Can't see past NY unemployment payment history after claim ended - is this normal?

My NY unemployment benefits claim period just ended last week and now I can't see ANY of my payment history when I log in. Everything's totally gone! When I try to call the claims center, the system doesn't give me the option to certify, and online there's no certification button anymore either. I get that my benefits are exhausted, but shouldn't I still be able to view my past payment records? Also, I never received any official notification that my claim was ending - no email, no letter, nothing. Is this normal? Did anyone else experience this when their claim ran out? I'm wondering if there's a glitch in the system or if this is just what happens.

The payment history disappearing is definitely NOT normal. When my claim ended in February 2025, I could still see all my past payments. You might have a technical issue with your account. As for notification, I did get an email about 2 weeks before my benefits exhausted, but I know some people who didn't. Have you tried accessing your account on a different device or browser? Sometimes the NYSDOL site has weird compatibility issues that can make things disappear.

Thank you! I tried on my phone and laptop with different browsers, still can't see anything. This is so stressful... I need those records for my tax filing!

Really? That gives me some hope! I'll try to be patient and check again in a few days.

This is actually a known issue with the NY unemployment system right now. When a benefit year ends, some accounts temporarily lose access to payment history due to system maintenance. However, your payment records are still in the system - they're just not visible to you temporarily. There are three things you should do: 1. Wait 5-7 business days - most accounts regain visibility automatically 2. If it doesn't return, file a request through your online account messaging center specifically asking for payment history access to be restored 3. For tax purposes, you can request a 1099-G form through your online account which will show all benefits paid Regarding notification, the system should send an email and letter when your benefit year is ending, but the notification system has been inconsistent in 2025. The most reliable indicator is actually on your payment history page (when it's working) which shows your benefit year end date at the top of the screen.

This happened to my cousin too! But his never came back and he had to call like 50 times to get it fixed. The system is BROKEN!!! Typical NY unemployment - they can't even keep track of our payments!!

I had a slightly different issue - my payment history stayed visible but I couldn't download any of the PDF statements after my claim ended. Super annoying when I needed them for applying for an apartment.

I went through this exact same thing in January! My payment history vanished and I panicked because I needed it for my taxes. I spent THREE DAYS trying to get through to someone at NYSDOL with no luck - constant busy signals and disconnections. Finally I tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) which got me connected to an actual agent in about 20 minutes. The agent told me it was a known issue and restored access to my payment history while I was on the phone. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE Seriously saved me so much stress and time - might be worth trying if waiting doesn't fix it automatically.

Thank you for suggesting this! I'll wait a few days first like others suggested, but if that doesn't work, I'll definitely try Claimyr. I really need those records and can't waste days trying to call.

To directly answer your questions: 1. Yes, you SHOULD be able to see your payment history even after a claim ends. This is essential for tax purposes and verification of past benefits. Payment records should remain visible for at least 18 months after your claim ends. 2. About notifications: The NYSDOL system is supposed to send a notification approximately 2-3 weeks before your benefit year ends. However, their notification system has been experiencing issues since the January 2025 system update. Many claimants have reported not receiving proper notifications. If your payment history doesn't reappear within 7 days, you have three options: - Request your payment history through the secure message center in your account - Call the NYSDOL directly at their technical support line: 888-209-8124 (though be prepared for long wait times) - Download your 1099-G form for the tax year, which lists your total benefits received If you need immediate access to your records, calling may be your best option despite the wait times.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I'll start with the secure message center if waiting doesn't fix it. Really appreciate knowing this shouldn't have happened - makes me feel less crazy!

guys what about applying for a new claim? im in the same boat my benefits just ran out last week. can we reapply or is there some kinda waiting period??

That's a separate question, but important to address. You can only file a new UI claim if you've worked and earned qualifying wages since your last claim began. Otherwise, you're not eligible for a new claim until your benefit year fully expires. If you've had employment since your last claim, you can reapply immediately after benefits exhaust.

UPDATE: You guys were right! I checked again this morning (day 4) and my payment history is back! Everything's there just like before. Seems like it was just a temporary system glitch. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions!

Great news! Glad it resolved itself without having to fight with the system. I'd still recommend downloading and saving all your payment records now just in case it happens again.

So glad to hear it worked out! This is actually really helpful info for others who might face the same issue. The fact that it took exactly 4 days seems to confirm what others said about it being a temporary glitch during the system maintenance period after benefit year ends. I'm bookmarking this thread because I'm sure I'll need to reference it when my claim ends in a few months. The NY unemployment system can be so unpredictable - it's nice to know what's "normal" versus what's actually broken!

This is such a relief to see! I'm actually going through the exact same thing right now - my benefits just ended yesterday and I'm panicking because I can't see any of my payment history. Reading through this whole thread has been so helpful, especially knowing that 4 days seems to be the magic number for when it comes back. I was about to start calling nonstop tomorrow but I think I'll wait it out first. Thanks for sharing your experience - it's exactly what I needed to hear!
