When all else fails with the online stuff, I found the only real solution is talking to an actual human. After weeks of trying, I finally used claimyr.com and got a callback from unemployment in less than an hour. The agent helped me complete the verification over the phone and released my payments the same day. Sometimes you just gotta bypass the broken online systems completely.
Not at all! It literally just holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. Saved me from waiting on hold for hours. My benefits got released right after talking to the agent they connected me with.
This systems so broken that my 68 year old mother figured out how to use Twitter just to publicly complain to get the attention of our state rep after 4 months of no unemployment benefits or tax refunds 😂😭 The sad part is that actually worked!
typical new york unemployment nonsense. been dealing with this system for too long. sometimes when you finally get through to a rep they'll tell you they can see you certified even when the system doesn't show it. their computer system is from the stone age i swear
Have you tried calling the unemployment office? LMAOOO jk jk no one can ever get through on those lines 💀
I got through once after calling for 6 hours straight. SIX. HOURS. And then got disconnected halfway through my convo with the agent 😭
Check out claimyr.com - it actually works for getting through to someone. Was skeptical but desperate enough to try and it connected me to an agent who fixed my issue

Everyone keeps talking about 'quarters' but let me make it simple: 8 weeks of work from 2020 is NOT gonna qualify you for a new claim in 2023. Period. Those wages are way too old to count in your base period. The base period only includes the last 4-5 quarters before you file, so at most they go back about 15 months. Your 2020 work was like 3+ years ago now.

Man, I feel this. I worked only 10 weeks last year and didnt qualify either. The whole system is set up to make it as hard as possible to actually get benefits. And good luck getting thru to anyone on the phone who can actually explain anything clearly. The entire ny unemployment system needs a complete overhaul.

•For real! How are people supposed to survive when the safety net has so many holes in it? 😡
