Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Anyone telling you to wait until June is only partially right. There ARE sometimes exceptions but you NEED to talk to a tier 2 agent (not just the first person who answers). I was in a similar situation and got an extension due to hardship but only after speaking to a supervisor.
That's really good to know. Now I just need to figure out how to actually reach someone on the phone 😞

Have u tried calling from a different phone number? They might be blocking ur number if u called too many times in one day (yes they actually do this 🙄
bruh they've had my back pay on hold for SIX MONTHS. everytime i call its 'we'll escalate your issue' and nothing happens. the whole system is a joke
six months?? oh god that's terrifying. i've only been waiting 4 months and i'm already at my breaking point
yep. tried everything until I finally found claimyr.com last week. finally got someone on the phone who actually helped. got my payment released next day.

In my experience with ny unemployment, they'll keep your claim active but reduce your weekly payment. The bigger issue is that they don't always tell you BEFORE they start taking the money. My payment suddenly dropped by 35% one week with no warning. Had to call multiple times to figure out why.
That's scary...did they eventually send you any kind of formal notice?
Yes but it came AFTER they already started taking the money 🤦♂️ The notice explained everything but by then I'd already panicked about the reduced payment
Hi, I work as a benefits counselor. Yes, your claim will remain active while they recoup the overpayment. They typically withhold a percentage (25-50%) of your weekly benefit until the overpayment is recovered. You have the right to appeal the determination or request a waiver if repayment would cause financial hardship.
Is this actually true? I heard they NEVER approve hardship waivers anymore.
They still approve them, but the standard is quite high. I've seen about 1 in 5 get approved in my experience. The key is thorough documentation and clearly showing how the repayment would affect your ability to pay for necessities.

Honestly the fastest way to resolve this is to physically go to a NY Dept of Labor office in person if possible. They can pull up your claim and often fix issues on the spot. Bring ID and all ur claim info.
most offices aren't taking walk-ins anymore tho, you need an appointment and those are booked like 3 months out 🙄
Some still do walk-ins but you gotta get there before they open and be prepared to wait all day. Worth it tho if ur desperate
I think there's a fraud alert on ur account. Same thing happened to me - no letter, long wait, then suddenly BYE date updated. When I finally got through to someone they said there was a fraud flag on my account that needed manual review. They removed it and I got paid that week.
How did you get through to someone to check this? I've been trying to call for weeks.

ok so weird suggestion but hear me out - I started FAXING all my documents to them (yes fax still exists) in addition to submitting electronically and my problems with "missing" deadlines stopped. Old school tech for an old school broken system I guess?
