Why can't i certify for unemployment today - NYS Department of Labor system issues?
I've been trying to do my weekly certification since this morning and the ny.gov site keeps giving me errors. When I log into my account everything looks normal but when I click on weekly certification it just loads forever or gives me some generic error message. I need to certify today because tomorrow is the deadline and I don't want to miss my payment. Has anyone else had this problem? Is the NYS Department of Labor system down or something?

The system has been having issues all week. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies first, then try using a different browser. Sometimes the ny.gov portal gets overloaded especially on Sundays when everyone is trying to certify at the same time.

You can also try calling the NYS Department of Labor automated phone line at 1-888-581-5812. It's usually less busy than the website. You'll need your social security number and PIN to certify over the phone. The deadline is actually 7:30 PM tomorrow so you still have time.

UGH this always happens on Sundays! The NYS Department of Labor system is so outdated it can't handle everyone trying to certify at once. I swear they do this on purpose to make people miss deadlines.

Try certifying really early in the morning like 5 or 6 AM when fewer people are online. That's what I do and never have problems.

I'm having the same issue! Been trying since 8am and keep getting timeout errors. What's frustrating is that I can see my claim status and payment history just fine, but the moment I click on weekly certification the whole thing crashes. I tried using my phone's mobile data instead of wifi in case it was a connection issue on my end, but no luck. Really hoping this gets fixed soon because I can't afford to miss this week either.
