dashboard. Agent was able to push it through and I got paid 2 days later. Definitely recommend calling if it stays "in progress" for more than a week, especially for first-time filers.

•Thanks for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to know that there can be hidden verification steps that don't show up on the dashboard. That secondary review process sounds like exactly what might trip people up - you think everything is moving along but there's actually something they need that you don't know about. Good to know that calling can help push things through once they identify the issue. I'll definitely keep this in mind for anyone else who asks about "in progress" status lasting too long.

This thread is so helpful! I'm dealing with the exact same situation right now - filed my initial claim about 10 days ago and it's been showing "in progress" for the past 3 days. Reading through everyone's experiences here really helps ease the anxiety. It sounds like for first-time claims, "in progress" can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks depending on whether there are any verification issues. I'm going to follow the advice here and wait about a week before trying to call, but it's good to know about options like Claimyr if I need to actually get through to someone. Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines and experiences!

•You're right that this thread is really informative! I'm in a similar boat - filed about 8 days ago and mine just switched to "in progress" yesterday. After reading all these experiences, I feel much more prepared for what to expect. The key takeaway seems to be that patience is crucial for first-time claims, but it's also important to know when to take action if things seem stuck. The distinction between first-time vs continuing claims that @Sophia Long shared is really valuable info that UC should definitely make clearer on their website. Good luck with your claim!

Just wanted to add my perspective as someone who went through this exact situation last month. My "in progress" status lasted 8 days for my first claim, and I was checking my Money Network card obsessively every few hours. What I learned is that UC processes payments in waves, and first-time claims often get caught in additional verification steps that aren't clearly communicated. The good news is that once it says "in progress," you're usually in the final stretch - it's much better than "pending" or having open issues. My advice: check your card balance once a day (not every hour like I did!), and if it hits the 2-week mark without payment, definitely use one of the callback services mentioned here to get through to an agent. The waiting is brutal but hang in there!

•This is such great advice about checking once a day instead of obsessively! I definitely fell into that trap of checking my card balance every few hours when I was waiting - it just made the anxiety so much worse. Your point about "in progress" being better than "pending" is really reassuring too. It's wild how much stress this whole process creates when you're already dealing with being unemployed. Thanks for sharing the realistic timeline of 8 days - helps set proper expectations for anyone else going through this!

Reading through all these experiences really highlights how stressful and confusing the UC system can be! I'm currently waiting on my first claim too - filed about 12 days ago and just switched to "in progress" 3 days ago. What strikes me most is how inconsistent the communication is from UC's side. Some people get paid in 3 days, others wait 3 weeks, and there's no clear way to know which category you'll fall into. The fact that there can be hidden verification steps that don't show up on the dashboard is particularly frustrating. I really appreciate everyone sharing their timelines and experiences here - it's way more helpful than anything on the official UC website. Going to try the "check once a day" approach instead of obsessing over it every hour!

•You're absolutely right about how inconsistent the communication is! I went through this exact same thing a few months ago and the uncertainty was the worst part. The "check once a day" approach definitely helps with the anxiety - I wish I had learned that earlier. One thing that helped me was setting a specific time each day to check (like right after my morning coffee) instead of randomly throughout the day. That way I wasn't constantly thinking about it. Also, if you're on day 12 since filing and just switched to "in progress" 3 days ago, that timeline actually sounds pretty normal based on what everyone else has shared. Hang in there - the waiting is brutal but it sounds like you're on the right track!

I'm in the exact same boat right now! Filed my initial claim 9 days ago and it switched to "in progress" yesterday. This whole thread has been incredibly helpful - way better than any official UC resource I've found. It's reassuring to hear that "in progress" is generally a good sign, even though the waiting is absolutely nerve-wracking when you're counting every dollar. I'm going to follow the advice here about checking once a day instead of constantly refreshing, and wait about a week before trying to contact them if nothing happens. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and timelines - it makes this stressful process feel a lot less isolating!

•Welcome to the waiting club! I totally get how nerve-wracking it is, especially when you're watching every penny. The fact that you switched to "in progress" yesterday is actually really encouraging based on what I've read here. I'm a few days behind you in the process (just filed my claim last week), but reading everyone's experiences in this thread has been such a lifesaver. It's crazy how much more helpful this community is than the official UC website! The "check once a day" strategy seems like the way to go - I'm definitely going to try that instead of obsessively refreshing. Fingers crossed for both of us that we're in the "few days" category rather than the "few weeks" one!

This thread has been incredibly valuable to read through! I'm in week 2 of waiting after my initial claim and seeing "in progress" for the past 4 days. The anxiety is real when you're unemployed and watching your savings dwindle. What really stands out to me is how much variation there is in processing times - some folks get paid in 3 days while others wait weeks, often with no clear explanation of why. The tip about hidden verification steps that don't show on the dashboard is particularly concerning. It seems like UC's communication could be SO much better. For anyone else in this boat, this community discussion has taught me more about the process than hours of reading official UC resources. Planning to check once daily (not hourly!) and give it about 10 business days total before trying to call. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - it really helps knowing we're not alone in this confusing process!

•You've really captured what so many of us are going through! I'm also in the "in progress" waiting game (day 6 for me) and this thread has been like finding gold. The lack of transparency from UC is honestly the most frustrating part - like you said, some people get paid in days while others wait weeks with no explanation. It's wild that we have to rely on community discussions like this to understand what's actually happening with our claims. The "hidden verification steps" thing is what really gets me - how are we supposed to know if there's an issue if they don't tell us? I'm definitely adopting the once-a-day check strategy too. Here's hoping we're both in the "faster processing" group! At least we know we're not alone in this confusing mess.

Just wanted to jump in here as someone who's been through this exact situation! I filed my initial claim about 3 weeks ago and went through the same "in progress" anxiety that everyone's describing. Mine took 9 days from when it switched to "in progress" to actually getting paid, but like others mentioned, the money showed up on my Money Network card before the online status even changed to "paid." What really helped me was setting up text alerts on my Money Network card so I'd get notified the moment any funds were added - saved me from obsessively checking the balance. Also, I learned that UC processes payments Tuesday through Friday, so don't panic if nothing happens over the weekend. For anyone currently waiting, the general rule seems to be: if you're a first-time filer, "in progress" can take 1-3 weeks depending on any hidden verification they need to do. If it goes past 2 weeks, definitely try calling or using one of those callback services. The waiting is absolutely brutal when you're stressed about money, but hang in there - "in progress" really is a good sign that things are moving!

•The text alert tip for the Money Network card is brilliant! I never thought to set that up but it would definitely save so much anxiety from constantly checking the balance manually. Also really helpful to know that payments only process Tuesday-Friday - I was wondering why nothing seemed to happen over weekends. Your timeline of 9 days from "in progress" to payment helps set realistic expectations too. It's reassuring to hear from someone who actually made it through the whole process successfully. I'm going to set up those alerts right now - thanks for the practical advice!

This entire thread has been so incredibly helpful! I'm currently on day 5 of "in progress" status for my first claim and was starting to panic about when I'd actually see money. Reading everyone's experiences here has taught me more about the UC process than any official resource. The variation in timelines is both reassuring and nerve-wracking - it's good to know that anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks can be normal, but the uncertainty is tough when you're unemployed and watching expenses pile up. I'm definitely going to set up those Money Network text alerts that @Leslie Parker mentioned and stick to checking once a day instead of every hour. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories - it really helps to know we're all going through the same confusing process together!
