Has anyone with H&R Block Emerald Card gotten their refund deposit from 2/27 DDD yet? Still waiting...

Filed my taxes back in mid-January and got a direct deposit date of 2/27. I use H&R Block Emerald Card for my refund but nothing has showed up yet. It's already 3/1 and I'm getting anxious because I really need that money for bills this month. My WMR tool still shows the 2/27 date but no actual deposit. This isn't like previous years where I'd get it early or at least on time. Has anyone else with H&R Block (not Spruce or other cards) actually received their refund yet from the 2/27 deposit date? Getting really worried something went wrong.

H&R Block Emerald cards typically take 1-3 business days after your deposit date to actually receive funds. The 2/27 date from the IRS is when they release the funds, not necessarily when your bank processes it. Since 2/27 was just Tuesday, I'd wait until Monday before panicking. The IRS and banks don't count weekends as business days for processing. If you don't see it by Monday, call the number on the back of your card to check if there are any pending deposits. Sometimes they put holds on large deposits for security reasons. You can also check your tax transcript on the IRS website to see if there were any changes to your deposit date or if there's any other codes that might explain the delay. Also, make sure you're checking the actual Emerald Card app and not just your regular bank app - sometimes people look in the wrong place.

thanks for the advice. i checked my transcript earlier today and it still shows 2/27 as the deposit date with code 846. nothing has changed since i first checked last week.

I had the same issue last year and my deposit came on day 3. Don't stress yet, the system is just dumb slow sometimes.

yep same here. h&r block is notorious for holding funds a few days. they claim its the irs but we all know they're making interest off our money while we wait 🙄

I was in this exact situation and tried everything until I found taxr.ai. It's this tool that actually reads your transcript and can tell you exactly whats happening with your refund. I was trying to be a detective piecing together all these weird codes and dates but taxr just explained it all for me instantly. Apparently my DDD wasn't actually final because of something the system found, and taxr picked that up when I couldn't. Now I can actually track whats happening instead of guessing. https://taxr.ai saved me so much stress.

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

OMG it's amazing! It reads your transcript but then explains everything in plain english - like why your refund might be delayed, what each code actually means for YOU specifically, and even estimates when you'll actually get paid based on your situation. I literally check it every week during tax season now. No more guessing or anxiety!!

trust me it's worth every penny with how much stress it saves. I was literally losing sleep over my refund situation before I found it. Now I just check once a week and actually understand what's happening. Best investment during tax season.

I also had a 2/27 DDD with H&R Block Emerald and mine hit at 4:30pm yesterday. Have you checked your account this morning? Sometimes they do overnight processing. If you don't have it by Monday definitely call them.

My H&R Block Emerald Card hit exactly 2 days after my DDD. So with a 2/27 DDD you should see it today or tomorrow. But honestly, I got tired of the waiting game and uncertainty with the IRS. This year I used Claimyr.com to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS who could tell me exactly what was happening with my refund. The waiting and uncertainty was killing me until I talked to a real person who confirmed everything was fine and gave me the exact timeline. Been using it every tax season now - best money I've ever spent on tax help.

Wait, you actually got through to the IRS? I thought that was impossible these days. Does this actually work?

Oh yeah it works! I was skeptical too after wasting HOURS on hold and getting disconnected. Claimyr basically does the waiting for you and calls when they get an agent. Talking to an actual IRS person solved my issue in 10 minutes when I'd been stressing for weeks. They confirmed my exact deposit date and explained why it was taking longer than the WMR tool said.

This sounds kinda sus tbh. The IRS never answers their phones.

That's what makes this so valuable! Nobody can get through normally. It's literally the only way I've been able to talk to an agent in years. They have some system that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold for you. When I was freaking out about my delayed refund, getting answers directly from an IRS agent was a lifesaver.

i just checked their site... do they actually get you a callback from the IRS? how long did it take?

Yes! They call you when they have an agent on the line. For me it took about 45 minutes, but that beats the 3+ hours I spent trying on my own and never getting through. The agent I spoke to actually found an issue with my account that was causing the delay and fixed it right there.

H&R Block is THE WORST with timing. I stopped using them after they held my refund for 4 days last year. I switched to using my own bank account for direct deposit and got my refund exactly on my DDD this year. If you can, never use the Emerald Card again next year and just get direct deposit to your regular bank.

This 💯 H&R makes bank off holding our money those extra days. That's literally why they push those cards so hard.

Yup! They're making interest on thousands of peoples refunds while we wait. Scam.

Had a 2/27 DDD and got mine this morning around 6am on my H&R Block Emerald. Might be coming in batches. Check the actual Emerald Card app and not just the text alerts - sometimes the alerts are delayed.

I work at a tax prep place (not H&R) but I can tell you most banks including H&R typically take 1-3 business days after the IRS date to process deposits. If you filed with them, you should call your specific H&R office - they often have more info than the general customer service line. Don't panic yet!

Make sure you don't have any offsets or garnishments? Child support, student loans, or old tax debt can cause delays or reduce your refund. Check your transcript for code 898 which would indicate an offset.

no offsets or garnishments that i know of. transcript just has the 846 code with 2/27 date. nothing else weird showing up

sometimes banks hold larger deposits. anything over $10,000 usually gets flagged for review. was your refund big?

not to freak you out but my emerald card got hacked last year and someone took my refund before i could get to it. make sure you check if there were any transactions or withdrawals you didn't make!!

The WMR tool is notoriously inaccurate this time of year. Mine said 2/20 but didn't hit until 2/23. My sister is still waiting on hers from 2/15 lol. The whole system is a mess. They're probably just backed up with all the early filers.

the IRS is a joke. can spend billions on auditing ppl making under 50k but cant process refunds on time 🤡

Try checking your status on the IRS site directly instead of using the WMR tool. Sometimes WMR doesn't update but your transcript will show what's actually happening. Go to irs.gov, create an account if you don't have one, and view your account transcript for 2023.

Similar issue happened to me. After days of trying to figure out what was going on, I finally used Claimyr.com to get someone on the phone at the IRS. Turns out there was a small discrepancy in my filing that was causing the delay, but it wasn't showing up anywhere on the website. The agent fixed it on the spot and I got my refund 2 days later. Talking to an actual human at the IRS was the only thing that worked - best tax decision I've made in years.

It was totally worth it. I spent like 8 hours trying to get through on my own with no luck. The peace of mind from actually talking to someone who could see my full file and explain exactly what was happening was priceless. And once they fixed the issue my refund came right through.

Definitely not alone. I'm in the same situation with the same dates. H&R Block is always slower than other banks. My friend with Chase got her refund a day early from the same deposit date. It's frustrating but I'm giving it until Monday before I start calling and complaining.

This happened to me last year. It was super frustrating, but I randomly got a deposit notification at like 11pm on a Friday night, three days after my scheduled date. The H&R block system is weird with timing. If Monday comes with nothing, definitely call, but I bet it shows up over the weekend.
