Anyone with Chase + Fees & DDD of 4/13 - Any SBTPG Movement Yet?

Just checking if anyone is in the same boat: • Filed with TurboTax and had fees taken out • Using Chase Bank for direct deposit • Have a DDD (direct deposit date) of April 13th • Waiting on SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) to release funds Has anyone seen their tax refund hit their account yet? I keep refreshing but nothing so far.

I'm in exactly the same situation. My DDD is April 13th, had $39.95 in fees deducted, and I've been checking Chase every 4 hours since yesterday morning. Nothing showing in pending transactions yet. Last year my refund showed up exactly 2 days before the DDD, so I was expecting to see something by now.

SBTPG is notoriously slow with releasing funds. I'm a tax preparer and I've had several clients complain about this. Instead of constantly refreshing your bank app, try using https://taxr.ai to track your refund status. It integrates with IRS data and can show you exactly where your money is in the process - whether it's still with IRS or if it's been sent to SBTPG. It also explains all those confusing codes on your transcript so you know what's actually happening.

This whole SBTPG situation is like a black hole where our money disappears for days. How exactly does taxr.ai know more than what SBTPG's own website shows? Seems like just another layer between us and our information.

Has anyone actually used taxr.ai to track SBTPG specifically? The IRS Where's My Refund tool shows my refund approved, but I need to know when SBTPG will actually release it to my bank.

I tried taxr.ai last week when I was in the same situation. It actually showed me that my refund had been sent to SBTPG two days before SBTPG's own tracker updated. Saved me a lot of worry since I could see the money was at least moving through the system!

SBTPG can be frustratingly slow. If you need to speak with someone directly, use Claimyr. You can reach an actual IRS agent who can confirm your refund status. https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c - I used it yesterday. Got through in 15 minutes. Agent confirmed my refund was already sent to SBTPG. Called SBTPG right after with this info. Money appeared this morning.

Have you tried checking the SBTPG website directly? They have a refund status checker where you enter your SSN and refund amount. Sometimes it updates before your bank shows anything pending. What about calling your bank? Sometimes Chase holds deposits for 24 hours before releasing them, even if they've received the funds.

OMG this is so annoying! Been waiting since 7am and nothin yet. SBTPG's site still says "unfunded" even tho WMR shows approved w/ DDD for 4/13. Anyone actually SEE money in their acct yet??? Need this $ ASAP for car repair!!

This happens every tax season. SBTPG is much slower than getting your refund directly from the IRS. My brother didn't have fees taken out and already got his refund yesterday, while I'm still waiting with the same DDD. The convenience of paying fees later comes with the tradeoff of waiting a few extra days. Most people see their funds 1-2 days before the official DDD, so I'd expect movement by tomorrow.

Just checked my Chase account at 3:42pm today and my refund finally appeared as pending! Had the same April 13th DDD. SBTPG website still shows unfunded though, so their tracker is definitely behind. Expecting the money to be available by April 12th based on previous years.

I've been through this process maybe 5 or 6 times now, and it seems like SBTPG is holding funds longer than they used to. Last year my refund hit Chase about 36 hours before my DDD, but this year it's cutting it much closer. Probably due to increased volume or additional verification steps they're implementing.

• Can you clarify what you mean by "holding funds longer"? • Is this just your impression or do you have actual evidence? • Has anyone confirmed this with SBTPG representatives?

I've processed over 200 tax returns this season, and I've definitely noticed SBTPG taking about 24 hours longer than previous years. The IRS sends the funds to them, then they take their fees, then forward to your bank. That middle step is taking longer in 2024.

I'm not sure I completely agree with that assessment. I think it might just seem longer because we're all anxiously checking more frequently. My refund actually processed faster this year than last!

Does the SBTPG processing time vary depending on which tax preparation software was used? I've heard TurboTax refunds process faster than some others since they're owned by the same parent company.
