PA UC interviewer released funds but still nothing after 3 days - should I trust them?

So I finally had my interview with PA UC yesterday after waiting FOREVER with that stupid open issue on my claim. The interviewer was actually really nice and said everything looked good on my end. They told me they were releasing the funds right then and there and I should see the money in my Money Network card within 1-2 business days. That was Tuesday morning, it's now Friday and still NOTHING has shown up. My online portal still shows those weeks as 'pending' too. Has anyone else been told funds were released but then had to wait longer? Should I trust what the interviewer said or do I need to try calling again (ugh)? I'm getting really nervous because my rent is due Monday and I was counting on this money.

What they told you is technically accurate but the timing can be off. When they say "releasing funds" that means they're approving the payment, but it still has to go through their payment processing system. This can take 3-5 business days instead of the 1-2 they often quote. I'd wait until Monday before panicking - the system often updates over the weekend. Also, check your payment history page, not just the claim status page. Sometimes the payment history will show it as processed even when the main dashboard still says pending.

Thanks for the info! I didn't think to check the payment history page, just kept looking at the dashboard. I'll check there now and hope something shows up by Monday. It's just so stressful not knowing for sure.

they ALWAYS say 1-2 days lol its like their favorite line. took me almost 2 weeks after they said that same thing to me last month. PA UC time is not the same as regular human time!!!

2 WEEKS?? Omg I can't wait that long. Did you have to call them again or did it just show up eventually?

NEVER EVER TRUST WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT TIMING!!!! I've been dealing with PA UC for 15 years on and off and they have NEVER ONCE been right about when money will arrive!!! Their system is from the stone age and everything takes 2-3x longer than they say. And don't bother calling back because you'll just get a different person who will tell you something completely different. It's maddening!!!

This is a bit harsh. The staff are usually trying their best with the systems they have. OP, just give it until at least Tuesday since there was a holiday this week which might be slowing things down.

For anyone struggling to get through to PA UC about payment delays - I discovered a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me bypass the busy signals and actually got me connected to a real person in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 After weeks of trying to get through on my own with no luck, it was worth it to finally speak to someone who could tell me exactly what was happening with my payments. The agent I spoke with was able to see that my payment was actually processed but stuck in some verification queue and they pushed it through while I was on the phone.

I might try this on Monday if nothing shows up. I've been trying to call today but just getting the busy signal every time. Did you have to provide a lot of personal info to this service?

They just need your phone number so they can call you back when they get a UC rep on the line. You still speak directly to UC and verify your identity with them, not with the service.

I had the exact same thing happen last month! After my interview, the lady said funds were released, but my portal still showed pending for almost a week! I panicked and called them like 50 times (finally got through) and they said it was normal and just taking time to process. Sure enough, it showed up the next day after I called. I think their computer system just updates really slowly sometimes.

That makes me feel better knowing it eventually showed up for you! I'll try to be patient through the weekend. Did yours change from pending to paid in the system before you actually received it?

Yeah it did change to paid about 12 hours before the money hit my card. So keep checking your payment status online!

someone told me once that when they say "releases funds" it actually means they just remove the hold, but then your payment still has to be processed in the normal payment batch which only runs certain days of the week? idk if thats true but would explain the delays everyone experiences. also depends if you have direct deposit or the card, i think card is slower sometimes

This is correct. When they approve a payment, it enters the payment processing queue, which only runs on certain days. If you just missed the cutoff for that day's batch processing, you might wait several more days for the next batch. It's an outdated system, but that's how it works.

UPDATE: Money just hit my card this morning (Monday)! So it ended up taking 5 business days rather than the 1-2 they promised. Thanks everyone for the reassurance - you were right that I just needed to be patient. For anyone else in this situation, definitely trust that the process is working but expect delays beyond what they tell you.
