EDD payment shows as issued but money missing from Money Network account - 5 days now
So frustrated right now! My EDD claim history shows a payment was issued on April 23 (5 days ago!), but there's absolutely NOTHING in my Money Network account. I've checked the card balance like 20 times a day and still zero. The EDD website clearly shows 'paid' status but the money is nowhere to be found. I've tried calling EDD every morning this week but keep getting the 'we're experiencing high call volume' message and then it hangs up! Has anyone else experienced this delay between EDD payment issuance and funds actually showing up on Money Network? Is there some hidden holding period I don't know about? I've got rent due in 3 days and I'm seriously starting to panic.

•Did you do anything special to fix it or did it just randomly show up eventually?

There are a few things that could be happening here: 1. First payment to Money Network can take 7-10 business days to process initially 2. Bank holidays can delay transfers by 1-2 business days 3. There might be a hold on your account that's not visible in UI Online I'd recommend checking if this is your first payment to Money Network. Also, have you verified your identity through ID.me? If there are identity verification issues, payments can show as issued but get held up in the transfer process.

•This is my third payment, and my ID.me is fully verified (did that back in January). My previous payments hit the card within 24 hours! That's why I'm so worried this time...

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!! The EDD system is completely messed up. They'll show payments as issued when they actually have some kind of hold or "review" that they don't tell you about. I had to wait THREE WEEKS once even though it said paid!!! The only way I fixed it was actually getting through to a real person who could see there was a flag on my account for "additional verification" that wasn't showing up anywhere on my UI Online account.

This happens when there's a mismatch between the payment system and the Money Network card system. There are a few things you can try: 1. Call Money Network directly at 1-866-320-8699 - sometimes they can see pending deposits that aren't showing up yet 2. Check if your Money Network account is still active. Cards can become inactive if not used for a period of time 3. Contact EDD, but don't waste time with the general number. I recently discovered a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that gets you through to an actual EDD agent without the endless redial game. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km In my experience, this issue usually requires talking to an actual EDD rep who can see what's happening on the backend of your claim.

•I'll try Money Network first thing tomorrow morning, thanks! My card is definitely active because I used it at the grocery store last week. Have you personally used that Claimyr service? I'm getting desperate enough to try anything at this point.

•Yes, I used it when my payments were stuck in pending for weeks. It's the only reason I got my issue resolved before I lost my apartment. Just make sure you have your case details ready when they connect you.

Honestly, this feels like the kind of glitch that resolves itself eventually but that doesn't help when you have bills due NOW. I went through a similar issue last year and ended up having to ask my parents for an emergency loan while I waited for EDD to fix whatever was happening behind the scenes. Money Network told me they couldn't see any pending transfers on their end, so the issue was definitely on EDD's side. BTW - don't always trust the EDD websilte status! My payments showed "paid" for almost 2 weeks when they were acutally on hold for "additional review" that I never got notified about!!!

•That's my biggest fear - that it says paid but is actually held up somewhere. The lack of transparency is maddening! Unfortunately I don't have family who can help, so I really need this resolved ASAP.

Listen, the only thing that actually works is getting through to a tier 2 specialist at EDD. Regular representatives can't even see what's really happening with your payment. I had this EXACT issue in February - payment issued but never arrived. Turned out there was a "stop payment alert" triggered by something in their system but it wasn't visible on my end at all. The regular phone people couldn't even see it - only a tier 2 specialist could fix it. I know everyone hates calling EDD (I had to dial 47 times before getting through), but it's honestly the only solution. Ask immediately to be transferred to a tier 2 specialist and don't take no for an answer.

•How do you even get through? I've called over 20 times today alone and either get the busy signal or it tells me they're experiencing high call volume and disconnects.

•Try calling right when they open at 8am. That's how I finally got through after days of trying. Also, Tuesday-Thursday seem to have slightly lower call volumes than Monday/Friday in my experience.

•Thanks, I might have to try that as a last resort. My biggest worry is that even if I get through, they'll just tell me to wait longer. This is so stressful.

Update us when you get this resolved! It would be helpful to know what the actual issue was so others can learn from your experience. These payment delays seem to be happening more frequently in 2025 than they did last year.

•Will do! I'm going to try calling Money Network first thing tomorrow, and if that doesn't work, I'll try the Claimyr service to reach EDD. I'll let everyone know what happens.

UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! Called Money Network first - they confirmed no pending deposits on their end. Used the Claimyr service (it worked exactly like in their demo video) and got through to EDD in about 20 minutes. Turns out there was a "payment review flag" on my account because I had reported some part-time income on my last certification. Even though the payment showed as issued in the system, it was actually on hold! The EDD rep released the payment while I was on the phone and said the money should be on my card within 24-48 hours. What a relief! Thanks everyone for your help.

•Classic EDD - "payment issued" but actually on hold with no notification. Glad you got it fixed before rent was due!
