Money Network Card Payment Transfer Delay - Funds Not Showing After Release Date

Has anyone else experienced delayed transfers with the new Money Network cards? My EDD funds were supposedly released on 3/15, but it's been 5 days and still nothing in my account. I finally got the new card on Monday and activated it right away, but the money isn't there. When I called the number on the back of the card, the representative mentioned they've been receiving similar calls from other claimants about the same issue. I tried reaching EDD directly but couldn't get through to anyone (big surprise). The rep mentioned something about a "transition period" happening tomorrow - whatever that means. I'm starting to worry since rent is coming up next week and I really need this payment. Anyone else dealing with this or know how long the "transition" actually takes?

OMG yes!!!! Im dealing with this RIGHT NOW. My funds were released 3/13 and still nothing showing up on my Money Network card. This is so frustrating!! I have bills to pay and this new card system is a complete DISASTER. Why couldn't they just stick with BofA??? At least that worked most of the time.

Exactly! At least tell us how long we should expect to wait. Did the rep give you any timeline when you called?

I went through this last month. What's happening is there's a processing delay between when EDD releases the funds and when Money Network actually posts them to your card. With the transition from Bank of America to Money Network, there's an additional verification step happening with many accounts. In my case, the funds showed up exactly 7 days after the release date. The "transition" they mentioned likely refers to the nightly batch processing when Money Network updates accounts. Check your balance first thing tomorrow morning - it should appear then.

Thanks for the insight! 7 days feels like forever when you're waiting for money, but at least that gives me an idea of what to expect. I'll definitely check first thing tomorrow.

This has been a common issue since the transition to Money Network from Bank of America. When EDD says funds are "issued," that just means they've sent the payment instruction, not that Money Network has actually received and processed it. Here's what you need to know: 1. First payment to a new Money Network card typically takes 5-7 business days 2. Subsequent payments should take 1-3 business days 3. The "transition" they mentioned is likely the overnight batch processing 4. You can set up direct deposit through UI Online to avoid card delays entirely If your payment doesn't show up after 7 business days, you should contact EDD directly to confirm the payment wasn't held up on their end for eligibility reasons.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I didn't realize I could set up direct deposit - that sounds like a much better option moving forward. I'll check tomorrow after the overnight processing and then wait until the 7-day mark before really panicking.

I had to call EDD about this exact issue last month! Spent two days trying to get through to someone. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an EDD rep in about 20 minutes. They have this service where they keep calling EDD for you until they get through - saved me days of frustration. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The EDD rep confirmed exactly what others are saying - there's a delay with the first payment to the Money Network card. Mine showed up on day 6. Apparently there's a verification process between EDD and Money Network that adds time.

is this service legit? seems weird to have a third party calling edd for you... do they ask for your ssn or anything?

Just checked and YES! Mine is there too! What a relief. Thanks everyone for your help. I'm definitely setting up direct deposit today to avoid this stress next time.

Glad to hear your funds arrived! For anyone else reading this thread in the future, here's how to set up direct deposit to avoid Money Network delays: 1. Log into UI Online 2. Go to "Profile" then "Payment Method" 3. Select "Direct Deposit" option 4. Enter your bank routing and account numbers 5. Allow 3-5 business days for verification before your first direct deposit Direct deposit is much more reliable than the card system, especially during this transition period.
