Anyone with 3/12 DDD seeing deposits yet? Still waiting on mine

Has anyone with a direct deposit date of 3/12 received their tax refund yet? My transcript updated last week showing the DDD but nothing in my account so far. Bank is Chase if that matters. Getting a bit anxious since I need these funds asap. Checked the IRS2Go app and it still says approved and should be sent on 3/12. Starting to worry something might have gone wrong...

Angelica Smith

The IRS usually releases funds to banks on the date shown as your DDD, but banks can hold it for 1-5 business days depending on their policies. Chase typically posts deposits same day or next business day after receiving them. If your DDD is 3/12, you might not see it until end of day or possibly tomorrow. A few things to check: - Verify the bank account info on your return matches your current account - Check if you had any tax preparer fees deducted from refund - Look at your transcript for any TC 846 code which confirms the refund was sent - Sometimes refunds are offset for past debts without notice If nothing shows by the end of the week, call the IRS refund hotline at 800-829-1954. They can tell you if it was actually sent out.

Thank you for the detailed reply! I double-checked and my bank info is correct on the return. I did file through TurboTax but paid the fee upfront, not from the refund. I'll check for that TC 846 code on my transcript.

Chase actually does post same day most of the time. I bank with them too and my refund showed up around 3am on my DDD date. Maybe give it till tomorrow morning?

Calling the IRS is literally impossible these days. I tried 17 times last month and could never get through 😩

If you need to reach the IRS, use claimyr.com - I was at my wits end trying to reach someone about my delayed refund. The service got me a callback within an hour when I'd spent days trying on my own. Completely worth it to finally talk to a real human.

100% worked for me. Had been trying to reach someone for weeks about a similar refund issue. Got a callback while I was making dinner and the agent fixed my problem in like 10 minutes. Honestly saved my sanity and got my money released.

Trying to decipher IRS transcripts and refund statuses is like solving a puzzle with missing pieces. I finally stopped driving myself crazy and used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It translated all those codes and dates into plain English and showed me EXACTLY why my refund was delayed and when to expect it. Saved me hours of googling random tax codes and stressing out. The site even explained a mistake on my return that was causing the holdup. https://taxr.ai

Is this one of those sites that wants all your personal info? Seems sketchy to trust a random website with tax stuff.

They just analyze the transcript you upload - it's actually way simpler than I expected. I was hesitant too but the analysis was spot on. Turns out I had a hold code I totally missed when looking at it myself.

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

I JUST TRIED THIS AND OMG EVERYONE NEEDS TO USE IT!! I've been staring at my transcript for weeks not understanding why my refund was delayed. The tool explained everything - turns out I had an income verification review that was completed but waiting for processing. It even showed me the exact date my refund should be issued! No more guessing or anxiety 🙌

I have the same DDD and bank. Nothing yet but my refunds always hit around 3am EST the day of or 1 day after. I've seen it happen as late as 2 days after though. The IRS is probably processing thousands of refunds today so just be patient, it'll come.

Got mine at 2:45 AM this morning with Capital One. Last year it came 2 days after the DDD. Its different for everyone and every bank has different posting times. The funds get released from the IRS on your DDD but then its up to your bank to actually make them available.

Yep same here, Capital One always posts my refund early morning of DDD. My wife banks with a credit union and hers always takes 2-3 additional days even with the same DDD.

if ur worried about ur money check ur transcript for code 846. thats the one that means its been sent out. the date next to it is when its supposed to hit ur bank. but banks do their own thing sometimes and can hold it. chase usually doesn't hold them tho so maybe give it until tomorrow morning? also the where's my refund tool on irs.gov is more up to date than irs2go in my experiance

Thanks for the tip! I'll check for code 846. I'm just anxious because I really need this money for some bills coming up soon.

The transcript is more reliable than WMR or the app. Sometimes WMR doesn't update for days even after the money is sent.

yeah WMR is kinda trash lol. But if u can't figure out ur transcript u can use taxr.ai to make sense of all the codes. It broke down my entire file and showed why I had a delay last year. Even told me exactly when to expect my $$$ and it was spot on https://taxr.ai

Had the EXACT same issue with a 3/5 DDD. Got so frustrated trying to get answers from the IRS that I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to an actual IRS agent in less than an hour. Found out my refund was held for an extra verification step, and the agent processed it right away while I was on the phone. Got my deposit two days later. Talking to a real person made all the difference.

Seems suspicious. Why would you need a service to talk to the IRS?

Because trying to call them normally is like trying to win the lottery. I spent DAYS hitting redial and getting nowhere. The service basically navigates their phone system and holds your place in line. When they reach an agent, you get a call. Honestly it was the best money I've ever spent to finally get my questions answered.

I used this too! Was skeptical but desperate after waiting 4 months for my refund. The IRS agent I talked to found a discrepancy in my return that wasn't even showing up on my transcript and fixed it on the spot.

Just got mine about 10 minutes ago with Wells Fargo! Same DDD as you. Check your account, might be there now.

DDD means nothing these days 🤡 I've seen people get it early, on time, late, or in some cases never without additional calls. The IRS is a complete disaster. I had a 2/20 date and didn't get mine until 3/1 for no reason they could explain.

OMG this! The IRS is so broken. I had a similar experience last year and when I finally got through to someone they said "oh there was a note on your account" but couldn't even tell me what it meant 🤦‍♀️

It's pretty sad when a government agency responsible for collecting and distributing billions of dollars can't even stick to their own deadlines. No other business would be allowed to operate this way.

Facts 💯 And they expect us to file perfectly on time or pay penalties, but they can be months late with refunds with zero consequences.

After struggling for weeks to make sense of my transcript delays, I finally broke down and tried taxr.ai - game changer! It explained each code in simple English and even showed me that I had a refund freeze that was just released. Website predicted my DDD would be exactly 10 days after the freeze release, and that's exactly what happened. No more endless googling and guessing!

man I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't understand those transcripts... all those codes might as well be hieroglyphics lol

I might have to check this out if my refund doesn't show up soon. The transcript is confusing with all those codes.

Called about my delayed refund today using claimyr.com and actually got through to a real person at the IRS after months of trying the normal number. Found out there was a review flag on my account that was completed but never cleared. The agent removed it while I was on the phone and said my refund should process within 3-5 days. Talking to an agent got my refund released so fast!

That's exactly why I tried it! Was at my absolute last straw after calling for weeks and never getting through. It was literally the only way I could talk to a live agent. My refund hit my account this morning, 4 days after the call.

Interesting... I've been waiting since January. What kind of info do you need to provide them?

0 coins

-

Zoe Wang

You don't give them any info - they just get you through the IRS phone system. Then you talk directly to the IRS yourself. It's like having someone wait on hold for you.

i worked at a bank. the DDD is when the irs releases the money, but ACH transfers take 1-3 business days to clear. most banks will front you the money if you're a customer in good standing, but they dont actually receive the funds right away. be patient.

Anyone else notice how all these companies that process your return through a bank account (like TT, HR Block, etc) cause way more delays than direct filing with the IRS? They sit on your money for days even if they dont take fees out of your refund! 😡

-

Victoria Stark

YES! I switched to direct filing this year and got my refund in half the time compared to last year when I used one of those services.

They make interest on everyone's refunds while they hold them. It adds up to millions when you think about how many people file through them.

Sometimes there are delays that don't show up on WMR or even your transcript. Last year I had a "random review" that delayed my refund by 3 weeks past my DDD with zero notification. I finally found out what was happening by using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it spotted patterns in the codes that indicated the review. Saved me hours of pointless calls and stress! https://taxr.ai
