Unemployment claim showing $0.00 benefit amount for almost 3 months - application still "in progress" since November 2024

Applied for unemployment benefits almost 3 months ago and haven't received any updates. I'm really frustrated because my portal shows $0.00 weekly benefit amount and $0.00 maximum amount payable. This has been going on since my claim started with an effective date of 11/12/2024. Looking at my Official Record of Benefit Payment History, I can see: - Start/Effective Date: 11/12/2024 - Benefit Year Ending Date: 11/17/2025 - Weekly Benefit Amount: $0.00 - Maximum Amount Payable: $0.00 - Effective Days Remaining: 104 The only message I see in my latest transaction as of 02/06/2025 is: "We are continuing to work on your application and are determining the amount of benefits you will receive. You may get a call from us if we require further information. You will receive a status update as your application progresses through the system." There's also some information about "Weekly payments for $600 showing '0' under the 'Effective Days' column, and Debit Card or Direct Deposit under the 'Type' column, are the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) payments." And something about Effective Days: "Each day in a week (Monday through Sunday) that you qualify for benefits is called an effective day. There is a maximum of 4 effective days each week, and you must qualify for all 4 effective days in order to receive your total weekly benefit rate. For each day in the week that you are not eligible to receive benefits, you will receive one less effective day, which is equivalent..." No letters in the mail about my weekly amount either. Anyone else dealing with this or know what's going on? It's been almost 3 months and I'm getting really worried about finances.

same exact situation here. Been waiting since December and nothing but crickets 🦗 Called like 50 times but can never get through to anyone.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! Used this site called claimyr.com - it calls and waits on hold, then connects you when an agent picks up. Costs $20 but totally worth it. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

sounds kinda sketchy tbh... did it actually work?

100% legit! Got through in like 45 mins when I was trying for weeks before

Listen up everyone - here's what you need to know about the $0 balance situation: This usually happens for a few reasons: 1. Your wages need to be verified 2. Your employer hasn't responded to NYSDOL's inquiry 3. You worked in multiple states 4. There's an identity verification hold BEST SOLUTIONS: - Keep certifying weekly even with $0 balance - Try reaching an agent (use claimyr.com if you're struggling to get through) - Check your message inbox daily - Upload any wage documents you have to your portal - Make sure your ID verification is complete Once resolved, you'll get backpay for all weeks properly certified. Hang in there! 💪

I'm dealing with the exact same thing! Applied in early December and still showing $0.00 across the board. The most frustrating part is that "we're working on your application" message that never changes. I've been certifying every week like clockwork but it feels pointless when there's no progress. Has anyone actually gotten through to find out what specific documents they need? I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and pay for that claimyr service everyone's talking about.

honestly same boat here - been certifying religiously since November and still nothing. that claimyr thing actually seems legit based on what @Omar Farouk said. might be worth the $20 just to get some actual answers instead of that generic we "re'working on it message." at this point i m'willing to try anything 😤

Just wanted to share my experience since I went through something similar last year. Had the $0.00 showing for about 6 weeks and was losing my mind. Turns out my previous employer never responded to the wage verification request - that's what was holding everything up. Once I called and they expedited the employer contact, everything got resolved within 2 weeks and I got all my backpay. Definitely keep certifying every week no matter what because you'll get paid retroactively once it's sorted out. Also try calling first thing Monday morning at 8am sharp - that's when I finally got through without waiting hours. Don't give up! 🙏

thank you so much for sharing this! gives me hope that there's actually a light at the end of the tunnel 🙏 6 weeks sounds rough but at least you got your backpay. i'm definitely gonna try that monday 8am strategy - been calling randomly throughout the week with no luck. did they tell you how long employers usually have to respond to those wage verification requests?

Ugh, I'm in the exact same boat as you @Ravi Patel - filed my claim back in November too and still getting that same "we're working on your application" runaround. It's beyond frustrating when you're trying to pay bills and they just leave you hanging with zero communication. I've tried calling probably 100+ times and either get busy signals or sit on hold for hours just to get disconnected. Reading through everyone's comments here is honestly making me feel less alone in this mess. Definitely going to try that Monday 8am calling strategy @Amina Sy mentioned and might cave and use that claimyr service too. At this point $20 seems like nothing compared to the stress of not knowing what's going on with my claim. Keep your head up - sounds like we're all in this together! 💪
