Bank of America Direct Deposit - Anyone with 3/18 DDD and Trace Number Received Yet?

I'm so anxious watching my Bank of America account like a hawk! I have a direct deposit date of 3/18 and a trace number from my transcript. Has anyone else with BoA and similar DDD seen their refund hit yet? I'm working from home staring at my banking app and refreshing every hour. I NEED this money to come through! Just trying to figure out if BoA is processing these in batches or if I should be concerned.

Mine hit on March 16th at exactly 3:42am, two days before my official DDD of 3/18. Bank of America typically processes IRS direct deposits in the early morning hours, and they often release funds 1-2 days before the official date. I had a trace number starting with 0903 and my cycle code was 20230905. If you don't see it by tomorrow morning, I'd start checking your transcript for any holds.

Did you have to call BoA to get it released early? My DDD is also 3/18 but nothing yet. Should I be worried that something's wrong with my deposit info?

I have the same DDD and trace number format. My deposit just hit at 4:15am today! I checked at midnight and nothing, but just woke up to the notification. BoA definitely does these in batches.

Last year my BoA deposit was 3 days late and I spent hours on hold with the IRS trying to figure out what happened. This year I used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) when my deposit was a day late and got through to an agent in about 15 minutes. Turns out there was a small issue with my account number that they fixed on the spot. My deposit came through the next morning! Worth every penny not to waste an entire day on hold.

Is this service really necessary though? Can't you just: ā€¢ Call early in the morning ā€¢ Use the Spanish line and then ask for English ā€¢ Keep trying different IRS numbers I need my refund TODAY and don't want to spend money just to talk to someone I should be able to reach anyway!

Bank of America utilizes a staged ACH processing protocol for IRS refunds. The Automated Clearing House system typically initiates at midnight EST with batch processing occurring between 2-5am. Your trace number indicates the Federal Reserve routing path and should be visible in your transcript with TC846 code. I'm seeing several DDD 3/18 deposits clearing this morning, but some financial institutions hold funds for 24 hours after receipt. I'd be slightly concerned if it doesn't appear by tomorrow morning.

Wow, I think you might be right about the staged processing. My deposit just showed up about an hour ago, and I have basically the same situation as the OP. It seems like they're definitely processing in batches!

According to the NACHA rules (National Automated Clearing House Association) that I found on their website, banks are allowed to hold ACH deposits until the settlement date. So technically BoA isn't doing anything wrong if they hold until 3/18, even if other banks release early. https://www.nacha.org/rules/operating-rules

I worked in banking operations for 7 years. What's happening is the Federal Reserve sends these in batches, and BoA processes them in order of receipt. Your trace number actually gives clues about which batch you're in. First 2 digits = processing center, next 3 = Julian date, last 6 = sequence. Lower sequence numbers typically process first.

Have you verified that your bank account information on your tax return matches exactly what Bank of America has on file? Even a small discrepancy can cause delays. And did you check if there are any holds on your account that might affect incoming deposits? Bank of America sometimes places temporary holds on large deposits, especially if your account is relatively new or has had overdrafts recently. Worth calling your specific branch to confirm everything is set up correctly for receiving the deposit.

I was in the same boat last week, refreshing my BoA app like it was social media during a celebrity scandal! šŸ˜‚ Finally decided to use https://taxr.ai to check my transcript codes and it explained that my trace number meant the money was definitely sent, just working through the banking system. Saved me from having a panic attack when my deposit showed up a day later than expected. It's like having an IRS translator in your pocket, lol.

Seriously? Another service that costs money just to tell me what I can figure out myself? I'm already stressed about money which is why I need my refund! The IRS website already shows all the codes for free.

My Bank of America deposit hit exactly 28 hours before my official DDD. My trace number started with 0903 and my deposit was $4,372. It appeared as pending at first for about 6 hours, then fully cleared. I've tracked this for 3 years now and BoA has consistently deposited 1-2 days early for me. If your DDD is 3/18, I'd expect it anytime between now and tomorrow morning at 5am.

OMG I'm with BoA too and my DDD is 3/18 but nothing yet. Srsly stressing bc I've got bills due tmrw. Last yr mine came at like 2am the day before DDD. Anyone know if BoA is experiencing delays? My WMR still says refund approved and my transcript hasn't changed. Ugh, tax season is the worst.
