New York Unemployment Phone Number Update Not Working - Old Number Still Used for Verification
Changed my phone number in the system but verification texts still going to my old phone. Updated it online but verification system hasnt caught up. Been trying to reach them at 8am sharp for days now calling over and over but cant get through. Really need to fix this to access my account.

Same issue here. The system is so broken, I changed my number 3 weeks ago and still getting texts to old phone. Its ridiculous how they expect us to verify when we cant even access the right number 🤦♀️

Protip: Try calling right at 7:59am and keep hitting redial. Sometimes works better than 8am when everyone else is calling

The verification system is completely separate from the regular profile updates. You need to speak with a tier 2 rep specifically to update the 2-factor authentication phone number. Regular agents cant help with this. I work in IT and the way they set this up is actually insane

Here's what worked for me - call exactly at 8am, press 2, then 1, then wait for the menu to finish COMPLETELY before pressing 9. If you press 9 too early it sends you to a dead end. Also try wednesday mornings, they seem to have more staff then. If that doesnt work use claimyr.com - saved me hours of frustration
