Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Sometimes tweeting at the department or messaging them on Facebook can get a faster response. Worth a shot! 🤞
This actually worked for me! Got a DM from them within a day after tweeting.
LOL good luck with that. That thing is more buggy than a roach motel 🪳
Anyone else notice that the online portal is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

I looked into it. Most won't take unemployment cases unless you've been denied. Might be worth a consult tho
anyone else feel like theyre just throwing darts in the dark with this stuff? like how are we supposed to know whats going on if they dont tell us anything smh
Hey OP, have you checked if you're eligible for any other assistance programs while you're waiting for your unemployment to kick back in? Might be worth looking into food banks or rental assistance if you're strapped for cash.

I think your supervisor's statement is key here. Make sure it clearly states you were laid off and did not quit. At the hearing, they'll probably ask why your employer is claiming otherwise.

Call ur local legal aid! Most counties have free legal services that help with unemployment hearings. They can even represent you at no cost if you qualify financially. Google "[your county] legal aid unemployment" and something should come up.

•THIS!! I had legal aid help me and it made a huge difference. The lawyer knew exactly what to say and what evidence was most important.
