Money Network EDD Card transfer time for first-time users? Need website link ASAP
I just got my EDD benefits approved after waiting almost 5 weeks (retail layoff), and I received my Money Network card in the mail yesterday. I want to transfer the funds to my personal checking account since I've heard horror stories about the prepaid card getting frozen randomly. Problem is, I can't find the actual website to set up the transfer, and I'm wondering how long I should expect the first transfer to take. My rent is due next Friday so I'm getting anxious. Anyone know the correct website (not scam sites) and typical waiting times for first transfers? Thanks in advance!

The official website for your EDD Money Network card is www.moneynetwork.com (then click on 'EDD Debit Card' option). For first-time transfers, you'll need to set up your bank account info and verify it. This usually takes 2-3 business days for the verification deposits, then another 1-2 business days for the actual transfer. So roughly 3-5 business days total for your first transfer. After that, transfers are much faster, usually just 1-2 business days. Make sure you're on the correct website as there are some scam sites with similar URLs.

•Thank you!! So if I set everything up today (Thursday), realistically I might not see the money until next Wednesday or Thursday? Cutting it close with my rent but better than nothing I guess. Do they charge any fees for transfers?

Actually it's www.moneynetwork.com/EDDcard not just moneynetwork.com! And transfers take FOREVER the first time. Mine took almost 8 business days because they had to send those stupid test deposits which were like 11 cents and 17 cents and I had to verify the amounts. The whole system is designed to be difficult on purpose I swear!!

•Sorry for the confusion - the correct website is actually https://www.eddcard.com/ (Money Network is the provider, but this is the specific portal for EDD cards). You're right about the verification deposits though - those micro-deposits are part of the security process.

I set up my transfers back in March and the correct website is definitely https://www.eddcard.com/ - you'll create an account and have access to all your card features. For first transfers, here are the exact steps: 1. Register your card and create online access 2. Go to "Transfer Funds" in the menu 3. Add your bank account (routing and account numbers ready) 4. They'll make 2 small test deposits (under $1) to verify your account 5. Log back in after 2-3 days to verify those amounts 6. Once verified, you can transfer funds (usually takes 1-2 more days) Totally agree that the first transfer takes the longest (3-5 business days total), but after that initial setup, transfers are much quicker. There's no fee for ACH transfers to your bank, which is nice since they charge for almost everything else!

•Thank you for the detailed steps! That really helps. I'm going to set this up right now. Didn't realize I'd need to wait for those test deposits - wish EDD would have explained this better when they sent the card.

UGH the EDD card system is THE WORST!!! I was in the exact same situation in January. The website kept crashing when I tried to set up my transfer and then when I called the customer service line, I was on hold for TWO HOURS before someone picked up. They told me I had entered my routing number wrong (I hadn't) and made me start all over. Then they froze my account for "suspicious activity" just because I was trying to move MY OWN MONEY to MY OWN BANK ACCOUNT!!! Had to wait another 5 days to get that resolved. The whole system is DESIGNED to be frustrating!!!!

•Oh no, that sounds awful! Now I'm even more nervous about setting this up correctly. Did you eventually get it working?

•Yeah eventually... but only after I had to pay late fees on my rent because of their stupid system. Make sure you TRIPLE check all your account numbers and don't make too many failed attempts or they'll lock you out!

I had this same issue last year! If you're having trouble getting answers from EDD about your Money Network card, I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual EDD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. They have this system that basically calls EDD for you and puts you in line, then calls you when an agent is available. Saved me so much frustration when I was dealing with my card issues. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km

One more important thing!!! When you first get your EDD card, there's a maximum amount you can transfer each day (I think it was $1000 when I had mine). So if you have more than that in benefits, you might need to do multiple transfers over several days. Just another way they make it difficult for us!

•This is partially correct - the standard daily limit is $1000 for ATM withdrawals, but for ACH transfers to your bank account, the limit is much higher (typically $5000 per transaction). However, for new accounts in the first 30 days, they sometimes impose lower limits as a security measure. You can call the number on the back of your card to verify your specific limits.

UPDATE: I got it working! For anyone who finds this thread later, the correct website is definitely https://www.eddcard.com/ as people mentioned. I've set up my account and initiated the verification deposits to my checking account. Now I just have to wait for those small deposits to show up so I can confirm the amounts. The rep I spoke with (after being on hold for only 35 minutes, surprisingly) said my first transfer should be processed by next Wednesday if everything goes smoothly with verification. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Great to hear! Just make sure you log back in as soon as you see those test deposits hit your account. The sooner you verify them, the sooner your actual transfer will process.
