Your friend needs to be aware that while the payment schedule stays the same, there have been LOTS of glitches in the system lately. I've seen people randomly get flagged for review right after the supplement ended. It's probably fine but she should keep an eye on her account.
This 👆 My roommate's account got flagged for "additional review" right when the supplement ended. Took him calling (using that claimyr service) to get it fixed.
Here's a crazy idea: what if we organized and all showed up at the DOL office in person? They can ignore our calls but hard to ignore a crowd of people demanding answers about why they suddenly lost access with no warning.
everyone who had leftover balances should file a class action lawsuit. this is basically theft - they promised a certain amount then took it away after we already qualified for it.
Unfortunately the law that created these programs specifically included the September 5 end date. The remaining balance was always contingent on the program continuing. Not really grounds for a lawsuit.
i had this happen. turns out my account was HACKED. someone tried to change my direct deposit info. definitely call asap and tell them you need to verify your identity and banking info!
Yes! But only after I got through to a person. They had to put additional security measures on my account. Check your email spam folder too - they might have sent you alerts
I had similar issue but when I finally got thru agent said they couldn't find my claim in the system at all!!! Had to reapply from scratch and then wait another 6 weeks. Check that your claim is actually in their system.
Had to talk to an agent... which meant more endless calling 😑 But seriously, might be worth the effort of using claimyr.com like others mentioned just to confirm your application wasn't lost
after 2 months of the same busy signal BS i broke down and used claimyr. got through to an agent who fixed my claim that day. my benefits hit my account 2 days later. was in the EXACT same position as you.

I've been on and off unemployment and the child tax credit payments have continued regardless. Nothing to worry about!

•Same here! Got a job for 2 months, got laid off again, went back on unemployment, and the child credit never stopped coming.

Anyone know what happens if your income goes up while receiving the child tax credit? I just started a new job that pays way more than I was making before.

•If your annual income for 2021 ends up being above the threshold, you might have to pay some back when you file taxes. You can go to the IRS portal and opt out of future payments if you're worried about it.
