Stuck in UI claim limbo - tips for getting through to NYDOL?
I've been waiting forever for my unemployment claim to process and I'm getting desperate. No updates, no reasons for the delay, nothing. I'm about to call them again but I'm dreading it. Anyone have any tips on what to say or how to get through to someone who can actually help? I'm at my wit's end here.

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Here's what worked for me: 1. Be super polite but firm. They're probably dealing with a ton of angry people all day. 2. Have all your info ready - claim number, dates, everything. 3. Ask specifically if there are any issues with your application or missing documents. 4. Get them to give you a timeline for when you can expect an update. 5. Ask for a direct contact for follow-up if possible. Good luck! The system is a mess but hang in there.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of every call you make, who you talked to, and what they said. It helps if you need to escalate later.

•Yeah, documentation is key. I learned that the hard way 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did it take to get through?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. Just got a call when an agent was ready.

have you tried reaching out to your local state rep? sometimes they can light a fire under the unemployment office's a**

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, start dialing 2 minutes before. Sometimes you can get through before the queue fills up.

•This! Also, try calling on Wednesdays. For some reason it seems to be their least busy day.

Anyone else notice that the online portal is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

•EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in 😤

Honestly, at this point I'm considering hiring a lawyer. Has anyone gone that route?

•I looked into it. Most won't take unemployment cases unless you've been denied. Might be worth a consult tho
