How to check remaining balance on PA UC Money Network card?
Hi everyone. I received my Money Network card from PA UC last week after my claim was finally approved (took FOREVER). But now I can't figure out how to check how much is on it? I tried looking at the paperwork that came with it but I must have thrown it away by accident. Is there a website or number I can call to see my balance? I need to budget carefully and want to know exactly what I'm working with. Thanks for any help!

You can check your Money Network card balance in a few ways: 1. Call the number on the back of your card (should be 888-233-5916) 2. Download the Money Network mobile app 3. Create an account at moneynetwork.com I personally prefer the app - it's super simple and shows your transaction history too. Just set up an account using the card number and you're good to go!

•Thank you! I'll try the app right now. Didn't realize there was one. Appreciate it!

the number on back of card works but they ALWAYS put me on hold for like 20 mins!!! so annoying. the website is better if u dont mind creating ANOTHER account for something. also u can check at any atm but they charge fees so dont do that unless emergency

•I second this! Always check balance online - ATM fees will nickel and dime you to death. I lost like $15 in fees before I figured this out.

Has anyone else had trouble with the Money Network website? I've been trying to check my balance for DAYS and it keeps saying my account is locked or something. Called the customer service line and got disconnected THREE TIMES after waiting forever. Seriously thinking about just transferring everything to my bank account so I don't have to deal with this garbage card anymore!!

•I had the same issue last month! If you're having trouble reaching Money Network's customer service, you might want to try Claimyr (claimyr.com). They helped me get through to a PA UC agent who was able to verify my card was active and resolve the login issue. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 The PA agent told me that sometimes the cards get locked if you enter the wrong PIN too many times or if there's any fraud suspicion. Once I got through, they fixed it in like 5 minutes.

•Thanks, I'll check out that service. So sick of waiting on hold just to get disconnected!

Am i the only 1 who just withdraws all the $ as soon as it hits the card??? I dont trust these prepaid cards, had 1 get hacked b4. I just take it all out and put in my regular bank. No fees that way either.

•You're actually smart for doing that. I've heard stories about accounts being frozen randomly. However, just FYI - you can transfer the money directly to your bank account through the Money Network app/website without having to physically withdraw cash first. No fees either way as long as you're transferring the full amount.

UPDATE: I got the app working! For anyone else looking - you need your card number, the expiration date, and you'll create a username/password. It shows my balance right on the main screen after logging in. Looks like I can also set up alerts for when deposits happen which is super helpful. Thank you all for the help! Going to look into that direct transfer option too.

•Glad you got it working! The alerts are definitely useful - I have mine set to text me whenever there's any activity on the card. Peace of mind is worth a lot these days.

Just a heads up for everyone - if you're having trouble with the Money Network app or website, try clearing your browser cache/cookies or updating the app. I had issues logging in for weeks and it turned out to be a simple cache problem. Also, make sure you're using the correct Money Network site (moneynetwork.com) - there are some fake lookalike sites out there that will steal your info. Stay safe everyone!

•Great advice about clearing cache! I was having login issues too and that totally fixed it. Also want to add - if you're still having trouble after trying those steps, sometimes logging out completely and logging back in helps. And yeah, definitely be careful about which site you're using. I almost got caught by one of those fake sites but noticed the URL was slightly different at the last second.

Another option if you don't want to deal with apps or websites - most grocery stores and pharmacies can check your card balance for free at customer service. I do this at Giant Eagle sometimes when I'm already there shopping. Just hand them your card and they'll tell you the balance instantly. Way easier than waiting on hold or dealing with technical issues!

•That's actually a really good tip! I never thought about asking at customer service. Beats dealing with all the technical headaches. Do you know if places like CVS or Walmart do this too, or is it just grocery stores?

•Most CVS and Walmart locations can check prepaid card balances at customer service too! I've done it at both. Walgreens also does it. Pretty much any major retailer with a customer service desk can help you out. Just make sure to bring ID with you - some places require it for balance checks even though it's your own card.

Pro tip from someone who's been dealing with PA UC for way too long - if you're planning to use your Money Network card regularly, I'd recommend setting up direct deposit to your regular bank account instead. You can do this through your PA UC dashboard under payment preferences. That way you don't have to worry about card issues, balance checks, or any of the technical problems people are mentioning. Takes like 2-3 business days to process but then your payments just go straight to your bank. Much less hassle in the long run!

•This is exactly what I wish I had known when I first got my card! I spent weeks dealing with the Money Network headaches before someone told me about switching to direct deposit. The setup process through the PA UC dashboard is pretty straightforward too - just need your bank routing and account numbers. Definitely worth the few days wait to avoid all the card drama. Thanks for sharing this tip!

For anyone still struggling with Money Network issues, here's what worked for me: I called PA UC directly at 888-313-7284 and asked them to help me reset my Money Network card access. They were able to unlock my account and walk me through setting up the online access properly. Took about 30 minutes total but saved me days of frustration trying to deal with Money Network's customer service. The PA UC reps seem to have more authority to fix card-related problems than the Money Network people do. Worth trying if you're stuck!
