Why won't ID.me accept my documents for NY unemployment verification?

bro id.me is a SCAM. they collect all your personal data and then sell it. google it - they had a huge data breach last year. i refuse to use it and now im stuck without my benefits too.

Listen to me carefully. DO NOT give up on this! The ID.me system is deliberately difficult because they know a certain percentage of people will just give up. I failed 14 times before I finally got verified. Use a desktop computer, not mobile. Use high resolution scans (not photos) of your documents. Make sure your internet is stable for video chat. And if all else fails, find a way to talk to a real person at unemployment who can override it - I used claimyr.com and it was worth every penny to finally get my claim processed.

I had the same problem and kept getting rejected, but when I got to their support team and explained the situation, they set up a special video call with a verification specialist who approved me right away. Unpopular opinion maybe, but ID.me worked fine for me first try 🤷‍♂️ Maybe try a different device? I used my ipad and it went through no problem. Some devices have better cameras/processing.

After 4 weeks of ID.me rejections, I finally found a workaround! If you request the "ID document verification specialist" option rather than regular verification, you get a different team who are much more helpful. You may need to fail the regular verification 3 times before this option appears though.
