PA UC payment 'in progress' but no actual pay date - normal wait time?

My PA unemployment claim was finally reviewed and approved last week after dealing with an 'open issue' for nearly a month. My dashboard now shows the weekly benefit amount I'll receive ($375) and all the details look correct, but under payment date it just says 'in progress'. It's been showing this status since yesterday morning. Is this normal? Do pay dates usually update the same day or is there typically a waiting period between approval and when they assign an actual payment date? Getting nervous since rent is due soon and I was counting on this coming through. Anyone dealt with this recently?

This is totally normal. The "in progress" status usually means they've processed your payment but it's still in their system queue. For me it always changed to an actual date within 48 hours, then took another 2-3 business days for the money to hit my Money Network card. Don't worry!

Thank you! That's a relief. Do weekends count in that 48 hour timeframe or just business days?

It depends on when your claim was approved. If it was approved after the weekly payment processing cycle (which usually runs Tuesday night), it'll show "in progress" until the next cycle. I've seen it take anywhere from 1-3 business days to change from "in progress" to an actual pay date. Once you have a pay date, add 2 business days for direct deposit or 3-4 days for the Money Network card to be loaded.

That makes sense! It was approved on Thursday, so maybe it'll process in Tuesday's cycle. I'll try to be patient. Thanks for the detailed info!

The PA UC payment system is RIDICULOUS! Even after approval they make you wait and stress about when money will actually arrive. I was at "in progress" for 6 DAYS before getting a date, then another 4 days before money appeared. The whole system is designed to torture people who are already struggling!

While I understand your frustration, 6 days is unusually long. The standard processing time is typically 1-3 business days to move from "in progress" to a payment date, then 2-4 additional business days for funds to be available. If anyone experiences delays beyond this timeframe, there might be an additional issue that needs addressing with a UC representative.

If you're worried about the timing and need to talk to someone, I was in a similar situation last month. I used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual PA UC agent on the phone instead of dealing with busy signals all day. There's a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. The agent I spoke with confirmed my payment was in process and gave me the exact date it would hit my account. Saved me a lot of stress!

Thanks for the tip! If it's still showing "in progress" by Friday, I might try that. Did they give you information you couldn't see online?

0 coins

Yeah, the agent could see exactly where in the process my payment was and when it would post. The online system just shows basic status updates, but the agents can see everything happening behind the scenes.

I actually went thru this exact thing in January! My claim was approved on a Wednesday, showed "in progress" until Friday afternoon, then changed to a pay date of the following Tuesday. Money was in my account Wednesday morning. So about a week total from approval to money. Just keep checking your dashboard each morning - it'll update!

This is why I tell everyone to sign up for direct deposit instead of the Money Network card. Direct deposit is usually 1-2 days faster in my experience.

Yes, I filed my weekly certification on Sunday and got the approval message Monday morning. Then the claim info appeared but with the "in progress" status for the payment date.

To clarify the payment timeline for everyone: 1. Weekly certification filing (Sunday-Friday) 2. Claim processing (1-2 business days) 3. Status changes to "in progress" (payment is being processed) 4. Pay date assigned (1-3 business days after "in progress") 5. Funds available (2-3 business days after pay date for direct deposit; 3-4 days for Money Network card) So from weekly certification to money in your account typically takes 5-10 calendar days total, depending on weekends and which payment method you've selected. The system runs major payment batches on Tuesday and Thursday nights, which can affect timing as well.

This timeline is super helpful, thank you! Looks like I'm right in the middle of step 3-4. I'll expect to see movement in the next couple days then.

Hey Brian! I just went through this exact same situation about 3 weeks ago. My claim was approved on a Wednesday and stayed "in progress" until Friday evening, then got assigned a payment date for the following Tuesday. The money hit my direct deposit account on Thursday morning. So yeah, totally normal! The "in progress" status basically means your payment is queued up in their system but hasn't been assigned to a specific batch yet. Since you got approved last week, you should definitely see movement by early next week. Hang in there - the hardest part (getting approved) is behind you!

Thanks Samantha! That timeline sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. It's reassuring to hear from someone who just went through this recently. The waiting is definitely the worst part when you're counting on the money. I'll keep checking over the weekend but won't panic if nothing changes until Monday or Tuesday. Really appreciate you sharing your experience!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My claim got approved on Friday and it's been showing "in progress" since then. Reading through everyone's experiences here is really helpful - sounds like 1-3 business days is totally normal for it to change from "in progress" to an actual payment date. I'm trying not to stress about it but it's hard when you're waiting for that money to come through. Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines, it really helps to know what to expect!

Hey Clay! It sounds like we're in almost the exact same boat - my claim was approved last week and I've been seeing "in progress" since yesterday. From everything everyone's shared here, it looks like we just need to be patient for a few more days. The timeline @Aliyah Debovski laid out really helped me understand the process better. Fingers crossed we both see our payment dates update early next week! It s'definitely nerve-wracking when you re'counting on the money, but at least we made it through the approval process.

I'm dealing with this exact same situation right now! My claim was approved Tuesday and it's been stuck on "in progress" for the past two days. Reading through everyone's experiences here is such a relief - I was starting to worry something went wrong with my approval. It sounds like 1-3 business days from "in progress" to getting an actual payment date is completely normal. @Aliyah Debovski your breakdown of the timeline was super helpful! I feel much better knowing this is just part of their standard processing cycle. Hopefully both Brian and I see our payment dates update by early next week. The waiting game is definitely stressful when you're depending on these funds!

It's really reassuring to see so many people going through the exact same thing and getting their payments processed normally. Based on what everyone's shared, it sounds like we're all just waiting for the next payment batch to process. @Aliyah Debovski thanks for that detailed timeline breakdown - it really helps to understand what s'happening behind the scenes. Hopefully we all see our payment dates update in the next day or two!

I'm currently experiencing this exact same situation! My claim was approved on Thursday and it's been showing "in progress" since Friday morning. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful and reassuring - I was starting to get worried that something might be wrong with my approval. It's clear from all the responses that 1-3 business days from "in progress" to an actual payment date is completely normal and part of their standard processing cycle. @Aliyah Debovski your detailed breakdown of the timeline was especially helpful in understanding what happens behind the scenes. It's definitely stressful when you're counting on these funds, but it sounds like we just need to be patient and let the system do its thing. Hopefully we all see our payment dates update early next week!

I'm going through this exact same thing right now too! My claim was approved on Wednesday and has been stuck on "in progress" since Thursday. It's such a relief to find this thread and see so many people experiencing the same thing. I was starting to panic thinking my approval got reversed or something went wrong. From everyone's experiences here, it sounds like we're all just in the normal processing queue waiting for the next payment batch. The timeline breakdown really helped me understand that this is just how their system works - not a sign that anything's wrong. Definitely still nerve-wracking when you need the money, but at least now I know to expect movement in the next few business days rather than constantly refreshing hoping for an instant update!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My claim was approved on Friday and it's been showing "in progress" since Saturday morning. I was getting really anxious about it, especially after dealing with an open issue for weeks before finally getting approved. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been such a huge relief - I had no idea this was just a normal part of the process. It sounds like the "in progress" status basically means we're in the payment queue waiting for the next processing cycle. @Aliyah Debovski your timeline breakdown was incredibly helpful in understanding what's happening behind the scenes! It's definitely still stressful when you're counting on the money for bills and expenses, but now I feel much better knowing this is standard and not a sign that something went wrong with my approval. Fingers crossed we all see our payment dates update in the next couple business days!

Hey Sophie! I'm literally in the same exact situation - got approved Friday and seeing "in progress" since then too. It's crazy how many of us are going through this at the same time! I was definitely starting to spiral thinking something was wrong, but this whole thread has been like a lifeline. It's so reassuring to know this is just their normal process and we're all just waiting in the same queue. The hardest part is definitely the uncertainty when you're depending on this money to pay bills. But based on everyone's experiences, it sounds like we should see movement by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Thanks for sharing - it really helps to know I'm not alone in this!

I'm going through this exact same thing right now too! My claim was approved last Tuesday and it's been stuck on "in progress" since Wednesday. I was getting so anxious about it, especially since I have rent due next week. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly reassuring - I had no idea this was just standard processing time. It's wild how many of us are all experiencing this simultaneously! The timeline breakdown from @Aliyah Debovski really helped me understand this is just how their payment batching system works.
