If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I was in a similar situation last year and had such a hard time getting through to NYS Department of Labor to ask questions about partial benefits. The phone lines are always jammed. I ended up using this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get connected to an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Made it so much easier to get clarification on the partial benefit calculations.

How much does something like that cost though? I'm already struggling financially.

It's worth checking out their site for the details, but for me it was way better than spending hours on hold or never getting through at all.

Just keep filing your weekly claims and answer honestly about your work hours and pay. The system will calculate your partial benefit automatically. Don't overthink it!

Just to clarify for anyone reading this - you should have received a 1099-G form from NYS Department of Labor showing the total unemployment compensation you received in 2024. This form is what you use to report the income on your tax return. If you had taxes withheld, that will also be shown on the 1099-G. The form should be available online through your my.ny.gov account if you didn't receive it by mail.

ugh i hate tax season. between unemployment and my part time job income everything is so complicated now

File immediately but make sure you have all your employment info ready. They'll ask for wages and dates for every job you had in the last 18 months. If you're missing info it can delay your claim. Also start looking for work right away because you'll need to certify that you're actively job searching when you file your weekly claims.

Good point about the job search thing. How many jobs do I need to apply to per week? I heard it was 3 but I'm not sure if that's current.

0 coins

It's 3 job contacts per week in New York. You need to keep a log of where you applied, when, and what type of contact it was. They can ask to see this log at any time.

Just want to say good luck! Being laid off is tough but at least NY has decent unemployment benefits compared to some states. The process can be slow sometimes but hang in there.

Wait so if I've only been working my current job for like 6 months, what happens? Do they use my previous job's wages too or am I just out of luck?

0 coins

They'll use wages from all qualifying employers during your base period, so yes, your previous job's wages would count as long as you worked during those quarters. You need to have earned at least $2,700 total during your base period to qualify for benefits at all.

ugh the whole unemployment system is so confusing though. like do i have to report every single job i apply for? what if i forget to log something in my job search? will that disqualify me forever?? sometimes i think it's not worth the stress

0 coins

You need to keep a job search log with at least 3 work search activities per week. Missing entries can delay payments but won't disqualify you forever. Just be honest and consistent with your reporting.

Filed for UI benefits last year after my startup folded and honestly it was the best decision. Gave me breathing room to be selective about my next job instead of taking the first desperate offer. No negative consequences whatsoever.
