Has anyone with DDD of 3/15 received their refund at Bank of America yet?

I filed my taxes on February 7th and got accepted right away. When I checked my transcript last week it showed a direct deposit date of 3/15. It's now 3/16 and I still don't see anything in my Bank of America account. Anyone else with the same DDD and BoA gotten their refund yet? Starting to get worried because I was counting on that money to pay some bills this month.

I'm in the exact same boat with Bank of America and same deposit date. My WMR tool shows the refund was sent on 3/15 but nothing in my account yet. Called BoA and they said they don't see any pending deposits. From past experience, BoA typically takes 1-2 business days after the DDD to actually post the refund to your account. Since 3/15 was a Friday, you might not see it until Monday or Tuesday. I wouldn't start worrying until Wednesday honestly.

Thanks for letting me know! That makes me feel better. Hate how BoA makes us wait even after the IRS sends it.

BoA is THE WORST with tax refunds. They hold onto our money for as long as legally possible. I switched to a credit union last year and got my refund on my DDD. No more waiting games.

No problem! Yeah BoA loves to hold onto money as long as possible. Let us know when yours hits.

Hey I was in a similar situation last month and was trying to figure out what was going on with my transcript and refund status. I tried calling the IRS (useless) and checking WMR constantly (equally useless). Finally someone told me about taxr.ai and it was a complete game changer. It analyzed my transcript, told me exactly what was happening with my refund, and even explained all those confusing codes. Now I actually understand what's going on instead of just guessing and stressing. The peace of mind was honestly worth it. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

It does way more than just read it. It actually explains what each code means in plain english, tells you if theres any issues with your return, gives you timelines for when you'll get your refund based on whats happening, and even helps with IRS letters. I was completely lost before using it.

OMG I JUST TRIED IT AND WOW! This is actually incredible! I've been trying to understand my transcript for weeks and this tool literally explained everything in seconds. Showing me exactly why my refund was delayed and when to expect it. Everyone dealing with IRS issues needs to know about this!! 💯

I had my DDD for 3/15 and have BoA. My refund hit my account this morning (3/16) around 7am eastern. Maybe check again? Sometimes they process in batches throughout the day.

After waiting WEEKS to talk to someone at the IRS about my refund delays (had a 3/1 DDD that never showed up), I finally found a solution. Used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me a callback from an actual IRS agent within 2 hours. The agent explained there was a small issue with my direct deposit info that was holding things up and fixed it on the spot. My refund showed up 3 days later. Seriously saved me from waiting who knows how much longer.

100% real. I was super skeptical too but was desperate after trying for weeks. The IRS agent called ME back and actually fixed my issue. Best money I've spent in a long time considering I was waiting on thousands in my refund.

Does it actually work for amended returns? I filed an amendment in October and the where's my amended return tool still says processing 😩

Yep! My sister used it for her amended return issues. Got to talk to someone who could actually see what was happening with her amendment rather than the useless automated system.

Bank of America customer here! Had a DDD of 3/15 also, refund showed up today (3/16) around noon. If your WMR shows "refund sent" it should be there soon. BoA always takes at least 24 hours after the official DDD to post in my experience.

Just checked again and still nothing 😭 WMR says refund sent on 3/15. Hopefully tomorro

The IRS sends refunds in batches, and banks process them at different speeds. DDD of 3/15 means the IRS sent it on 3/15, but since that was a Friday, most banks (especially big ones like BoA) won't process until the next business day which is Monday 3/18. I've had BoA for years and they ALWAYS take the full processing time. Don't worry yet!

PSA: If your DDD lands on a weekend or holiday, the actual deposit usually happens on the next business day. Also, different banks have different processing times. Credit unions tend to be fastest, big banks like BoA and Chase tend to be slower. This is completely normal!

This is 100% true. My husband and I filed same day, same DDD, but he has a credit union and got his 2 days before I did with Chase.

DDD 3/15 with Bank of America here too. Mine came through at exactly 3:17 PM today (3/16). Bank of America is notoriously slow with tax refunds. They've been doing this for years - basically holding our money for an extra day to earn interest on it before giving it to us. 🙄

Just a heads up - check that your refund amount matches what you were expecting. I had a DDD of 3/9 and when it finally hit my account on 3/11, it was about $430 less than what I filed for. Turns out the IRS adjusted it due to a math error I made. You can verify on your transcript if the refund amount changed.

This happened to me too! Refund was $782 less than I expected. Had to go through my transcript to figure out why and it was because of a tax credit I claimed incorrectly.

How do you see if they adjusted it on transcript? I'm worried mine might be adjusted too but I can't make sense of all those codes

Look for code 971 or 570 on your transcript. These usually indicate an adjustment was made. The most recent 846 code will show the actual refund amount they're sending.

BANK OF AMERICA IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!1! I've had DDD on 3/15 too and my money didnt hit until today at like 4pm. Meanwhile my sister with her small local credit union got her refund ON HER DDD. BoA holds these deposits to make money off the interest. Next year Im switching banks just for this reason. They do this every. single. year. 🤬

You might have gotten stuck in the PATH Act verification. If you claimed EITC or ACTC, those returns get extra scrutiny and sometimes causes delays even after you have a DDD. I filed 1/29, got accepted same day, but didn't get my DDD until 3/8 because of PATH Act verification. Then it took BoA another 2 days after my DDD to actually show the deposit.

0 coins

-

Lilah Brooks

I did claim EITC this year! But I thought once you have a DDD the PATH act stuff is done? My transcript shows code 846 which is supposed to mean refund issued right?

0 coins

-

16d

Ruby Knight

Yeah, if you have code 846 with a date of 3/15, then PATH verification is complete and your refund was sent out. It's just BoA being slow at this point. If it's not there by Tuesday, then I'd start calling.

LPT: Get yourself a second account at a local credit union for tax refunds and government payments. I have BofA for my main banking but use my credit union for tax refunds because they process them 1-2 days faster EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Just update your direct deposit info each year when you file.

I just tried it and it actually does work really well. Explained a TC971 code on my transcript that I had no idea what it meant. Turns out I had a small math error that's delaying my refund.

Definitely not an ad! I was just as skeptical but it seriously helped me figure out why my refund was delayed. The IRS website is basically useless and the phone lines are impossible to get through. This tool explained everything in like 2 minutes.

To answer ur actual question: I have BoA and my DDD was also 3/15. It came through this morning around 9am Pacific. If u dont see it by monday morning id call the bank, not the IRS. The IRS already sent it so its BoA thats slow.

After almost giving up, I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me a callback from an actual IRS agent in under 45 minutes. If you're stuck in IRS limbo definitely check them out.

Yes! I had the exact same experience - constant disconnects and "due to high call volume" messages. Claimyr basically navigates the phone tree for you and holds your place in line. When an agent is available they call you back. Talked to a super helpful agent who fixed my issue on the spot.

Can confirm - used this last month when my refund was stuck in processing for 2+ months. Got a call back from an IRS agent who identified the issue (an ID verification flag that I never received notice about) and helped me clear it. Refund came about 10 days later.

I work at a bank (not BoA). Here's how this process actually works: 1. IRS sends the ACH payment on your DDD (3/15) 2. ACH processing typically takes 24 hours for the receiving bank to process 3. If your DDD falls on a Friday, most banks won't process until Monday 4. Larger banks tend to batch process these deposits Bottom line: for a Friday 3/15 DDD with BoA, expect it Monday or Tuesday. This is normal.

WMR is showing my refund was sent, but nothing in my account yet. Called that stupid IRS automated system and it just tells me the same thing as WMR. Been trying to talk to an actual human for days with no luck. This is so frustrating!!

Try using Claimyr (claimyr.com) - it's the only way I was able to get through to an actual IRS agent. Had my refund issues resolved in one call and it was the best money I've spent this year considering I was waiting on a $4k refund.

Just tried this and got a callback in 30 min! Agent said my refund was sent but there was a routing number issue. She fixed it right there and said I should see the deposit in 5-7 days. THANK YOU!!!

ATTENTION: If you filed with a tax preparer who takes their fees out of your refund, your money goes through a third party bank first (like SBTPG or Republic Bank) BEFORE reaching your account. This adds 1-2 more days to the process. Check if this applies to you!

My DDD was 3/15 with BoA and it hit my account at 3:30am today (3/16). Just woke up to it. Check your pending transactions, sometimes it shows there first before posting.
