EDD payment delayed today - certified Sunday but money not in account by usual time
I'm getting worried about my unemployment payment this week. I certified for benefits on Sunday morning around 8am like I always do, and normally the money hits my Money Network card by 1:30pm on Monday without fail. It's now almost 11pm and still nothing in my account! My claim status says 'paid' when I log into UI Online, but the money isn't there. No pending transactions either. I've been collecting benefits for 3 months with zero issues until now. Is EDD experiencing some kind of delay with their payment processing today? Has anyone else who certified Sunday not received their payment yet? I've got rent due in 2 days and really need this payment to clear!

•Glad it's not just me! Have you had any issues with payments before? I'm wondering if I should call EDD tomorrow morning or just wait it out.

Mine is ALWAYS in by 10:30am Monday after Sunday certification. But today I also don't have it yet. Maybe there's a system update or holiday delay we don't know about??

•There's actually scheduled maintenance on their payment processing system happening today according to the EDD website. They posted a notice saying some payments might be delayed by 24-48 hours. If your UI Online status shows 'paid,' you shouldn't worry - the money will show up, just later than usual.

Don't panic yet. I've been on UI for almost a year and occasionally payments take an extra day. If your UI Online says 'paid' then the money is coming, just delayed. Bank transfers and Money Network system sometimes have hiccups. Give it until tomorrow afternoon before getting too worried.

•Thanks for the reassurance! Do you know if there's any way to set up text alerts for when deposits hit the Money Network card? Would save me the stress of constantly checking.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM LAST MONTH!!! Called EDD 54 times before getting through (not exaggerating) and they said it was some stupid flag on my account for "income verification" even though I hadn't reported any income!!! The rep fixed it while I was on the phone and money came through 3 hours later. DONT WAIT - CALL THEM FIRST THING TOMORROW!!!

•Have you tried using Claimyr to reach an EDD agent? I was in the same boat last week with a payment delay and couldn't get through calling directly. Used the service at claimyr.com and got connected to an EDD rep in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. The agent told me sometimes payment delays happen when there's a random verification flag or system delay, but they can push it through manually when you reach them.

•Today isn't a bank holiday, but your cousin is right that processing schedules can be affected by various factors. The EDD does batch processing of payments, and sometimes technical issues or maintenance can cause delays. The important thing is that if the UI Online system shows 'paid', the money has been authorized and will be transferred - it's just a matter of when it posts to the account.

Just to follow up on what others have said: if your UI Online status shows 'paid,' you're good - the money is coming. The transfer to Money Network or direct deposit is a separate step that can sometimes be delayed. EDD batch processes payments, and their system sometimes has hiccups. A one-day delay is common and nothing to worry about. However, if by Wednesday you still don't have it, then you should definitely call. Make sure you're also checking your Money Network balance directly through their app or website, not just looking for bank notifications.

•Thank you all for the help! My payment finally hit my Money Network card this morning around 3am. Looks like it was just delayed by about 14 hours from the usual time. Such a relief! I'll remember this for the future and not panic if there's a slight delay.
