PFL claim status - Impossible to reach a real person on the phone. Any tips?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my PFL claim status. I've been trying to get through to someone on the phone, but I keep getting an automated message saying they're busy and to try again later. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to actually reach a real person? I'm getting really frustrated here.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been dealing with the same issue for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to a human being. Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that might help, but no luck for me so far.

Calling when they open is a myth, I swear. I've tried it multiple times and still get the same automated BS. 🤔

Same here! I even set an alarm for 5 minutes before they opened and still couldn't get through. This system is so broken 😤

Thanks for the suggestion, but yeah, I've tried that too. No luck. It's so frustrating!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to pay to talk to someone about our benefits.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's not ideal, but it got me the answers I needed.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! You go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and then they start calling for you. When they get a real person, they connect the call to your phone. It took about an hour for me, but it beat days of trying on my own.

Have you tried emailing them? I know it's not ideal, but I finally got a response after sending like 5 emails. Took forever, but at least I got some info.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's a joke that we can't even get basic information about our claims. Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? Maybe if enough of us complain, something will change.

LOL good luck with that. Politicians don't care about us unless it's election season šŸ™„

I actually had some success with this! My rep's office was able to escalate my case. Took a few weeks, but better than nothing.

Okay, I've been through this rodeo before, so here's what I've learned: • Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. • Try calling at odd hours. Sometimes I've had luck in the late afternoon. • Use the online portal if possible. Sometimes you can get info there without calling. • If you do email, be super specific about your issue and include all relevant info. • Consider reaching out on social media. Sometimes they respond there. • Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. • If all else fails, contact your local representative or the ombudsman. It's a frustrating process, but hang in there. Eventually, you'll get through to someone who can help.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try some of these strategies. It's good to know I'm not alone in this struggle.

Hey OP, when did you file your claim? I've heard they're super backed up right now due to some system upgrades.

I filed about 3 weeks ago. Didn't know about any system upgrades... that might explain the delay. Thanks for the info!

Pro tip: if you can, try to find someone who speaks another language and have them call the non-English line. Sometimes those lines have shorter wait times. Just make sure they can explain your situation clearly!

I'm in the same boat, been trying for days. This whole situation is making my anxiety go through the roof. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get basic information about our benefits? 😫

Hang in there! I know it's tough, but try to take care of yourself too. This stress isn't good for anyone.
