EDD payments delayed this week - anyone else waiting for UI funds to hit Money Network card?
So frustrated right now. Been certifying on time every two weeks but my payment that should have hit my Money Network card yesterday is still nowhere to be seen. Usually it's there within hours of certification, but it's been over 36 hours now and my account just shows 'payment pending.' No explanation or anything. Called EDD 17 times this morning but can't get through (shocker). Anyone else experiencing delays with their unemployment payments this week? Starting to worry since rent is due Friday and I was counting on this money!

•That makes me feel a little better, at least it's not just me. Have you tried calling them? I'm starting to panic a bit.

There's a notice on the EDD website about a system maintenance causing payment delays this week. It says all payments should be processed by Thursday at the latest. They're apparently updating the certification system which is holding up the normal payment timeline.

•Thanks for letting me know! I totally missed any notification about that. Thursday is cutting it close for rent but at least there's an explanation.

•It's in the "System Alerts" section when you log into UI Online, not on the main public homepage. You have to scroll down past your claim summary to see the notifications area.

THE SAME EXACT THING is happening to me and my roommate!! Both certified Sunday morning and NOTHING has hit our accounts yet. This happened last November too and we didn't get paid for almost TWO WEEKS!! The EDD is COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT and they don't care that people need this money to SURVIVE. I'm so tired of this BS every few months when they "update" something and we all suffer.

•Two weeks?! That's terrifying. I can't wait that long. Did you ever find out why it took so long last time?

•They gave us some garbage excuse about "verification reviews" but I think they just don't have enough staff to process everything. It's RIDICULOUS that we have to suffer because they can't get their act together!!

I was having this same issue earlier this year and discovered that even when the EDD systems are slow, you can often get quick answers by talking to an actual rep. After spending days trying to get through on the main line, I found Claimyr (claimyr.com) which got me connected to an EDD agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The agent I spoke with was able to see exactly what was causing my payment delay (which turned out to be a random quarterly review flag) and pushed it through manually. Might be worth a try rather than waiting until Thursday if you're worried about making rent.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I've never heard of Claimyr before but at this point I'm desperate enough to try anything. Did the rep actually have the ability to speed up your payment?

•Yes, in my case they could expedite it because there wasn't any real issue - it was just stuck in their automated review queue. Obviously depends on your specific situation, but the rep should at least be able to tell you exactly why it's delayed and give you a more specific timeframe than just "by Thursday."

Just to provide some clarification here: The current payment delays are related to the quarterly benefit calculation review that happens every January, April, July, and October. This isn't a random glitch - it's a scheduled process where the system verifies continued eligibility and recalculates benefit amounts based on any reported wages. A few things to know: 1. These delays typically affect payments that fall within the first week of a new quarter 2. Most claims automatically process within 72 hours (though some can take up to 10 days) 3. The verification doesn't change anything for most claimants - it's just a routine check 4. You don't need to do anything special during this time - just continue certifying as normal If your payment is delayed beyond Thursday, then it might be worth calling to speak with a representative to check if there's an additional issue with your specific claim.

•thx for explaining! never realized it was a quarterly thing that explains why this happened back in january too

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! That makes sense now. I'm a first-time unemployment recipient so still learning how all this works. Will the payment still show up on my Money Network card automatically or do I need to do something after the verification completes?

Is anyone else having issues with the Money Network app too? I can't even log in to check my balance since yesterday afternoon. Keeps giving me an error message about "service unavailable." Wondering if this is connected to the payment delays everyone's talking about.

UPDATE: My payment just hit my Money Network card about an hour ago! Logged in and it's there. So it took about 3 days total after certification. Relief! Hopefully everyone else sees their payments soon too.

•Still NOTHING on mine! This is so frustrating and unfair. Did anyone have to DO anything or did it just randomly show up?
