How to access ID.me for NY unemployment verification? Can't find login page

I keep getting stuck trying to verify my identity for my NY unemployment claim. Everyone says I need to use ID.me, but I literally can't find where to actually start the process. I've looked through all my emails and haven't received anything asking for verification. The NYSDOL website just keeps taking me in circles. Do I need to create an ID.me account first? Is there a specific link I should be using? I'm afraid my claim is going to be delayed because I can't figure out this verification thing.

The ID.me verification link should have been sent to the email address you used when filing your claim. But sometimes they get lost or go to spam. The easiest way is to log into your NY.gov account first, then look for the

Thanks! I checked my dashboard again and don't see anything about identity verification required. Guess I'll have to call. Ugh.

u probably need to check ur spam folder thats where mine went

Already checked spam, promotions, and even trash. Nothing from ID.me or NYSDOL about verification.

I had the EXACT same problem in January! The verification link is actually embedded inside your NY.gov account. Log in to your unemployment account, click on

Just checked and there's nothing under

Ugh, I'm sorry. Their system is a DISASTER. You definitely need to talk to an actual person at this point. The problem is getting through to them...

you might not actually need id.me yet. sometimes people think they need to verify but the system hasnt asked yet. did you get any message specifically saying you need to verify?

My claim status says

If your claim status specifically says

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I'll try calling first thing tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed I can get through.

After trying for 2 weeks to get someone on the phone about my ID.me issue, I finally used this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual NYSDOL agent in about 20 minutes. The agent was able to resend my ID.me invitation right away. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - it basically calls for you and holds your place in line. Saved me from pulling my hair out trying to call over and over. Their site is claimyr.com if you want to check it out.

does that really work? sounds kinda sketch

It worked for me! I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for weeks. The agent I spoke with actually knew exactly what to do with my ID.me issue.

I might have to try that if I can't get through tomorrow. Getting pretty desperate at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!

my case was diferent but similar because I did get the email but when I clicked the link it said expired!!! had to call them 23 times before I got through. they resent the link and I was able to complete the id.me verification. the new link came immediately while I was on the phone with them.

23 times?! That's insane. Did you just keep calling back to back or spread it out over days?

0 coins

i called like 5-6 times each morning for almost a week. keep trying!!!

One thing many people don't realize is that NYSDOL doesn't always send the ID.me verification as a separate process. Sometimes it's just integrated into their system and appears when you log in to certify for weekly benefits. Have you tried going through the weekly certification process? The ID.me verification prompt might appear there.\n\nAlso, make sure you're accessing your account from a computer, not a mobile device. The ID.me integration sometimes doesn't display properly on phones.

I've been using my laptop the whole time, and I've certified for 2 weeks now without any ID.me prompt appearing. My payments are still pending though, so clearly something is stuck.

Just to update - I finally got this resolved after calling this morning. You were right, I needed to speak with someone to get the ID.me link sent. The agent said there was a glitch in their system where verification requests weren't triggering the emails properly for certain claims filed in March 2025. They resent the link while I was on the phone, and I completed the verification right away. My status changed from pending to approved within a few hours! Thanks everyone for your help!

Great to hear you got it resolved! For anyone else reading this with similar issues, always make sure to call NYSDOL directly about ID.me verification problems. They're the only ones who can generate the secure link tied to your specific claim.

how did u get thru on the phone so fast???

I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. Honestly didn't want to spend the money but after weeks of frustration it was worth it. Got through to a rep in about 30 minutes.

I'm dealing with something similar right now! My claim has been stuck on "pending" for over a week and I keep seeing people mention ID.me verification but I haven't received any email or prompt either. Reading through all these responses, it sounds like calling NYSDOL directly is really the only solution when their system glitches like this. Has anyone had luck getting through by calling at a specific time of day? I've been trying around 8am when they open but the lines are always busy.

0 coins

I had the same issue last month! Try calling around 7:45am - I know they officially open at 8am but sometimes the phone system goes live a few minutes early and you can get in the queue before the rush. Also, if you're getting busy signals, keep trying for at least 30-45 minutes straight. The system sometimes opens up spots as other calls disconnect. I finally got through on my 12th attempt one morning and the agent was super helpful - they told me the March 2025 claims had a known issue with ID.me verification emails not being sent automatically.

0 coins

@Omar Farouk I had success calling right at 4:30pm! I know it sounds weird but I think fewer people try calling that late in the day. Got through on my 3rd try yesterday around that time. The rep explained that the ID.me verification issue you re'describing is definitely a system glitch affecting March 2025 claims. They can manually trigger the verification email while you re'on the phone with them - mine came through in about 2 minutes and I was able to complete the whole ID.me process right away. My payments were released the next morning! Don t'give up, you just need to get one person on the line who can fix it.

I'm going through the exact same nightmare right now! Filed my claim in early March and it's been "pending" for 3 weeks. Like everyone else, no ID.me email anywhere - checked spam, promotions, trash, everything. The NYSDOL website is absolutely useless for figuring this out. Reading through all these responses, it's crystal clear that there's a widespread system bug affecting March 2025 claims where the ID.me verification emails just aren't being sent automatically. Really frustrating that the only solution is to somehow get through on their impossible-to-reach phone lines. Going to try the early morning and late afternoon calling strategies mentioned here. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - at least now I know I'm not going crazy and this is a real system issue!

@Demi Lagos You re'definitely not going crazy! I m'a newcomer here but just went through this exact same issue last week. Filed my claim in mid-March and got stuck in the same pending "limbo" with no ID.me verification email. After reading through this thread, I tried the Claimyr service that @Kennedy Morrison mentioned and it actually worked - got through to NYSDOL in about 25 minutes. The agent confirmed it s a'known bug with March 2025 claims and manually sent my ID.me link while I was on the phone. Completed verification immediately and my payments were approved within hours. I was skeptical about using a third-party service but honestly it saved me weeks of frustration trying to call on my own. Worth considering if you re at'your wit s end'like I was!

Just wanted to chime in as someone who recently dealt with this exact issue! Filed my claim in late March and was stuck in pending status for over two weeks with no ID.me verification email. After reading through all these helpful responses, I tried calling at 7:50am like @Connor Murphy suggested and actually got through on my 8th attempt! The agent immediately knew what the problem was - confirmed it's a widespread glitch affecting March 2025 claims where the ID.me verification emails aren't triggering automatically. She was able to manually send the verification link while I was on the phone, and I completed the whole ID.me process in about 10 minutes. My claim status updated to approved by the end of the day. For anyone still struggling with this - don't give up on calling NYSDOL directly. The agents are aware of this issue and can fix it quickly once you get someone on the line!

@Ethan Clark Thanks for sharing your success story! This gives me hope since I m'dealing with the exact same situation. Filed in late March and stuck in pending for weeks now. I ve'been hesitant to keep calling because I didn t'want to waste time, but reading all these responses makes it clear that getting an actual NYSDOL agent on the phone is really the only solution for this March 2025 ID.me bug. Going to try the 7:50am strategy tomorrow morning. Did the agent mention if they re'working on a permanent fix for this glitch, or is manual intervention still the only way to resolve it?

I'm new to this community but dealing with the exact same frustrating situation! Filed my NY unemployment claim in mid-March and it's been stuck on "pending" for almost 3 weeks now. Like everyone else here, I never received any ID.me verification email despite checking everywhere including spam folders. The NYSDOL website just sends you in circles with no clear path to start the verification process. Reading through all these responses has been incredibly helpful - it's reassuring to know this is a confirmed system bug affecting March 2025 claims and not just user error on my part. I'm going to try the early morning calling strategy that several people mentioned here. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and solutions. This thread should honestly be pinned somewhere because it seems like a ton of people are dealing with this same ID.me verification glitch!

@Lucy Taylor Welcome to the community! I m'also new here and just went through this exact nightmare last month. Your experience sounds identical to mine - filed in March, stuck in pending limbo, no ID.me email anywhere. After reading through this entire thread, I can confirm that calling NYSDOL directly really is the only solution when their system glitches like this. I finally got through using the 7:45am strategy that @Connor Murphy shared - took about 15 attempts over 3 days but the agent immediately knew about the March 2025 bug and manually triggered my ID.me verification while I was on the phone. The whole thing was resolved in under 30 minutes once I reached someone. Don t lose'hope - it s definitely'fixable, just requires getting past their overwhelmed phone system. Good luck with your calls tomorrow!

New member here but wanted to share my recent experience with this exact same issue! Filed my claim in early March and was stuck in pending status for almost a month with no ID.me verification email anywhere. After reading through this incredibly helpful thread, I tried calling NYSDOL at 7:45am like several people suggested and finally got through on my 11th attempt. The agent immediately recognized the problem - she said they've been dealing with hundreds of cases where March 2025 claims aren't automatically triggering the ID.me verification emails due to a system integration issue. She manually sent my verification link while I was still on the phone, and I was able to complete the entire ID.me process within 15 minutes. My claim was approved and payments released the very next day! For anyone still struggling with this - persistence with calling really does pay off. The agents are fully aware of this bug and can resolve it quickly once you reach them. Don't give up!

@Eleanor Foster Thank you so much for sharing your success story! I m'new to this community and currently dealing with this exact same March 2025 ID.me verification bug. Filed my claim 3 weeks ago and have been stuck in pending status with no verification email despite checking everywhere. Reading through all these responses has been a lifesaver - it s'such a relief to know this is a confirmed system issue and not something I m'doing wrong. Your experience gives me hope that persistence with calling really does work. I m'going to try the 7:45am strategy tomorrow morning. Did the agent mention anything about when they expect to have a permanent fix for this March 2025 bug, or is manual intervention still the only solution? Really appreciate everyone in this thread sharing their experiences - this information should definitely be more widely available to help people avoid weeks of frustration!

New member here! Just wanted to add my voice to this thread since I'm currently experiencing this exact same March 2025 ID.me verification bug. Filed my claim about 2.5 weeks ago and it's been stuck on "pending" ever since - no verification email anywhere despite thorough searching. This thread has been incredibly valuable in confirming that this is a widespread system issue and not user error. I'm planning to try the 7:45am calling strategy that multiple people have recommended here. It's really frustrating that NYSDOL hasn't posted any public notice about this known bug affecting March 2025 claims, but I'm grateful for this community sharing real solutions. Will update once I (hopefully) get through to someone who can manually trigger my ID.me verification!

@Jamal Washington Welcome to the community! I m'also new here and just dealt with this exact same nightmare. Filed my claim in mid-March and was stuck in pending for 3 weeks with absolutely no ID.me verification email anywhere. After reading through this entire thread, I finally tried the early morning calling approach and got through on my 9th attempt at 7:47am yesterday. The agent knew immediately what the issue was - confirmed it s'a major system bug affecting March 2025 claims where the ID.me verification process just isn t'triggering automatically. She manually sent my verification link while I was on the phone and I completed the whole ID.me process in about 12 minutes. My payments were approved and released within 24 hours! I was honestly skeptical that calling would work after reading so many horror stories, but persistence really does pay off. The agents are definitely aware of this March bug and can fix it instantly once you reach them. Keep trying those early morning calls - you ll'get through eventually!

@PrinceJoe Welcome to the community! I'm also new here and just successfully resolved this exact same March 2025 ID.me verification bug yesterday. Filed my claim in mid-March and was stuck in pending for 3+ weeks with no verification email despite checking everywhere. After reading through this incredibly helpful thread, I tried the 7:45am calling strategy and got through on my 7th attempt. The agent immediately recognized the issue - she said they've been flooded with calls about March 2025 claims where the ID.me verification emails aren't auto-generating due to a system integration problem. She manually triggered my verification link while I was on the phone and I completed the entire ID.me process in about 15 minutes. My claim was approved and payments released within 6 hours!
