Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. Bruh the max disability payment in NY is a JOKE. $170 a week??? What year is it, 1985? 😂 Good luck buying a loaf of bread with that. The system is broken af
it's literally criminal. no one can survive on that. meanwhile the disability insurance companies are making BANK 🤬
For real tho. NJ's max benefit is like $700+ a week but cross the river to NY and suddenly you're supposed to live on $170? Make it make sense.

honestly even if you do all that, unemployment systems are so outdated that ur still vulnerable. but freezing ur credit is def step 1

Document EVERYTHING. When you finally do get through (and you will eventually), you'll need dates, times, and details of all your attempts to contact them. This can help you get backpay for the weeks you couldn't access your account.
Had the exact same ID.me verification issue. Turns out there was a glitch affecting lots of pregnant women - something about pregnancy affecting facial recognition?! 🤔 Wild guess but when I finally got through the agent said they'd seen this a lot with pregnant women. Apparently our faces change enough during pregnancy that it confuses their system? Either way, I used claimyr.com to finally get someone on the phone after trying for 7 weeks straight. I know it sounds bizarre but the agent literally told me they've had tons of pregnant women with this same issue. The facial recognition part of id.me gets confused by the changes in our faces. So stupid!

Ugh, I went through this exact same thing last month. The ID verification is a total nightmare. When I finally got through, the agent told me they've been swamped with fraud cases so they're extra paranoid about verification now.

Ask your previous employer for help proving your identity. My HR department wrote a letter verifying my employment history and identity which sped things up with the unemployment office. Worth a shot.

Im in the same situation and its been 7 weeks of waiting. I finaly got through to someone using claimyr.com and they told me to keep certifying every week even though I cant get any payments yet.
