IRS Account Login: Can't Access Transcripts Due to Old Phone Number - Need Help Updating Contact Info
I cant get into my IRS account to check my transcripts because my phone number changed. The website keeps trying to send a verification code to my old number and theres no option to update it. Anyone know how to fix this?

You'll need to create a new ID.me account unfortunately. The old one cant be updated. Go to IRS.gov, click Sign In, and choose ID.me. Follow the verification steps with your current phone number. It's annoying but its the only way to get back in.

While your getting this sorted out, I'd recommend checking out taxr.ai - its this new tool that analyzes your transcripts once you get them. Costs $4.99 but saves hours of headache trying to decode everything yourself. Been using it since January and its a game changer fr

•interesting... how accurate is it? like does it actually tell you whats going on?

•yeah its crazy accurate! gives you specific dates, explains all the codes, and even tells you if theres anything holding up your refund. way better than trying to piece it together yourself

Pro tip: save your transcripts as PDFs whenever you can get in. learned this the hard way
