Will NY unemployment max benefit amount continue after federal $300 ended?
Since the federal supplemental $300 expired on August 29th, I'm trying to figure out what happens with regular unemployment benefits. Will we still get our regular state benefit amount or did everything just end completely? I was receiving the maximum weekly amount plus the $300 federal boost, but now I'm confused about what continues. My benefit year doesn't end until December. Has anyone received a payment this week? Just want to know if I should expect something or if I need to start selling plasma or something.

Yes, the regular state unemployment continues. Only the $300 federal enhancement ended. Whatever your weekly benefit amount was from NY state (before the $300 was added) will continue until your benefit year ends or you exhaust your available weeks.

After weeks of calling and never getting thru, I found this site called claimyr.com and they got me a callback with a real live agent within an hour! Talking to the agent cleared up all my confusion and my payments started flowing again. Best decision I made after dealing with this nightmare for so long. They have a youtube video explaining how it works too: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

sounds too good to be true 🤔 did they actually connect you or is this some kinda scam?

Nah it worked exactly as advertised. I was super skeptical too but I was desperate after trying to call for 3 weeks straight. They connected me to an actual NYSDOL rep who fixed my claim.

Yeah basically they have some system that calls repeatedly and waits on hold, then when someone actually picks up they connect the call to your phone. Saved me like 4 hours of hold music lol

Maximum benefit amount continues. Only the federal $300 supplement is gone. I just got my payment yesterday and it was just my regular state amount (in my case $504). Nothin we can do about losin the extra sadly 😑

I just certified this week and only got the state portion. The federal part is completely done. No extension, nothing. That extra money was keeping me afloat and now I'm screwed. Thanks government 😡

The maximum NY state benefit is $504 per week and that will continue until your benefit year ends or you use all your available weeks. The only thing that ended was the federal supplement ($300). You should keep certifying as normal each week.

Thanks for clarifying! So if my base benefit was $403 before the $300, I'll keep getting the $403 weekly? That's still something at least.

Exactly. Your $403 continues unchanged. Just the extra $300 is gone.

Here's a complete breakdown of what's actually happening with NY unemployment right now: What ENDED on 9/5: - The $300 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) - Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) program - Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation (MEUC) program What CONTINUES: - Regular NYS Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits (max $504 per week) - Your regular benefit amount remains the same - Normal certification requirements remain in place If you have weeks remaining in your regular UI benefit year, you'll continue receiving your regular weekly benefit amount, which is calculated based on your previous earnings. If you're having trouble reaching someone at NYSDOL (which is extremely common), I highly recommend using claimyr.com - it's a service that will get you a callback from an actual agent within hours instead of days or weeks of calling. Absolute lifesaver when you need to resolve issues with your claim. Hope this helps clear things up for everyone!

Wish they'd extend the $300... it's still impossible to find decent work in my field.

Yeah I used it twice. First time got a callback in about 45 mins, second time took a little over an hour. Way better than spending all day redailing.

I called DOL yesterday and they confirmed regular benefits continue as normal. The lady told me we'll still get whatever our weekly benefit rate was MINUS the $300 federal supplement that expired.

Just got off the phone with NY unemployment (waited 2.5 hours btw). They said regular unemployment continues like normal, just without the extra $300. So if you were getting let's say $450 from the state + $300 federal, now you'll just get the $450.
