H&R Block Filers - Anyone Actually Received Their Refund Yet?

Filed through H&R Block in January and still haven't seen my refund. Last year I got it within 2 weeks. The year before that took 3 weeks tops. Anyone else use H&R Block and actually received their money yet? Starting to wonder if it's an H&R Block issue or just IRS delays this year. Not interested in excuses, just want to know if anyone's actually gotten paid.

Filed with H&R Block on January 28th. Return acceptance confirmation came through, but my refund is still in Processing limbo according to WMR. From what I've gathered, this isn't necessarily an H&R Block issue - the IRS processing pipeline has significant backlogs this year. The Refund Status tracker is showing extended processing times for many filers regardless of preparation method. If you're claiming certain credits (EITC, CTC), expect additional verification delays.

Have you tried checking your tax transcript on the IRS website? Sometimes it shows more information than the WMR tool. I've been reading on r/tax that transcripts often update before the WMR status changes.

Thanks for breaking this down. Per Publication 2043, the IRS is still working through their backlog from previous years. I'm in the same boat - filed Jan 24 and still waiting. At least I know it's not just me!

Filed exactly on January 23rd with H&R Block. Got acceptance confirmation within 24 hours. Waited exactly 31 days with zero movement. Called IRS 17 times before giving up. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get through to an agent in 22 minutes. Agent confirmed my return was selected for manual review due to a discrepancy between reported income and what they had on file. Would have waited months without knowing if I hadn't called. Worth the fee to not waste hours on hold.

You paid money just to talk to the IRS? That seems like something that should be free. Why should we have to pay to get our own tax refund information?

I felt the same way at first! But oh my goodness, after spending 3 days trying to reach someone and getting disconnected every time, I was at my breaking point. Claimyr doesn't charge for the tax information - they just handle the frustrating phone system part. The IRS service is still free, it's just the connection service that costs. Saved me so much stress!

I've used H&R Block for the past 7 tax seasons and this year is definitely different. Last year, I filed on February 1st and had my refund by Valentine's Day. This year, filed January 25th and just got my refund yesterday. What I've learned is that the IRS is prioritizing differently this season. They seem to be processing simpler returns first, then working through more complex ones. If you claimed any credits or deductions, you're likely in the slower queue. The processing centers are also handling things regionally, so your location might affect timing too.

This is really insightful. I hadn't considered the regional processing aspect. Makes sense why some of my friends got theirs already while I'm still waiting.

Thx for this info! Freaking out bc I need $ for car repairs ASAP. Filed 1/29 w/ H&R and claimed CTC. Guess I'm in the slow lane. Any idea how much longer for credit claims?

Do you happen to know if amended returns are being processed even slower? I had to fix something on mine and I'm wondering if I should just expect to wait until summer at this point.

I appreciate the historical context. Your data points about: • Previous years' timelines • Regional processing differences • Complexity-based prioritization Really help put the current delays in perspective.

My tax return is like a ship lost at sea right now. Filed with H&R Block on January 19th and the IRS is treating my refund like it's buried treasure they don't want to give up. I was completely in the dark until I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It was like turning on a flashlight in a dark room - suddenly I could see that my return had a 570 code (additional account action pending) and a 971 (notice issued). The site explained exactly what these meant and gave me a timeline estimate. Way more helpful than the vague WMR tool that's about as informative as a magic 8-ball.

Is this taxr.ai actually legitimate? The IRS already provides transcript access for free. What does this service offer that you can't get directly from the source? I'm always cautious about third-party services claiming to provide better information than official channels.

If you filed with H&R Block and are still waiting, here's what you should do: 1. First, check your transcript on the IRS website - this often updates before WMR 2. Look for specific codes like 570, 971, or 846 (direct deposit date) 3. If you see a 570 code, don't panic - it's usually just verification 4. Check if you claimed credits like EITC or CTC - these automatically take longer 5. If it's been more than 21 days and no transcript updates, THEN consider calling I'm a bit worried that so many H&R Block filers seem to be experiencing delays this year. I wonder if there's something specific with their software integration.

I think, possibly, you might want to try checking your bank account directly rather than relying on the WMR tool? Sometimes, at least in my somewhat limited experience, the refund actually deposits before the tracker updates. I was sort of surprised when this happened to me last year - the money just appeared in my account even though WMR was still showing as processing. H&R Block might not be the issue at all.

I'm in the same boat with H&R Block, but my coworker who used TurboTax is also still waiting. My brother who used a CPA got his refund in 2 weeks though. Compared to previous years, it seems like the big tax prep software companies are all experiencing more delays than usual. The IRS is definitely prioritizing certain types of returns first. Based on what I've seen in other forums, people with simple returns (just W-2, no credits) are getting processed faster than those with more complex situations.

Filed via H&R Block Premium on January 24th with EITC and CTC. Return was accepted within 24 hours. Transcript showed TC 152 (refund information) on February 12th, followed by TC 846 (refund issued) on February 19th. Direct deposit hit my account February 22nd. The key factor was the PATH Act verification period which mandates additional scrutiny for returns claiming certain refundable credits. H&R Block's transmission protocols functioned correctly in my case, suggesting the variable is more likely related to individual return complexity rather than the preparation software.

Used H&R Block. Got my refund. Took 18 days. Filed January 30th. Had simple return. No credits. Just W-2 income. Direct deposit came February 17th. Friend used same service. Still waiting. She claimed EITC. Different situation. Different timeline.

Filed with H&R Block on February 3rd and just received my refund this morning via direct deposit! Total processing time was 19 days. My return was pretty straightforward - just W-2 income, standard deduction, no credits claimed. Based on what I'm seeing in this thread, it really does seem like the complexity of your return is the biggest factor in processing time this year, not necessarily which tax prep service you used. For those still waiting, hang in there - the IRS appears to be working through the backlog systematically.

That's encouraging to hear! I'm a new H&R Block user this year and filed around the same time as you (Feb 5th) with a similar simple return setup. Still showing "processing" on WMR but your timeline gives me hope that mine should come through soon. It's reassuring to know that 19 days seems to be the current norm for straightforward returns. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Filed with H&R Block on January 31st and still waiting here too. Starting to think this year is just different across the board. I've been checking my transcript weekly and finally saw some movement - got a 971 notice code last Friday but still no 846 deposit date. From what I'm reading here, it sounds like the IRS is just swamped this year regardless of which tax prep service people used. The fact that even CPA-filed returns are taking longer than usual tells me this isn't an H&R Block-specific problem. Really appreciate everyone sharing their timelines and experiences - helps me feel less like I'm the only one stuck in limbo!
