Can't access ny unemployment after ID.me verification - someone stole my identity!

Same thing happened to my roommate! After the ID.me verification, you need to go back to your NY unemployment account, click on 'My Online Forms' and there should be a document waiting for you called something like 'Identity Verification Consent'. Fill that out and submit it. It takes like 2-3 business days for them to process it after that.

I had a similar issue and here's what worked for me: 1) Do the ID.me verification first 2) Wait 2-3 days 3) Log back into your unemployment account 4) Look for a form or notification in your account 5) If nothing appears, you HAVE to call them 6) When you get an agent, tell them you completed ID.me but need them to link it to your account 7) They'll have you verify some info and then manually clear the hold on your account. This identity theft shit is out of control with the ny unemployment system. I had the same thing happen and was locked out for 7 months. SEVEN. MONTHS. Fourth - once verified, you'll need to submit backdate certification requests for all the weeks you missed. The agent can guide you through this as well. Don't give up! The system is frustrating but there is a path through it. The key is getting to a live human who can actually help.

you should file a police report for identity theft ASAP. i didn't and regretted it. they kept asking me for it later in the process.
