Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. wait so if you get fired for like attendance issues does that disqualify you?? asking for a friend lol
Being fired for misconduct can disqualify you, but it depends on the specific circumstances. Attendance issues might not always count as misconduct if there were legitimate reasons. Your 'friend' should still apply and let NYS Department of Labor make the determination.

This reminds me of when I got let go from my office job three years ago. They said it was 'restructuring' but I always wondered if it was really performance related. Either way, I qualified for benefits and it helped me get through until I found something new. The uncertainty was the worst part though.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed 10 days ago and still showing eligibility determination. It's so stressful not knowing what's happening. Did you have any issues with your employer information when you filed?

I had a similar situation trying to get through to someone at NYS Department of Labor about this exact issue. Could never get anyone on the phone to explain how the statistics work. The agent was able to explain that there are different unemployment measures but the media only reports the most basic one.

real wage unemployment is when your job pays so little you cant afford basic stuff even while working full time!! its different from regular unemployment where you just dont have a job. the government doesnt really track this kind properly

I think you're overthinking this. Just make sure you reported all your employers from the past 18 months correctly. The NYS Department of Labor system is pretty straightforward once they process everything.
