How to access ID.me for NY unemployment verification? Can't find login page

I keep getting stuck trying to verify my identity for my NY unemployment claim. Everyone says I need to use ID.me, but I literally can't find where to actually start the process. I've looked through all my emails and haven't received anything asking for verification. The NYSDOL website just keeps taking me in circles. Do I need to create an ID.me account first? Is there a specific link I should be using? I'm afraid my claim is going to be delayed because I can't figure out this verification thing.

The ID.me verification link should have been sent to the email address you used when filing your claim. But sometimes they get lost or go to spam. The easiest way is to log into your NY.gov account first, then look for the

Already checked spam, promotions, and even trash. Nothing from ID.me or NYSDOL about verification.

I had the EXACT same problem in January! The verification link is actually embedded inside your NY.gov account. Log in to your unemployment account, click on

Ugh, I'm sorry. Their system is a DISASTER. You definitely need to talk to an actual person at this point. The problem is getting through to them...

you might not actually need id.me yet. sometimes people think they need to verify but the system hasnt asked yet. did you get any message specifically saying you need to verify?

After trying for 2 weeks to get someone on the phone about my ID.me issue, I finally used this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual NYSDOL agent in about 20 minutes. The agent was able to resend my ID.me invitation right away. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - it basically calls for you and holds your place in line. Saved me from pulling my hair out trying to call over and over. Their site is claimyr.com if you want to check it out.

It worked for me! I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for weeks. The agent I spoke with actually knew exactly what to do with my ID.me issue.

I might have to try that if I can't get through tomorrow. Getting pretty desperate at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!

my case was diferent but similar because I did get the email but when I clicked the link it said expired!!! had to call them 23 times before I got through. they resent the link and I was able to complete the id.me verification. the new link came immediately while I was on the phone with them.

23 times?! That's insane. Did you just keep calling back to back or spread it out over days?

One thing many people don't realize is that NYSDOL doesn't always send the ID.me verification as a separate process. Sometimes it's just integrated into their system and appears when you log in to certify for weekly benefits. Have you tried going through the weekly certification process? The ID.me verification prompt might appear there.\n\nAlso, make sure you're accessing your account from a computer, not a mobile device. The ID.me integration sometimes doesn't display properly on phones.

I've been using my laptop the whole time, and I've certified for 2 weeks now without any ID.me prompt appearing. My payments are still pending though, so clearly something is stuck.

Just to update - I finally got this resolved after calling this morning. You were right, I needed to speak with someone to get the ID.me link sent. The agent said there was a glitch in their system where verification requests weren't triggering the emails properly for certain claims filed in March 2025. They resent the link while I was on the phone, and I completed the verification right away. My status changed from pending to approved within a few hours! Thanks everyone for your help!

Great to hear you got it resolved! For anyone else reading this with similar issues, always make sure to call NYSDOL directly about ID.me verification problems. They're the only ones who can generate the secure link tied to your specific claim.

I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. Honestly didn't want to spend the money but after weeks of frustration it was worth it. Got through to a rep in about 30 minutes.
