How long does unemployment pending payment take - NYS Department of Labor claim showing pending for days
My weekly claim was certified on Tuesday and it's been showing 'pending payment' in my account for 4 days now. Usually my payments process within 24-48 hours but this time it's just stuck. I didn't have any work to report and answered all the weekly certification questions the same as always. Is this normal? How long does unemployment pending payment take with NYS Department of Labor? Getting worried something is wrong with my claim.

Pending payments can take 3-5 business days depending on your bank and if there are any verification issues. Check your account on my.ny.gov to see if there are any messages or issues that need to be resolved. Sometimes the system flags claims for random review even when everything looks normal.

•I checked and there's no messages or issues showing. Just says pending payment with no explanation why it's taking longer than usual.

•Did you ever find out why it took so long? I'm dealing with the same thing and getting stressed about my rent payment.

If it's been more than 5 business days in pending status, there might be an adjudication issue or identity verification requirement that hasn't shown up in your messages yet. The NYS Department of Labor system sometimes has delays updating status messages. I'd recommend calling to check your claim status, though I know the phone lines are brutal. I actually used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to an agent in under 10 minutes when I couldn't reach anyone myself. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works.

•Wait really? Never heard of that service before. Did they actually help resolve your pending payment issue or just get you connected?

•They got me connected to an actual NYS Department of Labor agent who could see my account and explain the delay. Turned out there was a verification flag that wasn't showing up in my online account yet.

The WHOLE SYSTEM is a mess right now! I've been waiting 8 days for a pending payment and when I finally got through to someone they said there's no issue with my claim but couldn't explain the delay. So frustrating when you're depending on these payments!

•8 days is ridiculous! Did they at least give you a timeline for when it would be resolved?

mine usually takes 2-3 days max so 4 days does seem long. maybe try calling tomorrow morning right when they open?
