Anyone with 2/26 direct deposit date still not received their refund? Starting to worry
Just checked my transcript again and it says direct deposit date of 2/26 but still nothing in my account. I filed early March and got accepted pretty quick, but now I'm getting worried. Bank says they don't see any pending deposits. Anyone else with a 2/26 date still waiting? This is frustrating because I was counting on this money for some bills coming up. Called my bank twice and they said to contact the IRS, but we all know how impossible that is. Wondering if I should just keep waiting or if something went wrong.

IRS direct deposit dates can sometimes take 1-5 business days after the listed date to actually hit your account, depending on your bank's processing times. A 2/26 date means the IRS has approved and sent your refund, but it doesn't mean it will arrive exactly on that date. If you don't see it by March 4th (5 business days after), then you should try to contact the IRS. Here are a few things to check: - Verify the bank account number on your return is correct - Check if you have any offsets or debts that might reduce your refund - Look at your transcripts for any TC 570/971 codes that might indicate a hold - Make sure you're looking at the right tax year transcript If the bank account info is wrong, the IRS will mail a paper check instead, but that takes several more weeks.

ā¢Thanks for this breakdown! I double-checked my bank info and it's definitely correct. No offsets that I know of either. Guess I'll just wait a few more days before panicking.

ā¢I had the SAME thing happen last year! The bank swore they didnt see it but it showed up randomly on like day 4. Banks are sooo slow with processing sometimes

ā¢what about if the transcript still says "being processed"? mine has been like that for weeks now š©

ā¢If it says "being processed" that means you're still in the review stage. You won't have a direct deposit date yet. Could be identity verification, could be a manual review. Different situation than OP who already has a DD date.

I was in the exact same situation last week - had a deposit date but nothing showing up. I was going crazy trying to figure out what was happening by digging through my transcript codes. Finally used taxr.ai to help interpret what was going on with my transcript. It explained everything clearly and showed me that my refund had a slight delay code that I completely missed! Saved me hours of stress and googling random codes. Seriously, it's been a gamechanger for dealing with IRS stuff - taxr.ai gave me a detailed breakdown of exactly what was happening and when to expect my deposit. It finally arrived yesterday!

ā¢Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

ā¢It's AMAZING! You upload your transcript and it gives you this super detailed explanation of every code, tells you exactly what's happening with your return, when to expect your refund, and even explains any delays or issues. It caught things I totally missed when I was trying to decode it myself. The timeline prediction was spot on too - told me exactly when my money would arrive. Def check out taxr.ai if you're dealing with transcript confusion!

ā¢Nah this one's different fr. I've tried all those free tools and they just tell you basic stuff. This actually explained my specific situation and told me exactly what was happening with MY refund. I was about to call the IRS and waste hours on hold but didn't need to after using this.

After waiting 3 weeks past my DD date and getting nowhere, I finally got through to an actual human at the IRS using claimyr.com. Had a live agent call me back within an hour! They explained my refund got flagged for an extra review but was actually released 2 days ago and should hit my account tomorrow. Talking to an actual person saved me weeks of anxiety wondering what was happening. Honestly it was the best $20 I've ever spent to finally get my questions answered instead of waiting on hold for 6 hours.

ā¢100% worked for me. It basically just holds your place in the IRS phone queue and then calls you when an agent is available. Saved me from having to listen to that awful hold music for hours lol. My refund is already in my account now.

ā¢Hmm I've been trying to reach the IRS for weeks with no luck. Might have to try this... you really got a callback same day?

ā¢Yep! Got a call within like 45 minutes. The IRS agent was super helpful once I actually got to talk to them - fixed everything right away. Would've been stuck in limbo for weeks otherwise.

check whos on your transcript as your bank. my mom had the same issue but turns out she had turbo tax fees taken out and it was sent to them first THEN to her bank which added like 5 more days.

ā¢Oh crap, I did file through TurboTax and had the fees taken out of my refund. This might be exactly what's happening! Gonna check for that now.

ā¢omg YES this happens all the time. turbo tax, hr block, taxslayer all do this annoying thing where they get it first then send it to you. suuuuper annoying and they dont make it clear

The IRS is a complete joke this year. I had a 1/17 deposit date and didnt get mine til 2/2. Almost 3 weeks late with ZERO explanation. And of course you cant get anyone on the phone.

ā¢I finally got thru to a human after using claimyr.com - they called me back in 30 min when I'd been trying for weeks on my own. Got my issue resolved in 10 min once I talked to someone. Best money I ever spent tbh

Did you check Where's My Refund tool? Sometimes it has more updated info than the transcript.

ā¢Yeah tried that first. It just says approved with the 2/26 date but no update since then š

are you SURE you entered the right bank info? triple check your return. I had a friend who put one digit wrong last year and had to wait 6 weeks for a paper check

FYI for everyone - I just checked and there's an IRS system update happening this weekend which can delay some refunds by a few days. might be worth checking transcripts on Monday to see if anything updated. I was freaking out about my missing deposit last month until I saw the system update notice.

If your WHERE'S MY REFUND still says approved with a date, you should get it. If it went from approved back to processing, thats when you have a problem. Ask me how I know š¤”

I had the same problem and was going crazy trying to figure out my transcript. I couldn't make sense of all the weird codes. I used taxr.ai and it immediately showed me that my refund had a slight delay but was still coming. It explained every code on my transcript in plain english and gave me an exact timeline. Two days later my refund showed up exactly when taxr predicted! Saved me so much stress.

ā¢does this actually work or is it just another tax scam? so tired of services that just tell you generic info

Mei Lin
ā¢It's legit. It actually goes through your specific transcript and explains everything in detail - not just generic info. Tells you exactly what's happening with YOUR refund and what all those weird codes mean. Saved me from having to call the IRS which is basically impossible these days.

Do you owe any back taxes or child support? Those get taken out automatically and can delay things.

After weeks of trying to get someone on the phone at the IRS with no luck, I used claimyr.com to get a callback and it worked! Agent saw that my refund had a random verification flag on it that was holding things up. She fixed it right away and my refund hit my account 2 days later. Worth every penny not to waste hours on hold just to get disconnected.

ā¢It costs a bit but when you consider I was about to lose way more in late fees for bills I needed to pay with my refund, it was totally worth it. Got my $4300 refund unstuck within days when I might've been waiting months otherwise.

are you by any chance using one of those advance refund things from H&R or TurboTax? those ALWAYS cause delays

The IRS owes me $7,428 and I'm on week 8 of them "processing" it. Transcripts showed a verification hold but I never got any letter. I finally broke down and got someone on the phone using claimyr.com (got a callback in like 30 min!) and they said I needed to verify some info. Did that on the spot and now my refund should be here in 7-10 days. Wish I had done this weeks ago instead of stressing!

ā¢YES. Literally the only way I ever got through to a human. I tried calling the normal way for WEEKS with no luck - constant busy signals or disconnects. With Claimyr I got a callback in 30 min. Agent fixed my issue right away and my refund is being released now.

just fyi guys - dont waste your time calling the IRS regular line. use the taxpayer advocate number instead: 1-877-777-4778. sometimes works better but still a pain

it might be sent but your bank has it in pending. some banks will hold federal deposits for 1-3 days for clearing, especially in high fraud areas.

Look at your transcript for codes 846, 570, or 971. Those will tell you what's actually happening. 846 with a date means funds released. 570/971 combo usually means there's an issue they're reviewing.
0 coins
Ravi Gupta
ā¢I have an 846 with the 2/26 date, but nothing else showing up after that.
0 coins
Keisha Williams
ā¢If you have 846 with 2/26 date and no other codes after it, then it should definitely be coming soon. That means the IRS has approved and sent it. Most likely it's either 1) still in transit between banking systems or 2) your bank is holding it for processing for a day or two. I'd give it until Monday before worrying.
