H&R Block Filers - Anyone Received Their Refund Yet?
Has anyone who filed through H&R Block actually received their tax refund yet??? I filed nearly 3 weeks ago and still nothing. Is it just me or is everyone who used H&R Block experiencing delays? Should I be worried at this point or is this normal processing time? I'm an independent contractor so I'm always anxious about my returns being flagged...

I filed with H&R Block on February 18th and got my refund direct deposited yesterday. The IRS Where's My Refund tool never updated beyond the first bar for me. Just showed processing then suddenly the money was in my account. No notification or anything.

That's actually pretty common this year! The WMR tool seems to be lagging behind actual processing. Did you have any credits on your return? That can sometimes explain why some people get theirs faster than others. (I've been tracking mine like a hawk too, lol

Same thing happened to me but with TurboTax. The WMR tool is completely useless compared to last year. At least with TurboTax I could see when it was accepted by the IRS. H&R Block used to be better at showing status updates than they are now.

According to Internal Revenue Manual 21.4.1, normal processing time is 21 days for e-filed returns without complications. However, the current backlog has extended this timeline significantly. If you need to speak with an actual IRS representative to check your status, I had success using Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com). Instead of waiting on hold for 3+ hours, I was connected to an agent in under 30 minutes who confirmed my return was still in processing but not flagged for review.

Does this actually work? I've tried calling the IRS three times and couldn't get through. How much does it cost?

I've filed with H&R Block for the past 4 years and this year is definitely taking longer. Last year I got my refund in 9 days, but I'm on day 24 now with nothing. Called H&R Block and they just said it's "in process" with the IRS. I'm starting to get a bit worried since I need this money for some upcoming bills.

I was in the same situation! Here's what worked for me: 1. First, I checked my H&R Block account to confirm it was actually transmitted (it was) 2. Then I created an account on the IRS website to view my transcript 3. My transcript showed processing codes that weren't visible on WMR 4. Four days later my refund suddenly appeared in my account It seems like H&R Block returns aren't being delayed specifically - it's affecting everyone regardless of preparer. My sister filed with TurboTax on the same day and is still waiting.

I'm so stressed about this! I filed on February 10th with H&R Block and still nothing! I'm worried my return has some kind of problem that's not being communicated to me. š«

The transcript is key here. Look specifically for TC 150 (return filed), TC 570 (hold placed on account), and TC 571 (hold released). If you see a TC 846 with a date, that's your direct deposit date. Most H&R Block filers I've spoken with are seeing normal processing codes, just with longer timeframes than previous years.

Is anyone else having trouble even accessing their transcript? I keep getting verification errors when I try to create an account on the IRS site. How else can I check my actual status if WMR isn't updating?

I filed with H&R Block on February 2nd and just received my refund on March 14th - exactly 40 days later. What helped me understand what was happening was using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It explained all those confusing codes and gave me a predicted deposit date that was spot on. Before that I was completely in the dark about why my return was taking so long despite being accepted right away.

Be careful with H&R Block status updates. Mine showed "approved" for weeks. Called IRS eventually. Had an error code. Needed to verify identity. Lost three weeks because I trusted the H&R Block tracker. Always check directly with IRS.

H&R Block filer here with timeline: ā¢ Filed: Feb 8 ā¢ Accepted: Feb 8 ā¢ WMR showed first bar only for 3 weeks ā¢ Transcript updated Mar 1 with 570 code ā¢ Called IRS Mar 5 - told to wait ā¢ Refund deposited Mar 12 Need to check ASAP if you're getting delayed! Could be simple verification or could be something that needs your action!
