This might sound crazy but has anyone tried using a different wifi network? I couldn't file at home for weeks, then tried at Starbucks and it worked immediately. Now I wonder if certain IP ranges are getting blocked or throttled.
OMG this might explain a lot! I can never file at home but it worked at my parents' house! 🤯
Hate to be that person, but I think some accounts are just permanently messed up in their system. I had to create a whole new account after 2 months of errors. Lost some payments in the process but at least I can file now.
You have to call and speak with a supervisor - only they can create a new account that links to your old claim. Took me forever to get someone who knew how to do this though.
I didn't refile after my BYE date because I thought the process was automatic. BIG MISTAKE. Missed out on 4 weeks of benefits before I realized what was happening. Don't be like me!
the dept of labor website is so misleading on this. it says ur eligible for 26 weeks of benefits but doesnt explain that the BYE date can cut you off before you use all 26 weeks. its all designed to confuse ppl
it's actually 'up to' 26 weeks... they just conveniently leave that part out in big letters 🙄
Here's a weird trick that worked for me: call exactly at 7:58am, two minutes before they officially open. Sometimes you get through to the queue before everyone else starts calling at 8:00am sharp.
Did you upload all your identity documents? Sometimes they silently put a hold on your claim if they need to verify your identity. Check if there's a message on your account about uploading ID docs.
This is why I always keep a full month of expenses saved even while on unemployment. The system is so unreliable you can never count on the money arriving on time.
wow must be nice to have savings! some of us are living paycheck to paycheck and don't have that luxury!
Not trying to be insensitive. I've just been burned too many times by the system so I make huge sacrifices to keep that emergency buffer. Eat ramen for weeks if I have to.
Keep trying to call early in the morning around 7:55am. That's when I finally got through after a week of trying. Turns out my payment was held because I answered one of the certification questions wrong (said I was out of town for a day which triggered a review). Agent fixed it in 2 minutes and payment came through next day.

Anyone else notice the overpayment amounts are often wrong? They claimed I owed $2,970 but when I finally got to speak to someone, they admitted their calculation was incorrect and it was actually only $1,200. Always question their math!

•How did you challenge the calculation? Did you have to provide specific evidence?

•I went through all my payment records with a fine-tooth comb and made a spreadsheet showing exactly what I received vs what they claim I received. Had to talk to 3 different agents before finding one who would actually review it properly.

I finally got through to someone at unemployment yesterday using Claimyr (claimyr.com) after months of trying everything else. The agent told me they're extremely backlogged with waiver requests but they ARE processing them. She looked up my waiver (submitted in July) and told me it was approved but the letter hadn't been sent out yet! It's the best money I've ever spent to finally get my benefits paid quickly. If you're waiting, definitely try to speak with an agent directly - sometimes your waiver is actually processed but the notification system fails.

•So I was about to throw my phone after 3 hours on hold when my friend told me about this service. Used it yesterday and actually spoke to someone who helped me. Still in shock that it worked after months of trying.
