New York DOL Website Down - Can't Certify Unemployment Benefits Before Deadline
The unemployment website at applications.labor.ny.gov isn't loading at all today. Getting server errors and can't even get to the login page. Safari is showing "Safari can't open the page because it couldn't connect to the server." I've been trying all morning with different browsers but keep getting the same error. I need to certify my benefits this week and the deadline is approaching. Anyone else having this issue with the New York Department of Labor website or know what's going on? Is there any scheduled maintenance that wasn't announced? I've tried clearing my cache, using incognito mode, and even my phone's data connection but nothing is working.

I found a way to actually talk to someone about this. Used claimyr.com to get through to an agent. Costs $20 but beats dealing with the website issues. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•yeah its legit. they just stay on hold for you and call when someone picks up. saved me hours of frustration

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call 🤔

protip: try logging in super early like 6am or late at night. less traffic on the site then

This has been happening alot lately. The ny unemployment system is totally overwhelmed. Their servers cant handle the traffic. Welcome to 1995 technology lol

Here's what you can try: 1. Clear browser cache and cookies 2. Try incognito mode 3. Check if your internet is stable 4. Try a different device 5. If nothing works, you'll need to call them The phone lines are always jammed but claimyr.com can help get through. They'll wait on hold and call you when an agent picks up. Costs money but worth it when the website is down like this. Also follow their Twitter for system updates - they usually post when there are widespread issues.
