NYDOL: Can't get through on phone, forgot PIN, need to verify docs received. Help!
I'm trying to check if the DOL received my documents from last week, but I can't get through on the phone. The message says they're too busy to take calls. I also realized I forgot my PIN. Does anyone know what to do in this situation? Is the PIN for the DOL or something else?

Ugh, classic DOL. They're always 'too busy' to help us when we need it most. I've been in the same boat, trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

•Tell me about it! I've been calling every day for the past two weeks. It's ridiculous how understaffed they are.

•Tried that too. No luck. It's like playing the lottery, except the prize is just talking to a human 😂

The PIN is definitely for the DOL system. If you forgot it, you can usually reset it online. Go to the DOL website and look for a 'Forgot PIN' option. If that doesn't work, you might have to mail in a request for a new PIN (yeah, snail mail in 2023, can you believe it?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and waits for a live agent to pick up. Then it sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? That's steep. But I guess if it works...

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

•Just used it yesterday. Can confirm it works. Got through in about an hour.

Here's what I'd do: 1. Try resetting your PIN online first. 2. If that doesn't work, keep calling the DOL. Be persistent! 3. While you're waiting to get through, gather all your documents. 4. When you finally reach someone, ask them to confirm they received your docs. 5. If they didn't get them, ask for a secure way to resend. Remember, patience is key. The system is overwhelmed, but keep at it!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and attempts. It might come in handy later.

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming what we're entitled to.

•It's by design. They make it hard so people give up. Stay strong and keep fighting!

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out to your local state representative. Sometimes they can help expedite things or at least get you some answers. Worth a shot!

Anybody else notice that the DOL website is always down for 'maintenance' when you need it most? 🙄 It's like they're running it on a potato or something.
