NYDOL: Can't get through on phone, forgot PIN, need to verify docs received. Help!
I'm trying to check if the DOL received my documents from last week, but I can't get through on the phone. The message says they're too busy to take calls. I also realized I forgot my PIN. Does anyone know what to do in this situation? Is the PIN for the DOL or something else?

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out to your local state representative. Sometimes they can help expedite things or at least get you some answers. Worth a shot!

I've been waiting 8 weeks for my unemployment claim determination and still nothing. They told me it would take longer because my last job was as a 1099 contractor, but this is ridiculous. word of advice: start looking for work if you haven't already. UI is taking forever these days and you don't wanna be left high and dry if they deny you.
NYSDOL: How to report out-of-state wages when system doesn't give the option?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment application. I need to enter wages from another state, but the system didn't give me that option. It's asking me to call them to finish the application. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I expect when I call? I'm a bit nervous about the whole process.

Hey OP, which state are you filing in? Some states are better than others at handling out-of-state wages.
I'm filing in New York. My previous wages were from California.
Ah, gotcha. NY can be tricky, but they deal with this a lot. Just be persistent and you'll get through eventually.

Quick question - did you receive a notice about the overpayment? There should be instructions on there about how to proceed. If you didn't get one, that could be part of the problem.
I got an email about it yesterday, but it didn't have much info. Just said there was an overpayment and my benefits were on hold.

Hey OP, have you checked if you're eligible for any other assistance programs while you're waiting for your unemployment to kick back in? Might be worth looking into food banks or rental assistance if you're strapped for cash.
